For the sake of argument, my roommate and I have been debating which game is better Halo Reach or Halo 4? Overall I feel that Halo 3 is better but I am debating that Halo Reach is better between the two options where as he feels that Halo 4 is the best Halo yet. I have come to understand that both are hated on this forum so I figure this is as unbiased a place as possible to put the poll to settle our debate.

40 RespuestasEditado por DE4THINC4RN4TE: 4/20/2013 8:26:40 PMReach had Invasion, Firefight, Forge World, actual Custom Game options, better sounds (Eg. Warthog, Fuel Rod Gun, etc), better playlists, classic Halo Weapons (Plasma Rifle anyone?), introduced neat new weapons (Needle Rifle, Grenade Launcher, Plasma Launcher, etc), had Brutes, had Drones, doesn't have a system where you unlock game changing abilities which gives you an unfair advantage over new players, has a Human Flying Vehicle for use in Custom Games, the Revenant, the art direction actually made Spartans seem rough and tough, Spartans look like they spent their childhood in a gym (Halo 4's are FAR too lean.), the armor wasn't over done and looked like Halo armor, had the Spirit Drop-ship, more game types (Race, Assault, Insane, 1 Flag, etc), and overall felt like a Halo game. I'll admit it had its issues. People liked to complain about Armor Lock and Bloom a bunch. Armor Lock was fixed in the TU, and well Bloom... looking at Halo 4's DMR you realize it was their for a reason. Even so, it was toned down to a more acceptable rate. It was more polished and Bungie actually listened and responded directly to community. It's the reason why I'm here waiting for Destiny and not at Waypoint waiting for Halo 5. (Although I'll probably end up getting it for the Campaign.) Be happy people. We're getting a new Franchise from Bungie, this time without being held back by Microsoft. Oh, and Reach had GREAT Easter Eggs. Just look at the Tribute Room, Spawning Banshees on the Level when you go to take out Sword Base, Reach Racer, flying a Pelican or Phantom, and others. Just so much fun stuff.

Anything beats Reach. I find it funny that the lolhalo fanboys always think the last game (which they call terrible while it's relevant) is god-tier once the newest one comes out. Halo 3 forever master race.

16 RespuestasEditado por perinski93: 5/17/2013 3:15:34 AMHalo 4 improved from Reach. Even though there were mistakes in H4, no game is perfect. To 343i's credit, they have been listening to the community and they have been fixing whats been broken since H4's launch. Halo 5 will be better because they are listening to the community. what i dont understand is why everyone's jimmies are still rustled. Its 343i's first game and everyone was expecting it to be this perfect, flawless game but they didnt leave room for any improvement. Again, no game is perfect and 343i is learning. There's a difference between hating on a company and providing constructive criticism. Majority of people seem to be hating just to hate and provide little to none constructive criticism. If people really loved halo and wanted it to improve, then they would help 343i make the game better, and not have this constant hate for the game thats going on right now. If you want to save Halo, help 343i

1 RespuestaReach. Halo 4 is the reason I quit playing.

1 RespuestaI think this video sums up Halol 4 pretty well.
-
Reach pretty much because of the ending

Editado por The Random: 7/25/2013 4:10:58 AMThey both suck, but 343i really ruined the lore and cannon of Halo with Halo 4 and the Kilo 5 books. They also managed to make Halo 4's multiplayer even worse than Halo: Reach multiplayer. EDIT: The music in Halo 4 sucks too, there was nothing memorable about it. At least Reach had good music.

3 RespuestasWow, never in a million years did I think that this community would turn around on Reach like it did. Maybe I'm one of the few old enough to remember, but that game got VERY mixed review among the community in the early days of its release. I for one am very pleased to see it, as I have always loved it myself and find it far superior to Halo 4, and even some older Bungie Halos.

Halo reach was my first console game.. Before you criticize me yes I did play the other halos... I like reach and while it has its problems i like it and I still like it.. Overall I think the game mechanics are better than halo 4s.. And everyone talks about the graphics in halo 4 but I don't see much of an improvement

1 RespuestaHalo 4 which may actually be my favourite halo

When we evaluate Halo games we do it from two perspectives; Campaign and Multiplayer. For me H2 still has the best multiplayer and H1 has the best Campaign with H3 doing the best all-around job. Reach was a good game I think but it wasn't as good as H3 and it's new elements threw a lot of people. That said, Reach is not a terrible game and I had a lot of fun playing it. H4 has neither the best Campaign or Multiplayer game. I would personally say it has the least satisfying Halo multiplayer for the simple reason; it's unmemorable. Same applies to the Campaign but I would say that the H4 Campaign was at least more balanced than the H2 Campaign. So it's not looking good for H4. If they had only added all those staple missing things; Assault, Elites, 1 Flag, UNSC aircraft, classic Flag, Firefight or even Invasion. If they had added all these things, and these are things most of us assumed would be there, then I think most of us who have issues with H4 would be fine with it. Most of us have issues with Reach but we're ok with it because as a game it offers an absolute shit-ton of options and features. H4 is Reach but without the features that make you come back for more or forgive the shortcomings.

They couldn't even get forge right...

Honestly? Halo 4. That can come across as blasphemy on here, but I really like it. It doesn't beat the original trilogy but it sure beats Reach.
-
Reach, as much as I loved Master Chief/Cortana's story in 4, the campaign's gameplay was kind of boring (with the exception of vehicle sections such as the Warthog, Ghost, etc.), but it was just plug your usb to sort everything out here, now go to the next port, but it was fun, sort of... Reach kept me coming back (mostly Exodus, Tip of the Spear, and Long Night of Solace) just to go through the planet of Reach at different points of the war, just before its inevitable fall, and the sound/art design helped the atmosphere feel so real.... (Side Note: one follows continuity and one not so well....)

5 RespuestasGo Reach, for God's mercy please go to Reach! Reach is not the best Halo ever, but it is better than Halo 4. Reach actually tried to keep the ancient Halo formula, but tried to do new things. Halo 4 completely butchered the ancient Halo formula and it add generic and boring things like Perks and Ordonance (Killstreaks). They even add K-I-L-L-C-A-M-S which are not even fuctionning correctly! So please go to Reach, I assure you'll have a better experience than Call of Halo 4.

Halo: Reach hands down.

-
Reach. There's really no contest.
-
I still play Reach to this day. I pretty much stopped with Halo 4 in January.
-
Reach, easily.
-
Halo 3 is better than both by a million but Halo 4 and Reach were equally bad. I almost want to say Reach was better but that is nostalgia and that is also what is affecting everybody else's votes for Reach. Armor Lock was terrible, AAs in general were bad, Halo 4 is just mediocre but it's better than Reach. I just didn't play Halo 4 as much because I was tired of Halo all together.
-
Reach is overall the worst Halo game and H4 is slightly better.
-
Loved them both. I think Halo Reach for nostalgic reasons of playing with my friends on summer nights. Halo 4 because it is really fun. Hard choice.
