Had a few ideas to make PvP more fun, growing up playing Halo I really enjoyed the vast amount of game modes that were available to the players especially Big Team Battles. The amount of fun had was through the roof, we had vehicular battles with banshees, and land tanks, warthogs and ghosts, spartan lasers and rockets going off blowing -blam!- up. Sniper bullets flying past people's faces it was intense. Huge maps that gave all players a fun environment to use their weapons albeit long range, or close range. Destiny lacks alot of the fun elements that was in Halo that should have already made it into Destiny. Dual wielding sidearm weapons would be bad -blam!-, or dual wield SMGs weapon archetype. One of my favorite things that was added to PvP was the ability to do Assasinations, I mean we have finishers why not let us have fun using these in PvP in an Assasination style. Some of these ideas would make Destiny PvP even more fun and engaging, and would be interesting to see how Assasination Finishers could change up the strategies of PvP in the competitive scene and Trials. This could also bring a few cool reward ideas for getting to those top ranks in Comp or going flawless with a new finisher specifically from doing so as a reward. Dual wielding weapons was a blast in Halo whether it was plasma pistols, needlers, smgs, or our trusty hand cannons it was fun. With the addition of the rocket sidearm it made me reminisce on the styles of gameplay and wish it were in Destiny. It could be a new exotic or legendary weapon that we could chase for and be interesting to see how it can be done in the Destiny Universe. Some Guardians might read this and say Why? Go play Halo if you want these. I say Why Not? Why should we need to go play Halo if it can be in Destiny. Hope to see some of these ideas come to life in the Destiny Universe so everyone can have some more fun. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year going forward into 2024.   • Combined arms inD1 was great. Actually made it challenging when people nabbed the emplaced turrets and mowed people down, or trudging on the mars map and having a split second to react as an interceptor goes to splatter you

      Bros. Destiny 2 PvP is over. Checkmate is the future of everything but Joe Blackburn said it’s going to be tuned further. Basically from I understood the abilities will be tuned down but the HP and TTKs on all guns will continue to be optimal across all D2 PvP game modes except Momentum of course. Once Joe and the team fully tune the TTKs and Checkmate takes over as the primary game mode reducing all ability spamming but literally keeping everything else the same it’ll be over for D2 PvP it’ll be…… THE FINAL SHAPE. Get used to checkmate abilities and gunplay if you’re gonna keep playing. It’s the future.

      • It lacks fun Halo had mainly because none of the original dives from Halo are working on this game. It doesn't even have a PvP team so I wouldn't expect much of anything to change other then what you have now.

        • What destiny really lacks is proper sandbox balance. Theres way too much ability spam, too many annoying abilities and just not enough focus on gunplay. Gunplay is the only strength this game had. With the sandbox ability clown fiesta the game is now, you might aswell pvp in warframe and we all know how that went LOL. Theres seemingly zero devs working on D2 that remotely have a clue about pvp balance.

            Dual welding Destiny weapons would end the fusion problem. It's somewhat hard to say people would react well to being finished in trials and comp. This is a game where some people have argued that t bagging should be bannable so it might not be seen as fun by some. The idea of them being assassination style is good though. It would be cool to have something like combined arms. The player population is probably split across too many playlists right now but if some of them left it could make room for that. That was a mode where you could really play it the way you wanted to without it detracting much from what other people were doing.

              Even starts, creative map design, the simple sandbox, and the slow pace really set Halo apart from Destiny 2. Well, Bungie Halo to be more specific, 343 Halo is a different subject altogether. I wish Destiny 2 was slower like it previously was. Arc and Strand should be the only way of going faster. Its obviously a personal preference, but for me, the speed of the game is what killed PvP.
