PVP… Nothing feels changed?(Hunter OP)

It’s wild to me the amount of support prismatic Hunter receives in their toolkit for PVP compared to the other two classes. The ability spam with smoke, swarm, and slow dodge specter is still running rampant, since the “balance” it’s been less annoying but it’s still everywhere. But all that aside if you’re looking for a way to win all your games use Hunter. Hunters will always be the best class for PvP, most of their balances or nerfs get retracted anyway(looking at you stompees). I’d like to see smoke grenade cooldowns be increased(to many benefits for pressing one button; though that’s 95% of the Hunter class)and swarm grenades to be treated like threadlings, one shot and they all explode. This is sure to get all the Hunter mains in here defending things or trying to compare. Just the thoughts of an old washed up D2 PvP player. Eyes up guardians

  • Funny thing is that the nerf to specters ability to draw fire away from the castor that was supposed to be delayed by 3 seconds in PvP affected PvE instead. So get bent.

Prismatic Hunter's have -blam!-% win rate in PVP, and, although higher than it should be, it is not enough to justify your claim. It is ridiculous that you're grouping all Hunter under the same umbrella as Prismatic. That is the equivalent of players asking for Solar Titan nerfs when Void and Arc Titans ruled PVP - it doesn't make any sense at all. What does Solar have to do with Arc and vice versa? EDIT: The win rate is fifty-five percent. I don't know why Bungie censored that, but whatever.

      • It’s odd to me, reading statements like “if you want to win all your games, play hunter”. To drive this point home, I suggest you play hunter in Trials this weekend and post your match history as a follow-up. Show us all how much easier it is to play hunter. Clearly, you won’t - likely under the guise of false morality. Surely, you’d never bring yourself to such depths as to crutch a hunter! But again - I would love to see you run this as an experiment to show us your success.

        • Titan mains wont be happy until they are the top class running around shoulder charging with shotguns. While warlocks and hunters are not allowed to use weapons or abilities

          • It’s annoying yes but only if you’re a shotgun user,I’d much rather deal with that than to have to deal with one shot abilities and knockback effects.

Eyes up guardians[/quote] Honestly, if they just reduce the radius of smoke, make it so if u shoot it, it's gone (not activating it) take away spectral clone from showing on radar (the damage and blast radius was never a problem) and drop the swarm grenade count by 3-4 it would be fine. The problem with smoke is the fact that if it hits you, you're stuck trying to get away for a good 3-4 seconds due to its size. And shooting it just blocks a path as u wait for it to disperse. The clone paired with the smoke makes ur radar completely unreliable, so just remove it from radar. And swarm is the amount of damage simply because of how many swarms there are, each hiting u separately, extending the duration ur out of the fight due to scorch. The hunter kit is only op because of how good it is keeping u out of the fight or distracted from the actual enemy's. A smoke on one side and a clone on another is wild being that u can almost guarantee to always have the first shot winning u majority of fights.

Eyes up guardians[/quote] Shiver strike, knockout, diamond lance are all some of the strongest things to ever go into the Crucible. The amount of sensationalizing and the rhetoric in people's posts is astounding. Top dawns success rate in Trials is less than 1% difference from Prismatic Hunter. Balance nerfs are retracted because the execution leaves them at a disadvantage that is not acceptable for the most POPULAR CLASS IN THE GAME. Attempts to entice people to come off the class leaves them disproportionately affected. Blowing up the grenade by shooting a single explosive is an acceptable change.

                  I swear if they just nerf ability damage by 50% in pvp it would be perfect

                  • I have less issue with smoke or hunter abilities being nerfed than the fact they nerf warlock abilities into the ground but dont do the same for hunters. Just make the game fair and balanced. I fully expect to go blind from smoke, and for them to dodge. I do NOT expect my abilities to not work. Warlock void grenade is supposed to suck enemies in, except it simply does not work effectively enough to merit using it. I honestly burn my grenades for multiple turrets because i can get multiple kills that way. One grenade that doesnt even work 80% of the time aint worth it.

                    • It’s so bad rn. Maybe the worst ever. Same builds over and over and over. Ability spam is off the charts. Weapon balance is a joke. It’s hard to even overstate all the things that aren’t right in PvP. The approach from Bungie is not working. Since witchqueen every choice they made to “fix” PvP has made it worse. It’s overdue for a new approach.

                        I think the hunter need a buff to like moth exotic. we should get more healing my dodge barely gives me health. while a titan throws his shield down and gets half back not to mention one eye mask needs its eye rip out
