I asked my friends and they said that the weapons and the gameplay was the same as halo. A bunch of stuff and NPCs were right offs of the previous halo games. Other then being online and MMO its the same.

Actually il looks exactly like MARATHON.

Bungie's last game Halo:Reach was accused of not being halo enough - and now this is being accused of being exactly like halo? The internet sometimes... It looks like a Bungie game (because it is)
-
Nope, not even. I do see some similarities between the two games, but what do you expect? They made halo. This game is not halo and never will be. The game looks completely different from my point of view, and I've been playing halo since 2002.

4 RespuestasNo comment. Just cuz its SciFi it's like halo?

1 RespuestaI think it looks like Halo had sex with borderlands while mass effect was watching them
-
17 RespuestasOther than adding elements from a completely different genre, it's exactly the same, guys.

This is the only logical reply I have: LOL

Editado por RECON: 6/12/2013 3:18:10 PMI thought the gameplay looked great. ADS is not a bad thing at all, the idea of public events and co-op and PvP being so seamlessly integrated looks amazing, so far we haven't heard anything akin to "perks" and it looks like what Halo should have evolved into but never could have. The only thing that worries me is AI. Obviously I haven't seen much and they might still be making improvements but the AI looked really stupid in that demo. What's the point in giving your foes super-powerful tank guns and seemingly some kind of super-speed dash move if 90% of the time they just stand there like a dumb shit and let you shoot them? It could be a gamechanger for me.

5 RespuestasEditado por Bistromathics: 6/12/2013 2:44:06 PMI think they're completely right about the gameplay, which was very generic. And people here who are saying "well, new graphics and story so there" are missing the point entirely. No matter what context you place the gameplay in, it's still the same fundamental pew-pew. If you're arguing that Destiny is different because the gameplay is different... good luck. It's a mistake to add the social/MMO features as an afterthought, since that's what's so good about the game to begin with. In the phrase "Shared-World Shooter", the most important words are "shared world". The seamless nature of social play - transitioning from meeting up with friends to cooperative public events to PVP - and the depth of character customization are what will propel Destiny past "generic shooter" status. I wouldn't say they're playing it safe-- maybe they're playing it smart. If you change too much, you run the risk of alienating gamers. The gameplay is something that's very comfortable and familiar to all of us, but the complete reframing of gameplay is new.

Your friends are probably ignorant gamers who think that the newest CoD is the next best thing.

2 RespuestasYour friends are idiots.
-
2 RespuestasHmm...ADS, custom weapons/armor, and magic....yes I see your point...exactly like Halo.
-
1 RespuestaHere's a coupon for a punch to the face
-
People are refuting your point left and right, yet your attempts at defending your assertion are laden with ad hominem and avoid the points they bring up. People are likely to disregard your argument because you called Durandal an idiot (join dates matter here). You can not simply disregard the addition of ADS, offensive magical powers, open world environments, and extensive RPG elements.

My friend that occasionally plays Halo, with me, also suggested that it looks exactly like Halo. I disagree, though. I don't see any similarities. All I see is a Borderlands clone.
-
I had a conversation earlier where someone was trying to convince me that Bungie was just copying off their previous games. I told him if that's the case then we should expect the Traveler to actually be a giant ping pong ball that we'll bounce back and forth between Earth and Mars, and that final boss of whatever race is our biggest enemy has the face of Saddam Hussein and rides a tank. And if that happens, 1) I called it and 2) May God have mercy on our souls.

If you read OP in a positive light, then... HELL YEAH!! :D

2 Respuestasand if you had details to point out? You say exactly like Halo? Similar engine, same creative team, same production and engineering team. So yes you may find things that may feel or seem like Halo but it is clearly not. New graphics interface, story, characters, and overall a new a better experience. You can shoot it down all you want but let's face the facts, it is a new concept, exclusive content will be on the ps3, and 4 , last but certainly not least ,Microsoft no longer has their hooks in BUNGIE's back going HALO, HALO, more HALO. Being a creative production company that wants to make more than just one franchise is bittersweet at times when you have a hit like HALO. So on that note look at DESTINY as your exclusive "HALO" for and from Sony even if it is coming to other systems it will have things just for Sony.

2 RespuestasI thought it looked more like Pokemon, but with guns, and without Pokemon... Yup took everything from Pokemon, but completely different.

Editado por Hideaki Anno: 6/12/2013 6:10:06 AMIt is sci-fi(ish) like Halo and made by Bungie, who made Halo. All I got.
-
I know dude it's like they copied halo ce and put better graphics your so right dude

Get better friends

2 RespuestasIt's not exactly like Halo but it does have things that remind me of it. The way the guardians sprint, the color palette and a couple animations here and there it looks more like an upgraded Reach engine with different skin than anything else. Let the hating commence.
-
2 RespuestasSo just online then? Because it's not an MMO.
-
Just like all the stuff Halo copied from Marathon
