You really want to go back to D2Y1 levels of boring with exotics being handed out like sweets?
RNG exotic drops have been a core part of the games identity since the beginning.

Yep year one of destiny two was bad because players was farming public events for exotics and double worst of giving them out way to early in the red war campaign when you reached Titan and Io they was giving them out like there’s no tomorrow.

I'd argue they're being handed out like candy with the RNG drops. If you do enough checkpoints, you'll get it eventually. While a questline requires you to do more effort. It adds more content to the game, like Whisper, Zero Hour or other exotic quests.
I'd argue they're being handed out like candy with the RNG drops.
You don't believe that, otherwise you wouldn't have made this post. Stop being a fence sitter. When was the last time bungie made a good exotic quest? It was Outbreak or Whisper, which clearly they can't or don't want to make quests like that anymore. Like I said, RNG drops have been a thing for ages. Removing RNG drops makes the game boring pure and simple, what you mean to say is you want the RNG improved.

They are being handed out though. As long as you do enough boss CPs, you'll get it. There's little to no effort required. While a quest actually forces you to do an objective like clear the entire raid or do something during the raid. Just look at how many people are farming Atheon for Vex during the VoG weeks. Do you serious think that's more enjoyable than doing something like D1 Outbreak? The only RNG improvement they could make to make it interesting is to not add a cap to the percentage. Let it hit 100% so people are at least guaranteed their exotic at some point. Besides, the last good exotic quest was Parasite. It just wasn't a secret.

How on earth do you, the OP, forget what the topic is about. You've made this post because you think exotics don't drop enough and think they need to up the chances for exotics to drop. You're still sitting on the fence telling me that exotics drop plenty from raids and that they require little effort to obtain while simultaneously saying that they dont drop enough and they need to be removed, which is it? What's the problem? Just go run 3 raids a week and come back if it's that easy, they drop like candy right? Every raider is all for quests like outbreak, but they don't make them the same anymore. I'll be honest I don't even really remember what the parasite quest involved. RNG exotics don't need removing, we just need more secret quest content that we were promised eververse would fund.

So you assumed that the point of the post is that raid exotics don't drop often enough? Of course not. The point it that it's all RNG nowadays instead of an actual quest. Exotics that used to be quests got shoved down to plain RNG. I'd prefer them to be quests, that's all. RNG drops take no effort. The effort is the fun part. It's what makes the exotic fun to get. RNG turns the grind into a chore that every raider dreads. It's not fun to do a raid hundreds of times for a single item, only to get disappointed every week. Even if you know that it'll eventually drop for no effort, it's just not fun.

You're probably the same kind of person that loved static rolled guns in year 1.

Yeah, like how we're talking about a game that's got grinding embedded in it's core and not a slot machine.
