As a loooong time user of blink, I can honestly say it has its uses. I would never use it obviously for precise jumps like in raids for instance.
But it is my preferred daily use. I feel like it's been reduced to a shell of itself and I offer a few suggestions....
Increase the initial forward blink distance slightly. It feels flat, and doesn't behaved how I would expect. Anyone who uses blink can tell you, if you time it right on a hop, you can propel yourself forward pretty quickly. It feels like the burst is there, but you descend after the animation as if using glide? It's a unique movement ability which should have its cool down and distances reflect it over traditional versions of glide. Only need a little more distance and not the sudden drop after the animation completes.
The lance artifact also has a unique movement which allows you to "sidestep" enemy attacks with what is similar to blink, only done better. Why can't I sideways blink? You basically use a version of this for mask on hunter.
Seriously in need of a distance, and cleaner movement update.
I have my reservations about even suggesting it, cause I wouldn't want it ruined, only improved on. Lately the distance and movement feel sluggish compared to the past, and I 95% of the time use it.
My two cents
Thanks for all the feedback fellow guardians. I think for lack of a better explanation, I was looking for maybe a bit of the thrust after the animation to be a bit farther, as other have stated. Certain jumps just can't be done with blink. I do realize it's a teleport, and it's own unique movement.

1 RespuestaI use blink almost exclusively. It has certainly got me killed in both PvE and PvP, usually as a result of odd behaviour during descent but also due the cooldown. I understand why it’s there but it’s so frustrating at first times. The problem is that I kinda enjoy the fact that I’m in a minority of blink users and if they improved it, we’d see a lot more of it. Using blink means that you often catch people off guard too. If everyone was using it, could you imagine how annoying the pvp sandbox would be?

I just think of it as a teleport rather than a jump. Helps a lot on certain maps like endless or jav

14 RespuestasI daily drive blink as well. My biggest issue is with distance and the cooldown. There are some areas that blink just will not make a jump. If blink can not make a jump in easy content like seasonal activities, either the gap shouldn't be that big or blink needs a bit more distance. There is no reason every class, and every jump choice shouldn't be able to make every jump in normal content. It's not right that my random fireteams members have to either wait on me to go in my menu and change my jump or start two manning until I catch up. All because my chosen jump can't make a jump that all others can make. My next issue is the repeat timer, to many times there are strikes etc that have more than 2 jumps in a row. Using blink you have to stand and wait for the invisible timer to count down before making the 3rd and 4th jump, else plummet into the void.

5 RespuestasRadar just needs to stay up without the use of a Warlock-exclusive exotic. That's the only change I'd make.

2 RespuestasHaven’t use blink in a while but didn’t the distance base of your mobility stat?

nothing should be changed on it at all or it would seriously mess with its pvp usage where it is most used and piss off a great number of people. the only possible thing that should be changed is its radar going away without astrocyte as astrocyte is still strong enough of an exotic in pvp that it will still be useful. also d2 blink is actually a huge improvement on the d1 blink which also was only used for pvp. what they could do is add a separate pve version of blink as a new jump that makes it easier for pve players to use in pve. that i could get behind.
