Lobby Balancing is making Control unplayable
The majority of my games feel like my team had no chance at winning. It’s obvious right from the start.
Statistically, I’m a pretty strong player. I don’t say that to brag. It’s just what it is. And it feels like because of this, I usually get the 5 worst players to “balance” me out. This basically ensures that me and my 5 randos have a miserable time.
I know people like to blame SBMM and whatnot but I honestly don’t even think it’s that. It’s the Lobby Balancing. Idk what happened to it. Bungie has stated they made improvements to it but it feels worse now more than ever. And with our other 6v6 options this week being Team Scorched and Relic…there’s no place to go for a casual 6v6 session.
If you’re a good player, it truly feels like casual 6v6 is dead.

Editado por Nimune: 2/16/2024 1:25:53 PMOne should not care about winning in quickplay. The 50/50 win/loss ratio makes it pointless. Just focus on your own play. You get forced losses eventually. This also makes playing objective total waste of time.

Its been the biggest issue in PvP for a while, and its been getting worse. That, and joining games in progress.

add to this the cheaters and crap internet and it's a complete recipe for disaster, agreed control is now mostly miserable to play. when the score is 3-30 in the first 15 seconds.. you know something is very wrong.

4 RespuestasThe problem with destiny currently from a game balance and lobby balance perspective.. WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS PLAYING. in pvp you may have few players at any given time playing.. 5k-10k players at most. Then to balance them out etc with the players not currently in game but looking to MM. And remember, bungie didn't want winning to matter, even though if bloody well does. You keep score, there are winners and loosers. Nobody wants to constantly loose.

This ruins the entire game outside of pve. Is the worst version of matchmaking I've ever seen in any game my whole life. Studio is incompetent.

This. I'm a pretty decent player in pvp, but I'm constantly in matches where 1 side steamrolls the other, and I'm usually on the team getting destroyed. I hate pvp with a passion in Destiny because of how they've handled it.

Your team: 1 REALLY good player carrying the team, you (unless you're the carry), rest of the team is people average or below players. Their team: Also 1 really good player carrying the team, rest are players better than everyone on your team.

Sbmm for new people, the balancing machine for middle tier people and none of that for those who can take it. "None of that" would represent a bold new frontier for the game, where players are players and the more you score the better you do.

It's lobby balanacing with sbmm and fbmm combined making 6v6 completelly shi*. I tried playing with my full clan in qp and we stayed in queue for 10 minutes until all of us got timed out. After that we all got off to play something else. The issue has alaways been the MM making queue times awfull.

2 RespuestasThe lobby balance issue is from CBMM. If it was near SBMM people would be near the same relative ability. I doubt they can predict how crossplay lag will affect players. Honestly, when they started using loose SBMM I quit playing because because of lag and having 2 or 3 people in every match clobbering everyone. Don't beat me up about CBMM/SBMM I don't really care, I'm just pointing out my observations from my point of view. Too much SBMM means sweaty slow matches. Not necessarily that good. Ideally, it would be nice to have matches that are not laggy and face people who are around your range. it's nice to face people who are better than you and you can learn from them. As long as the skill gap is not too far apart.

This is my number one complaint in the game. I think that they thought SBMM would take care of lobby balancing and we're all seeing the results.

less people are play, only the hardcores are sticking around, making it hard to balance the game around it.. they said there making checkmate the new normal so.......... i dont think more casuals will play. i mean i stopped playing cause checkmate was forced in control for 3 weeks. (iron banner did show up in the middle tho) and i never really went back cause i started playing other games instead. if checkmate never happened id probably would of been playing a lot more pvp.... but i cant prove that most of the normal 6v6 pvp players had left. im just speaking for myself and what i think happend.

1 RespuestaEditado por Coal: 2/16/2024 10:10:25 PMI have no idea what system Bungie is currently using for mm, however, I stopped playing quickplay months if not over a year ago since they got rid of connection based matchmaking. Ever since then, quickplay has been more sweaty than comp or trials. Regardless of whatever mm system that’s being used right now, player population is currently low, so if there’s any sort of skill-factor being used to match make, it probably isn’t working as intended due to the low population.

It looks even numbers" Then the next thing I know I'm getting gunned down by 3 or 4 of the enemy team and I look around to see my team mates all died on me and are now on the other side of the map. Or the classic, "I have a team mate who is watching this area. I'll count on them to watch my back as I check this opening behind their back" and then immediately proceed to die from behind because that teammate died. Also can never forget the traditional game of ring around the rosie. You get into an encounter and are immediately outmatched because the entire enemy team is bunched together taking a point. You then look over to find your own team all bunched together taking an enemy point on the other side of the map, and the two teams just perpetually circle the map, and anyone who wants to actually engage gets punished by being the only one to do so against the entire other team.
