I don't this which is why I'm asking, is there a setting for that in the options menu?

That would be too helpful. Unlike fundamental things like radar opacity (almost worthless). And I'd like to disable Speed Booster too...

I kind of figured you had, but I didn't have any other ideas. If I may ask, is it a motion sickness kind of thing or is it a combination of that and the strobing that causes headaches?

Good question, I do get motion sick from time to time, so I do think it's that. I typically don't have an issue with strobing lights, but I think the repetitive nature of this is what makes it difficult to look at for too long. That's why I was thinking changing a screen shake setting could be helpful, but no luck so far.

I imagine that's rough playing a game like this. Maybe others that have the same issue will post about it and Bungie can make some adjustments like I think they did with some of the shaders and visual effects for people with photosensitivity issues. Good luck to you, however it shakes out!
