They need to remove sbmm open the player pool because with sbmm im locked into a small pvp pool.
ignore all the 0.7 kd bots and look at their playtime/kd they don’t have any say to have sbmm because they rarely play pvp. I see so many bots with only 1k pvp kills and a 0.5.
It’s sad but true. They had their safe space for a long time now.

They removed SBMM a while ago and pvp has been absolutely trash since then. The lack of SBMM is part of the problem.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 hurrdurr living legend farming bots since 1971 hurrdurr

What does SBMM have to do with the issues described by OP?

Editado por RealDerpPerks: 8/20/2025 5:23:01 PMA bot would not be able to pull of chain kills for stuff to ohk. The problem is sbmm where people with no life spend all day playing so they can do all the ohk combos. The problem is sbmm

Things being "too strong" is a Sandbox Balancing issue, not a matchmaking issue. The issues described by OP would still exist even if you changed matchmaking.

Editado por Ranger415: 8/20/2025 5:27:32 PMWhat sbmm? Why do people keep saying there is. All they have is outlier protection so Coolguy doesn't get matched against 6 new lights. He is also the one that points out it is not beneficial to the health of pvp for him to steamroll them and I agree. I have played in lovbies with 3.0 monsters on a team of .5-1.0's and been steam rolled along the way. Sbmm doesn't exist. The closest thing to it is comp which makes sense, and thats not skill thats rank based match making. So while in gold you play predominantly gold players and as you ascend the ladder you play other players within your rank, not skill, rank. I would argue a loose sbmm would be good for control, not trials or comp just the casual playlist. Let lesser players get there feet wet and enjoy a level playing field. A low tier player will never get better in a match that they are over matched. Its like asking a kindergartener to do calculus.

1) I did not mention anything about SBMM. 2) I believe Outlier Protection, aka "loose" SBMM, belongs in pretty much every mode except for party modes. 3) Trials shouls always use CBMM due to how it works. 4) Competitive can use either Rank-based or SBMM (with scaled rewards) and still achieve its objective. None of this has anything to do with OP's topic.

I realize you didn't mention sbmm, I was referring to the same comment on the post you were. I believe they removed one counter to op abilities by making special so scarce. I'm ok with not getting special on every kill but I think on death you should always start with special.
-
I agree with that. Instead of nerfing special ammo generation into the ground, I wish they had addressed the "problematic" special weapons, like slugs and rapid-fire fusions.
-
For sure. It has removed the possible counter of a rushing titan or tempest strike or a sliding warlock.
-
No it wouldn’t. The go fast update where they brought 6v6 back. There was no sbmm and it was the best time I ever had in my life. They made guns kill faster and bots still couldn’t get kills.

So please tell me what mode has a strict sbmm? Because as I mentioned earlier control has outlier protection to protect the worst from the best and everyone else is open. This is beneficial because it continues to bring people into the mode and as they get better they are introduced to general population. Control isn't sbmm it is ranked based match making. So again where is sbmm, its not in trials until after you go flawless and then you are just matched again with people you own play level of that weekend. This is again designed to keep the mode alive because it has been dying for years. They are trying to get people to play and feeling rewarded makes most people stay in a mode. I love pvp in destiny but it is a dying player base AE killed a large part of the fun, xim and cronus users have really taken away from all of the fun. Its time for them to get serious ban hammers that are console specific not user based. Or say that its open season fully and not case by case. If you need those for an accommodation you should have to submit to Bungie that you are using it. They monitor your usage and if its abused you are warned against use or they tweak settings. Work I get it but they run rampant in pvp.

Even if you didnt see the issues AS OFTEN in pure-CBMM modes, the issues would still exist, and every time you loaded up Comp or Trials, you'd see the outliers. Your post has absolutely no relevance on the topic of balance. You are just a troll crying for relevance
