I've heard the insane backlash from other developers about how BG3 over delivered and how that was a mistake because it will make other developers fail on not being able to deliver as much and whatever. I'm taking a side. I started playing BG3 and it's the most amazing game since the release of Skyrim. Better even. It's one of the best games I ever played and worth every penny. I realized that life exists outside of Destiny. I've been playing since D1 year 1 and I haven't pre-ordered final shape which is unheard of for me. It still feels weird not having it pre-ordered. But I had to put my foot down after light fall. And it's staying down. Even if there isn't another amazing release like BG3 ever again I know now that there are other things happening in life that can be just as great. I don't need to be married to destiny and give it everything I have just because I've been playing it for almost a decade. Release good content that's right by your consumers and not just good cosmetics in micro transactions or I'm not buying it. Sorry in advance, but if final shape doesn't deliver what this title has needed for years I'm not buying it. I don't care about "missing out" on 1 or 2 things anymore. DELIVER Bungie. I love this universe and don't want to see it end but I have the eulogy written and I will read it if it doesn't bring to the table what i pay for. Good luck and get busy.

1 RespuestaI won’t look at BG3 unless the save bug is/gets fixed.

14 RespuestasEveryone is saying that D2 can't be compared to BG3, because one is a live-service game and one is an rpg... BUT It is $60 for BG3. It is $60 for D2 expansion. Please explain why I can't compare two games that cost the exact same.

Larian had 5 years to make ONE game, that's not live service. You're comparing apples to giraffes. I think we all speak for each other when we say that eulogy does not need to see anything other than the inside of your journal lol.

Larian Studios gave Baldur’s Gate 3 a development cycle of six years, three of which were spent in partial early access.* Destiny 2 receives yearly DLC expansions interspersed with quarterly Seasonal content drops which, per Bungie’s previous statements, tend to have a development cycle of roughly nine to twelve months each. I would surmise the devs at Bungie aren’t super happy that the general public likes to compare the relative level of polish of their yearly/quartely releases to games with drastically longer development times. As an example recall the number of posts on these forums that ragged on Beyond Light (released Nov. 10, 2020) in comparison to Cyberpunk 2077 (released Dec. 10, 2020), despite the latter being in development for nine years prior releasing on old gen systems in a state so broken it had to be pulled from digital storefronts. * https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/5/23860060/baldurs-gate-3-news-reviews-updates (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

And look at Todd Howard when starfield didn’t win anything’ last year at the game awards it was pure legend.

Editado por Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 1/30/2024 5:02:04 AMCyberpunk, BG3, Starfield, Dead Space remake, even replaying the Mass Effect trilogy/Andromeda and Skyrim has been a bit of a wake up call for me. Playing single player games a lot more often for the first time since before… probably Beyond Light, has reminded me how rewarding a game can be when a dev isn’t throttling loot for the sake of a live service model. Even then, D2 was much more fun and rewarding during the WQ year than it is now, largely because of crafting. I actually got and was able to use and try out with builds a lot of weapon rolls that I wanted and it was just so much fun. I played so much more last year than probably any other expansion year except maybe Forsaken. Then they scaled back player agency and bad luck protection. The “joy” of the random drop. Going back to less agency and bad luck protection has not been fun.

For all of our sakes, please don't fail.

4 RespuestasEditado por A_mo: 1/29/2024 2:32:04 PMI had to look up Baldur's Gate reviews because you didn't say what was good about it. So far the one thing I see from some of these games that traitors traitor to is that they have more camera work and hollywood level acting than Destiny does at present. Perhaps in the future we will reaaaalllllly feel what Zavala is feeling before he explodes stuff.
