Some people think M$ only changed their policy to get their sails up (Even though that is 50% or more correct). They think after we finish buying the Xbox one they will turn on us an go back to the old policy since they already made their money.

1 Respuesta
to get their sails up
Microsoft's a boat?
-
If they were tricking us, no one would ever buy another Xbox
-
5 RespuestasYou do know that 80% of the people that say yes are just PS4 fanboys, right? Also, wrong forum.
-
Trick you? No. Re-implement the DRM? Probably.
-
Of course they trick you, its microsoft! Just look at other products, its the same mentality behind it all. You need to stop being so naive, they gona turn on you, just watch my words. They love DRM and control, and now they lure you in on false pretense! Or they gonna oogle your girlfriend on 1080P HD on the "Forced" Kinect, hahaha Sure Sony can do the same, but i think not, they have much more at stake, and one letdown can not be repaired in a long time. Besides i think Jack Tretton seems like a nice fellow, on the contrary to the Mattrickguy! Limey F*ck! /Z

I wouldn't say that they're trying to trick anyone. They tried to force something onto a market that wasn't ready for it and that market let it be known that they weren't ready for it. The DRM and all the other stuff has gone back into its box for now, but it'll be back... guaranteed. Ultimately both Microsoft AND Sony want us to be buying our games digitally and this will happen at some point during the X1/PS4 generation. When it does happen we'll be back to the position we were in a couple of days ago, before Microsoft made a U-Turn. If you want to know what gaming will be like under the restrictions Microsoft wanted to impose, take a look at Steam. PC gamers accepted it and embraced it and we'll be doing the same in a few years time whether we like it or not.

3 Respuestas#1 this thread has absolutely nothing to do with Destiny. #2 Microsoft is responding to consumers, they aren't going back to the old ways just for the hell of it.
-
2 RespuestasI Guarantee it! Eventually they will switch it on when no-one is looking. They're gonna put it in the EULA one update then the next update bam! It all there.
-
1 RespuestaThey did it to save their arses, and going back on it would only result in their arses getting sued in a class action lawsuit by many of their consumers, which is a lose-lose really. If their arse preservation reflexes are strong enough to make them change their policies, than likely they are too strong to let them change them back.

2 RespuestasThen we will drop our Xboxes, go buy Ps3s and raise sony's value, and then never pick up another M$ console again.
-
Ha my buddy made the same comment today. I doubt it. It would be too sinister and would affect them too negatively in the long run I'd think.
-
no one knows till it happens its a 50% change it could happen
-
That's nonsense. I'm sure Microsoft has learned their lesson.
-
Editado por Braydzz: 6/21/2013 2:03:24 AMI think they are going to rethink their plan and show us the "family plan" in the next E3.
-
A company as big as ms would never do that because they would lose credibility as a whole.
-
M$ will not do that, cuz they know that the instant they change back to their old policy, they'll loose more than half of the X1 community.
-
I don't think they will not everyone buys xboxs on day of release and if they do people can stop buying live
-
After the first year of launch once they have sold enough copies of the xbox one they could put those restrictions back on. They would do this so they can do the things they want to do but the possibility of them doing this is not huge but possible.
-
Yeah.... because it makes a lot of sense for them to do as such....... Despite the "uproar" on the internet about the policies that were just changed, most serious analysts and tech professionals didn't really think that the XB1 sales were going to be hurt much to begin with. We tend to forget that the people who hop online and voice their opinion to any great degree is but a fairly small minority of the total user base of any of these given technologies. I know from my own friends/family, the ones who were already more into the Xbox sphere were going to buy the XB1 anyway. They don't spend their time on forums such as these posting their views on it however, they just buy what they like. Microsoft made the changes for PR reasons more than anything. Making the changes not only gained them some support back from the internet community but also took away a good bit of Sony's marketing advantage. For MS, this was an easy enough decision with really no downside. What do they lose? Some possible money from used game resales? In the grand scheme of things that would have been a nice addition to income, but I doubt they ever believed it to be an overly significant portion. Given that their current revenue models don't include it, they haven't lost anything, they just haven't added anything either. That is of course saying that nothing else comes along that earns them more money from these consoles. So, positive PR, taking away some of Sony's marketing points, with no real cost to you? How could they not do it. The idea that they would willingly bring on the massive PR nightmare that they would incur if they re-implemented these policies later just doesn't make any sense. I know that MS is often out of touch with the general public, the Xbox team is usually the one group within MS that does reasonably well in this regard. I think from this point on they will be working on image building, being very careful to not do anything that would be a repeat of this little "debacle".

You posted in the wrong area btw.
-
Thats Just stupid
-
Because Publishers totally make the majority of their profit from selling consoles right? All that money they make over the next 10 years from games and Xbox Live Subscriptions? It pales in comparison to the single one time event of buying an Xbox One.

That is false adverting. That would be illegal. They will not do that.
