I'm looking forward to the Starship and host of vehicles I might get my hands on, but deep down I'm a MechWarrior, Armored Core, and Hawken lover of everything Mecha. Maybe for high level players they could unlock small Landmate like mechs down the road. Just suggestion because Mechs are like giant squid they just make everything more awesome.

1 RespuestaEditado por Commander Tempu: 3/11/2013 3:50:09 PMPeshaw...i am a old rpger table top. mecha was a term used back when Robotech Magcross was around. Both the show and game is awesome to play. Words like powered armor ect..came from a great writer Robert A. Heinlen. Star ship Troopers the book told a story set far in the future. Comics such as Iron man ect have made good on this now games and movies with Cgi or graphics are using these powered suits. Rpg's like RIFTS use allot of Vehicles as do many but it depends on what kind of story is being told. Fallout 3 and new Vegas used suits but no tanks or the like. Why does it need to be a mech ? Tanks robots ect can also play an important role. From the Art in Destiny a wide variety of Vehicles will be apart of it but no one needs a mech warrior rip off as Bungie likes to create things on there own and it depends on the story. Put it plainly Robotech was ripped off by Battletech.(FASA) and Used some of the Original mechs for that game set in a diff world and had to be told not to copy any more of it. (Eample:Radar-X aka Riflemen.) In anycase i like big stuff that blows up other stuff. Tanks ect....yet you will not see a 20 ft robot like in RIFTS RPG ...even 50 ft..as Bungie seems to be going for a diff style here in this world. Meaning more co-op and larger robot the more crew you need and would be great for co-op. One man killers promotes single man problems as many will try to abuse it. Big bosses or enemy's might need more than just a one man unit. What if you plan on taking on a small army ? In the End it really depends on Bungie but from what i seen no Mechs in sight. If there were i would love to see the Glitterboy..hehehee..From Rifts. if there were mechs or robots it should promote more co-op for the larger models but sometimes our friends are not on thus we might need a one player kind. All sorts of stuff in Destiny just need to wait and see. I do agree the worst Mech universe and game i have played was Lost Planet.

1 RespuestaI too enjoy the Armored Core series. But, you're asking to have a mech in a game where the majority of the game is small weapons fire, and the occasional vehicle based combat. Think the level in Halo 4 when you get to control a mantis. How easily you run through all the enemies in the entire level with that thing. That's how it would be in Destiny. And if we get experience for killing enemies, that's just not going to work. Unless you were to make the mech extremely weak, but then what's the point of having a mech?

2 RespuestasEh. I don't think that would really match the world Bungie is going for. At least not from the little bits I've seen so far. But then... it's a big world.

Mechs require a special skill the lay person may not possess. To call an operator a driver shows as little significance as saying one is simply sitting in a driver's seat. No. A pilot is the only person who can assume command over an armored fighting vehicle. Mechs are awesome, and the joy of gaming is that one does not need to toil (too hard) in training to be able to handle the demands of such walking awesomeness. That being said, I see many mechs being handled poorly by players online, forgetful that an armored unit is most effective with backup, same as if on foot. PS. I bagged a perfection in Halo 4 tonight using the Mantis. YEE-HA!

2 RespuestasCertain types of Mechs, but no Japanese anime shit like the last mech in Lost Planet. Just large weaponized mechanical platforms.

I don't really think they'd fit in, but hey, if they want to, they'll make it work.

1 RespuestaEditado por Ocean Man: 3/11/2013 5:13:18 AMI too am a driver of Mechs. While other people are foolish and die within the first minutes of getting into the mechs, I realised that mechs are not meant to be in the open sponging up hits, but instead a glass cannon, something that hits hard but breaks easy. Mechs true potential is that they can last all match if needed to and would be a force to be reckon with if you are not prepared to ambush the driver. Yes, I too would like a mech-like vehicle in Destiny. Be brave, and I'll see you star-side.
