Invisibility needs to be reworked

I'm just going to preface this post by saying if you aren't a high kd player, you will most likely not understand this post. Tell me why triple void hunter is the only class in the game in comp. I'm not even kidding when I say this, I just got out of a 9 hour comp session where 95% of our games were INFESTED with triple void hunters. It's not like this is a one time occurrence. The last 2 comp sessions I played were like this as well. Void hunter has ruined high sbmm gameplay since witch queen, and little has been done to mitigate its effectiveness. Most games would qualify being invisible and being off radar as a cheat, or at the very least, you have to heavily sacrifice part of your gameplay and invest into it, but with destiny 2 all you have to do is dodge every 18 seconds and you are invisible for over half of the cooldown, so there is no sacrifice to be made. It's also insane to me that for the past 3 comp sessions, I can count on 2 hands how many titans and warlocks I have matched against. Something needs to be done to void hunter or high skill crucible games will continue to be the most boring, talentless, and nerve-racking mud match it always has been

    • The only new aspect we have received since Strand landed on Void. This made invis Hunter common place again. When RDM rework could be paired with it, it ensured that it would become the meta. Invis has seen many nerfs, including the loss of radar for anything beyond 20m while still pinging the enemy at a slower interval. When you sprint or jump. Hunters will move to Solar with Tommy's RDM once Redrix is properly nerfed. That interaction is preemptively being nerfed for that very reason. Tell me, floaty Warlock, did you tell you Behemoth clanmates to stop spamming Stasis and Cerberus on 3 man squads in Trials and Comp when they broke the meta and got those things nerfed and reworked?

      • On your post you address invisibility and the spam of it in 9 hours of comp. However, if the visibility is not the problem, as you have mentioned, then what is? Also, you have not touched comp in 2 weeks, so you're clearly lying. In your last Comp game you got rolled by 3 Titans and the one before you defeated 2 Warlocks and a Titan. And in your last 3 comp sessions, 2 weeks ago, there were 11 non-hunter players in the opposing teams. Maybe learn to count? Maybe you meant Trials, but then you just had an impressive 22 game win streak. against all sorts of teams. To me, this post sounds like a crybaby titan ragebaiting. Shaxx and Saint would be ashamed of you.

        • Its more a lighting issue for me. On maps like cirrus plaza or altar of flame, i can mostly see them pretty clearly. But then maps like burn out or disjunction, they can be pretty difficult to spot.

        • To answer your question; Because people want to win. You don’t have to be a high k/d player to understand that, infact the lower people will understand it better. When the average trials match is queing up against a 3,000 times flawless player, of course people are going to take the easy way out and go rdm void hunter, or stasis/arc titan with peacekeepers. Invis is fairly balanced despite the popular belief. Theres several audio cues along with the fact that you can literally still see them while invis. If anything its more broken in pve than pvp. People are always going to metacrutch. Its a way for the mediocre to beat skilled players. If it wasnt invis hunters itd be something else you would complain about. The point being, theres no use in complaining about it. If you cant beat em, join em. And if you dont want to, thats perfectly fine. Outplay them. Its generally a mid player crutching a mid ability. Granted im not the best at pvp but id be lying if I said its impossible to simply be better than them. The games will be bland, and they will always be bland. Hence the nature of any pvp game.

          • Invisible has been around forever. What’s the deal with it now? Am I missing something? My only problem is I’m colorblind and it has always been an issue for me. But why the sudden increase in use?

            • If it is so OP like you say it is then why are you not on hunter ??? You are prob a titan main that is getting is owned by a someone who happens to be on hunter . Titans are busted , especially in pvp . So shut it and adapt or quit .

                Imo invis is largely more useful against lower skill players, who are much more unaware. I can hear a hunter go invis from halfway across a map, and if they want to get an angle, before the last bit of radar information they had is no longer relevant, on me they mostly need to go the direction I expected them in. At that point i have more information on them than they have on me, because they also don't have radar. I'm just starting to think using sound queues is something most players,even higher kd ones, don't do. I personally haven't had a problem with invis, and see the problem rn as mostly very low ttk weapons getting too much ease of use for the results.

                • Funny how this is the same guy who abused whisper of the rime on behemoth titan with Cerberus and truth teller for month and months on end. I like the fact you said only high KD players would understand. However the only way you have KD is by dodging 1v1s and running the cheesiest builds which in fact take no skill at all. Hypocrite at its finest

                    Something definitely needs to be done about void hunter for sure, but, I can say that about any ability spam focused build. Void hunter is the most annoying currently yes, but abilities/special ammo in general are far too prevalent in PvP. Also, aren’t you part of the group that has some obsession with stasis titan lol

                    • Invis allows them to take the 1st shot. In this game the one who shoots first usually wins with damn near 0 ttks.

                      • VPN to Asia :) high skill lobby here is mostly snapskating warlock. And dude 3 of the same thing has always been annoying. 3 void overshield titan, 3 rift healing turret warlock, 3 strand hunter with threadling nade and lemonaque. 3 prismatic hunter with slow and strand clone dodge.

                        • I mean they could rework it to be actually invisible. That’s about the only thing. Everything else has been nerfed hard.

                        • Agreed the only solution is a legit rework to make it not so free of an ability or game effecting ability. Just like fusions need a rework completely.

                        • Invis comes with an audio cue, AA on the Hunter, and radar pings I actively don't run invis because it relies on my opponent to not pay attention to get value out of

                          • People are going to complain about stuff like this on any class. Last time is was titans and bolt charge. If you can't counter invisibility, then you are not paying attention or camping like crazy. Keep moving and look around, hunters are really easy to spot now. Don't like it and play a warlock or titan? Fight fire with fire and use rat king, I pair mine with peregrine greaves on my void titan. Especially if there is a bunch of invisible hunters on the other team.

                            • I am a low skill but I’ll agree 100%. Fact for me is even if I could see them very rarely, I couldn’t land crit, so I lose gunfights to lower skill invis. It’s so obvious when they are visible some are just terrible. Like you mentioned there’s no sacrifice, and I would suggest let invis take all damage as crit when they are invisible. If you want to be a puccy, get hit like a puccy.

                                • What seems to be lost on a lot of people is that it's not about just being able to see the invis Hunter. It's having to take that extra split second in the gunfight that they don't. They always get the opportunity to take the first shot in every fight, and more often than not that decides who will win. Even if you don't die, you're on the back foot. I can tell if an invisible Hunter is in front of me. You know what I can do even quicker? See if anyone else is there.
