Why is The Witness called "The Witness"
My theory is that he is one of the first beings in the flower game made by The Winnower and he witnessed the darkness entering the game or "the creation of the darkness" there probably is no lore to this but idk let me know if there is though

Maybe he’s just kinda there witnessing everything and now with the traveler goin all weirdlike with the hive and the guardians taking darkness power without being part of the darkness’s side, he’s kinda fed up

The Winnower didn’t make anything in the Flower Game. That was the Gardner. The Winnower [i]winnows[/i], separates the wheat from the chaff. A few species escaped. Worm Gods and Ahamkara. The Witness may have been one. Or it was just one of the first species to be empowered and survived all this time. Could be really cool and be a being that spans multiple timelines. An apex darkness user that is trying to merge his other selves, his own literal final shape. Witness could mean witnessing the creation, witnessing the unfolding of the cosmos, witnessing the ending of the cosmos. Without the background, it’s impossible to say.

In contemplative/meditative traditions, the most basic level of consciousness—Flow state, The Zone—is often referred to as “Witness Consciousness”. Or “Formless Consciousness”. It may also explain why he and his disciples (!) often refer to themselves in [i]salvific[/i] terms (“We are not your enemies. We are your salvation!”)

I have two theories, the less likely is that it's called the witness because it witnessed the collapse. However, this theory doesn't hold much weight, bc rhulk calls it the witness, and rhulk was around way before our collapse. The more likely reason is bc it is meant to witness the final shape, the final shape of course being itself. It is to be the last thing in existence, thus being the only one capable of witnessing the final shape. OR it doesn't want to BE the final shape, but instead wants to witness it, and then die with the knowledge of what creature made it to be last.

That the Warmind had set up essentially his imagination with the garden, that expanse in both directions. The Warmind that encapsulated and tied existence of the universe to the anomaly. A paradox people cannot grasp, a chicken laying an egg, and the egg leading to THE chicken. A Warmind that expressed it will survey everything and protect humanity on its own terms...that whole no human/peer review.
