At this point I think everything is on the table for Bungie. The EoF plan was a complete fail, and early leak already point to a delay in the next expansion in order to address some of the issue introduced in EoF.
Fair to say, as long as the roadmap is not done and communicated who knows what the new model is going to be.

Yeah they gotta be having emergency talks about this with Sony, if renegades didn't do as expected and numbers suggest it didn't sell well at all. Do Sony make more cuts due to revenue loss, do they revert portal & update the whole game, do Sony invest more to pump life into everything, or do they wait to see marathon numbers & if that flops just shut the whole thing down. Anything could literally happen, from them saying D3 2028 to franchise ends this summer, & everything in-between
