I was replaying the Witch Queen on legendary and I moticed something odd. Savathun is able to use the Warlocks Nova Bomb and the Hunters Blade Barrage. How is that possible?
-
it might be because she possessed the light itself not a specific class, but its just a thought
-
It's possible she chose to possess Osiris because he was known for being able to cast all 3 elemental super in quick succession. This probably doesn't answer your question, but something I always thing about.
-
In the intro of D2 we saw Zavala use a Ward of Dawn (bubble). Would like to see him thundercrash though in a cut scene.
-
Lore wise, we can do it too
-
Ghual could also, it's a gameplay issue Anyone else notice Savathuns Nova bombs are lame , they behave more like giant vortex grenades than Nova bombs, and are easy avoidable If they tracked after they exploded like player Warlocks, witch queen would have been much much more interesting
-
She's like Apocalypse in X-Men, she has all the powers... Or analogous to greek mythology an evil Leto. Uldren is Apollo, Mara is Artemis 😉.
-
She's a Witch Queen Hive Goddess. That's how.
-
At the ogre blocking the door on the Final Mission to save the Traveller, Ikora does the same thing. She nova bombs the Ogre and then blows the Shield open with Arc (I think it was arc).
-
Long story short You can too in lore but for balace you can use just one
-
If this wasn't a video game with mechanics to balance it, we could do it too.

Editado por NerfPaladins06: 1/22/2023 4:58:59 AMI'm sure lorewise we can use all elements simultaneously as well, it's just game mechanics that force us to use only 1 at a time. Same for classes.
-
Classes weren’t always a thing in lore, there are cases of characters blinking into a shoulder charge!
-
Class identity is a concept designed by the Vanguard to sell you more bald people in power
-
It might also indicate her connection to the Light. It is possible that the Traveler knowing her true intentions knew she would be strong enough to wield all the subclass types at the same time. She is ageless and makes sense for her to develop that mastery over a short period of time. Otherwise people explained it well enough here... A lot of cases where it just isn't clear cut.
-
It's nothing new, gaul during the Red War did it too.

Editado por Emurinus: 1/21/2023 11:51:33 PMLorewise, Guardians can use their abilities far more fluidly than gameplay suggests. Experienced Guardians, such as Osiris and Ikora, can very quickly jump between multiple subclass supers. Classes are also more of a gameplay mechanic than anything, as there are also examples of Gaurdians using abilities cross-class (such as Felwinter shoulder charging as a Voidwalker).
-
Lore wise, there isn’t nearly as much restriction or rigidity with abilities. It’s just a matter of learning. The classes are entirely arbitrary. You’re not locked into hunter, warlock, or Titan abilities when you get revived. The gameplay restrictions exist just to give a purpose to there being different classes.
-
Same way Ikora was able to yeet a nova bomb and then immediately use a chaos reach. Lore wise subclasses aren't really cut and dry. Osiris was able to quickly swap and activate all three types of warlock super (nova bomb, storm trance and dawnblade) in very quick succession. Technically our Guardain can do the same (use all supers at once) but gameplay reasons we are limited to only one at a time. Also class specific abilities gameplay wise are not the same lore wise. Felwinter is a great example of this. They are (as far as we know) the only warlock to ever perform a shoulder charge, thanks to Jolder teaching him how. If memory servers Felwinter activated blink and then as they exited blink went straight into a shoulder charge. Savathûn was able to wield any super she wanted at any time because there is no true "class system" for the Hive and she was the first Risen Hive. Plus game play reasons.
I was replaying the Witch Queen on legendary and I moticed something odd. Savathun is able to use the Warlocks Nova Bomb and the Hunters Blade Barrage. How is that possible?
Because Guardians aren’t tied by classes, Light is light and classes are focused practices by light bearers. Subclasses are specific teachings. Thats how the game does it lore

Good lord...

Editado por SolarCerberuS: 1/22/2023 12:08:03 AMShe merely switches subclasses on the fly, same as we can for most content. Bit suss though she gets her super way too often, I think the -blam!- is hacking 😉
