I'd say thats pretty accurate The "RaD" update will be like D1 Age Of Triumph, which was mostly Raid upgrades and refreshes Then it will be in maintenance mode like D1, if Sony doesn't decide Destiny servers are not worth upkeeping and maintaining, and shuts them off

$1.6 billion is a bitter acid lemon drop to swallow, then spit out…if M does a concord nose dive, as many anticipate, I foresee the following scenarios… 1. Sony / BHQ digs in and reworks the M product, a course correction, they might say, for a future release. Doubling down on their current investment…full of confidence that they’ll get it right next time…because ‘we listened, and heard the feedback, loud and clear!’ 2. Sony pays out the vested few, who depart for pastures new. M vaulted. More resources poured into D2 to revitalise asap, with D3 announced as a possible new project under development…only this time - engage with the loyal Customer base, and actually hear what we’ve been saying for years! And get it right! Build it, and we’ll be there. ITMT: Major personnel changes at BHQs C Suite and at other key creative choke points. Relocate from Seattle…sell and recoup what can be done…cut the bloat…complete restructure of BHQ…the majority of the worker bees remain in employment. In the interim, could upgrade D1 to modern tech standards, and launch as a filler product, eg, Destiny Legends, until D3 is properly developed and ready for launch. 3. Forward Unto Dawn - make good quality films / TV Series about the H.A.L.O. / Destiny Universe. 4. Mothball BHQ and M and Destiny…a total write off…and be done chasing such ventures. That is all. Ease Springs! 🙄

Honestly, at the moment I feel it could go either way, depending on Marathon’s performance.

I believe that Sony would more than see 10+years of ups and downs but non the less the survivability and potential of the game and wont shelve the game after dissolving Bungie, if not down sizing it, and find within their conglomerate more capable and competent devs to take over future expansions and iterations of the franchise. At least, thats what I want to believe. Though Ive been alive long enough to know that what I hope to believe and reality are two very different things.

I believe you're spot on. I think sony have told them to leave the game in a finished state before they issue the final retention payments & there's a mass staff exodus. This will be 100% if they release all the raid & dungeon tiered stuff at once.
