How I got screwed by the man...
I'm poor, so I brought gift cards to purchase a PS 5. The cards read: REEDEEM FOR ANYTHING ON PLAYSTATION STORE; games, add-ons, subscriptions and MORE. Ok, I'm poor so I'll purchase the cards and when the time is right purchase the 5. Boy was I wrong, there's a limit to the amount you can reedeem and they will not laterally transfer the monies within the account, although the corporation can see the monies are there. Are you laughing yet? I had a problem with a card, they said send pictures and receipts, here you go not a problem. I'm playing by the rules but they're not.
im out a little over 650.00 for my troubles. You can't trust anybody these days, power to the player what a crock.i'm sour, I'm miffed and truly disappointed in PlayStation as a corporation. I did it the right way, no -blam!- bootlegger with one eye, in an alley with a raspy voice selling gift cards out of his jacket. The agents are tell me you can buy this never the less, but your still getting the monies. You'll let me use a credit card to buy the system, while they charge me interest on the dollar but you won't utilize your own product to do the exact same thing? I'm not smart but I gather this the way of the world. The optics are bad Playstation, I know you have your online media people, AI chatbots that query any content that mentions your name, I know theyre gonna pick this apart, using the terms and conditions as a vehicle, your card says gift, which is a physical thing, schoolhouse rock right? A noun is a person, place or thing. I want the 1.2 million to have a chuckle a my behest. I just venting people, no need for reply, I'm just sour cause I hate to lose.

Seems the PS5 (and accessories) isn’t sold on the PlayStation store. It’s sold on the PlayStation Direct store (in url). It shows up on PS store to advertise, but redirects you to direct where it’s actually purchased. I don’t think they intended for gift cards to be used as such.

9 RespuestasI mean, maybe it's just me but the inability to buy a PS5 via PSN cards feels very obvious. PSN cards are primarily for the purchase of digital goods. You know, game downloads, and stuff like that. To buy physical things, like controllers, consoles, and other hardware, you're usually better off going through a regular store. Walmart, or at least Amazon or something. Besides, why were you stashing the money in gift cards instead of just stashing the money? If you really need it out of your bank account to stop you from spending it, surely you could just withdraw the cash and keep it in a drawer or something instead?

2 RespuestasWe're talking those cards that you use to add to your PSN wallet, no? The ones that allow you to buy things from the digital storefront?

Companies that take unused gift cards don't take PlayStation cards...that says a lot.

I'm gonna pivot, not problem but they've been exposed and I'll bet a nickel, that's a Kentucky bet that they will in fact add this to their terms and conditions, because it wasn't there before and they will in fact change the verbage on their cards. Just pay attention to it. True gamers, didn't buy the 5 straight out because we knew that it would have problems. We literally live in the box, clowns don't know the difference between AI and deep dives. We look at it and say that's fake, how do you know? I play video games son.

I find myself quoting Harry Vanderspeigle yet again; "This is some BULL*HIT!!" I'm genuinely sorry to hear about you getting shafted like that.

1 RespuestaI said I am poor, if in hind sight I had the money up front I would had brought the 5. Next time your in the stores, read the card and you'll see how misleading it is.

Im with you OP, if i have 99 gift cards that are legal tender for the purchase It better -blam!- work when I go to by my 5. 👋
:p
2 RespuestasIf you had the money to spend on gift cards for a PS5, why didn’t you just buy a PS5?

Damn. That is a hard way to learn that you can’t use your PSN account credit to buy a ps5 (or accessories etc..). You have my sympathy.
