It feels weak as an exotic even by legendary standards.
It’s in air accuracy is nothing to write home about and if you don’t have a movement ability it makes a sitting duck in the air,the damage boost on it is also negligible if you aren’t using foetracer as well.
The range sucks compared to most smgs and it also gets outranged by sidearms with a faster ttk.
Soaring fang perk is kinda dumb too,why use it when a warlock can do the same thing with less effort?
It’s a gun that can do a lot without doing any of it well,it sucks in PVE and every other SMG is a way better option in PVP.
Wouldn’t it be nicer if it could also do poison damage like thorn or have a needles like effect? Just something that actually connects it to manticores besides wings.
It’s got to be the worst exotic SMG I’ve ever used.
No disrespect to the Developer team but whole heartedly this gun sucks and seriously needs some love.

I think it looks awesome but it's perks I don't like and it's too suicidal when should have made it tied to strand besides flying in the air with a SMG sounds gd but smgs have a range limit Would have been better if it was the exotic version of recluse or the SMG version of traveler chosen It looks basically like a alternate design straight out of borderlands 3

Manticore felt a rush-job at best. Deleted it at start. Then reacquired the second Season Pass unlock to complete the catalyst. When that's complete it'll be instantly dismantled again. It's also ugly and bulky as hell, both the base and ornament version.

It needs a faster way to disengage the hover, otherwise it's pretty good with the catalyst in pve. I've used it in raids and nightfalls without a problem.

To me the downside of the gun is the hover. I should not be slowed down in air. Only one that it should be happening to is probably the hunter because they dont glide and move quick in the air like Warlocks and titans. So if i am a titan or Warlock and start gliding fast, I shouldnt have airbrakes and moved to a crawl once i hit an enemy with that gun. It should keep the same momentum just add the hover.

The floating art is more of a gimmick rather has potential to be good, but has many problems: -getting stuck in the air isn’t a desirable place to be in -you can kill one person in the air, but run out of ammo before you can kill the second -the increased damage more or less just covers the fact that you’ll hit less shots while midair He did have a couple decent suggestions for a buff though (best one being the first imo): -landing shots while midair reloads the magazine (similar to how riskrunner keeps feeding the mag when dealt arc damage) -needs 100% in air accuracy when the perk is active This is all from a pvp perspective as the gun is all but worthless in pve. I’d imagine that the first suggested buff would make this thing a monster in pve though, especially with volatile rounds (from the aspect, gyrofalcons, etc).

2 RespuestasWhile airborne it should deal 10x damage in pve and maybe a perk like reconstruction so you can overflow the mag. For pvp maybe 2x damage similar to Tommy's. Maybe also give you a dodge while hovering

It should have been a direct fire (no projectile arc) solar heavy GL that fired a ball of barbs/shrapnel that exploded on impact and scorched targets. The catalyst should have suspended you in air while ADS and given you a slight damage resist buff.

Cool concept but it needs more to it. Particularly something else besides the gimmick. Like it’s fun to use but it’s worse than a decently rolled legendary in pve and in pvp it dosent do it’s job well enough to warrant using. Maybe if it took you off radar while flying or something. Make it an ambush exotic or something. Otherwise you are just floating waiting for someone to notice you if your charge for it dosent run out beforehand.

It feels very clunky in pve and I would imagine it’s better in pvp but I doubt it is as good as more straight forward exotics I do find using it with wings of sacred dawn pretty funny though

Frenzy perk Funnelweb does more job than manticore in pve and does not ruin exotic slot. On other hand creating a weapon with this perks in smg form is also big fundemental disaster. If bungie made it long range weapon such as scout or pulse than i will combine it with wings of scared down warlock exotic , i could do a heavy assault helicopter role in pvp. Currently this weapon serves neither pve nor nor pvp

Airborne + volatile rounds = pretty okay exotic. You just switch your weapons to drop to the ground, even though that’s still a hassle. However should it be the go too? …meh.

11 RespuestasI got this in my first 2 weeks of being a NL player and thought 'AWESOME! My first exotic! I'ma be a badass!' And then reality hit. The next time I even highlighted it in my vault was to equip the catalyst, but did nothing more to it since. And the only reason I did that was out of fear that Bungie only allowed you to hold so many catalysts and I didn't want to lose an available spot to hold another if I came across one. I still fear that today. Every time I get a cat, I'll go to my vault and equip it even if I don't use the weapon, or complete the task for its perk. Anyway, Manticore... Yea, not all that awesome. Side question in the exotic category... Monte Carlo... Why doesn't it have a cat? And what mods would work best with it on Warlock class?

1 RespuestaAt base, the gun is pretty much identical to a Funnelweb with Rangefinder and Perpetual Motion built into the stats. I honestly think it feels pretty great in PvP if it weren’t for the fact that if I shoot someone while I’m off the ground for even a second I just stop in place immobile. I feel like Bungie just picked the wrong weapon type for this exotic perk. In my opinion, they looked at Wings of Sacred Dawn and how people used them: either close range with SMGs and Shotguns hiding above doorways or long range scouts or snipers to get different angles for lanes. To succeed with the perk, try jumping up in doorways and shooting people as they try to chase you. I think this is what Bungie intended, but it didn’t come across well. An ambush exotic basically… the only problem is that the airborne part requires damage to keep you there, so you can set up ahead of time like with wings. Then they try to give it a damage bonus that’s really finicky and puts you in danger while in use for PvE. If they wanted the gun to succeed, making it an Auto or Scout would’ve been a better idea. Allowing you to use it as a lane-ing tool instead. Idk, just my thoughts
