The new Rite of the Nine dungeon difficulties truly opened my eyes to this issue the most.
On hardest difficulty (Spire of the Watcher), WoR can barely keep you alive against a Minotaur, and it does nothing against either hydra’s or the final boss.
When it gets to DMG phase, we get roughly 2/5 of his health down before he rushes us (Ignoring ignitions completely), and one-shots us out of the well.
Supers are meant to have damage resistance. Let WoR give us AT MINIMUM 30% resist for those standing inside the well.
The truth of it, is that well is designed for endgame content. Ironically, it’s useless in endgame content.

1 RespuestaThank Saltagreppo for Well of Radiance being hot garbage.
-
Unfortunately, Bungie wanted Well to stop being a requirement for Endgame content. It was just too good and trivialized them. This was the idiotic solution they came up with. Now, it's almost useless beyond giving your team the Radiant buff for like 30 seconds. If you plan on using it, you'll need to run Speaker's Mask for better healing, or have another Warlock use Song of Flame for additional damage resistance.

That's not entirely true. Were you running 100 res? Fusions two tap maybe three tap the minotaurs. Most of my teams deaths were from jank or getting hyper focused losing sight of where the boss is. 2 deaths is a wipe because you can't get gold rewards. Worst part was having to farm for ammo using 1kv on the chicken.

1 RespuestaI agree, WoR is completely useless. In its current state there are many alternatives to survivability that works as well or better while allowing for another super to be used. Too bad I had a good build for it but 90% of the time it sucks.

2 RespuestasPlop down a barricade - problem solved.
-
2 RespuestasWe used a Well and did fine. Biggest struggles were Supplicants and those a-hole detainment drones. LOL
-
well had to get nerfed though.. invincible circle for 30 seconds is hard to design encounters off of lol

Editado por ben: 5/11/2025 10:34:49 PMAs a warlock main thank god its not as good anymore. And yet its still a must have for most things... good luck doing things like Persys or the corrupted puppeteer without a well. And limit break with sanguine turns it into one of the best damage supers as well. It is PLENTY good. If you want old school well DR for yourself, song of flame has it. If you are struggling with persys you just need to jump out of the well earlier and forego some damage. Its a three phase anyway. I know there are some strategies now involving 1K voices that make it even easier but I havent done it since the second day.

I mean, they just need to add Passives to all the supers. Similar to how Needle Storm allows Warlocks to perch Threadlings (until Prismatic became a thing) So, if that’s the case, what then would the Passive for Well if Radiance be? Personally, I think it should be this. When using an Empowering Rift, you get Resto x1 and Cure x1, when using a Healing Rift, you get 5 seconds of Radiance, and when using a Pheonix Dive, you get Resto x1, Radiance for 5 Seconds, and Cure x3. I would also change Radiance to make it so that when standing in a Rift, it counts as an “Empowering buff” similar to the Empowering Rift, thus making Well of Radiance and Starfire Protocol best of buddies.

When soloing spire you realize a lot of things how unbalanced and a lot of abilities also supers are just plain useless especially in DPS phases I do think the well nerf needs to be reversed now because the "Song of flame" is literally a best version of it or change well entirely. *Players in well gain "Solar Arsenal" infusion your bullets with solar light that inflicts burn on enemies that stacks to 10 and triggers ignition ( basically a solar version of arc charge Titan) That's why I think we need more exotics that change supers to benefit more then continuously keep getting class ability focused exotics or super refund Regen band-aid excuse.

21 RespuestasDefinitely needs nerf reverting… think we all know who is to blame for this nerf
-
Well isn’t a free win button anymore?
-
Be as well calling it Puddle of Gloom now.
-
11 RespuestasYou could alternatively just force some more healing. Speakers sight turrets are good and this season you can use rally barricade and bolt charge to heal.
-
I did the first clear with a void hunter with onmioculus and 2 arc titans we stood right in front of the boss behind the barricade while shoting him with thunder lord we didnt died once to his range attack
-
Honestly, I still think the best choice for the well nerf was make it 20 seconds.
-
they really lost its identity with that latest nerf. SoF got the same damage boost, which is only now slightly weaker, plus ability spam, plus ally buffs, and massive damage resistance as well. Well has almost no purpose now since it's like 1.5 Healing Rifts + Empowering Rifts stacked together, except it takes up an entire super
-
"makes the game too easy needs a nerf" Enjoying the changes yet? :)
-
They moved all the damage resistance into SoF. I have no idea why people still use WoR for protection, it's for a damage boost.

Skill issue.
