Veteran Players are not New Lights
Bungie,
While I appreciate you putting in as much as you can to help the New Lights coming in, I am not one. I'm a Veteran player. Been with Destiny since the beginning. Yet, I keep getting stuff to do that is meant for New Lights on a character that is not. Is it possible to put in a choice to opt out of the New Light storyline and choose the Veteran one? Or have the game recognize that you/your character is a Veteran? I just got the Solar and Arc quest lines to do, and I completed them, but I was thinking they were going to open up those subclasses to work like the new Void one does. Instead, it was Ikora speaking to me like I had no idea what Arc or Solar was or did.
If it's possible, please fix this or offer an opt out for the Veteran players so we can move on to other things. Thanks.

I think it's a glitch. I had them pop up on my hunter in week 2 of Witch Queen, and then they popped up again at the start of this week. I think they mentioned it being a bug in one of the TWABs.

I mean, most veterans know why this is happening. It's because there's an issue with new lights not getting the quests and so bungie has to throw them at everyone to get them out. But why is it an issue? It takes like literally half a raid or a few strikes to casually get them done. Plus it's free XP, I'll take any points I can get on this grind to hit 1590 before the master Vow drops

Hello! Hopefully I can provide a useful answer to this. Recently, actual new lights have been getting bugged or having issues with these quests and not being able to access the subclasses, but Bungie hasn't been able to fully fix the problem as of yet. Their current solution was to just give the quests to everyone so that the new lights can have access, and it has happened a few times so far. Hopefully they will be able to fix the problem soon but until then, you should probably expect this to happen a few more times.

Why feel Bungie the need that i do the "Stoking the flame (TRILOGY) Five times in a row, or the Beyond mission on the moon? Does not 3 times per 3 characters suffice? Why is it that when Bungie UPDATE their game all these campaigns pop up, and there is not way for me to get rid of them, besides completing them one more time. Im an old light with enough money to pay the electric bill!

Its the second time it happend to me but tbh i dont mind its a easy quest that gives you xp. A free seasonal lvl.

Lol we were running same class and subclass triumph in the raid and all of us had the unlock for the arc and solar pop up at the boss. Was quite comical

I seriously question what goes on in their build pipeline, this -blam!- just doesn't happen with other studios. Version control exists for a reason. This happens all the time with Destiny, a problem gets "fixed" and then mysteriously comes back, or morphs into something worse. It's baffling that they haven't changed things to keep this from happening.

92 RespuestasI had to finish these twice already since witch queen even tho i finished them 4 years ago already. Has nothing to do with you not being recognized as a vet, its pure incompetence of the devs to fix anything in their ancient game engine. Some people couldnt get the solar and arc subs caused by some issue with the changes to void 3.0 and therefore they gave everyone the quests for the third time cause they literally are incapable of maintaining a live service game properly. Thats also the reason the DCV exists. Garbage game infrastructure and no will to code it better. They are just bandaid fixing constantly.

9 RespuestasI got the arc and solar quests yesterday. Took them both out in 1 match of Gambit. Non-issue.

So on my Hunter I have the New Light quest. It is NOT possible to delete it on any step. So if I do Psiops Battlegrounds: Cosmodrone. My screen for the first five minutes is entirely covered in telling me how to fast travel. You are forced to do the entire New Light campaign once you have it or going to Earth is hell cause it will try to force you to do the New Light quest, even if your in a -blam!- Nightfall and can't.

Why can't i just be a bad light? I want to join the Fallen! They have much cooler gear, armor and weapons and they can take a beating contrary to the Titan i have. Feels like a heavy wet fart!

Yea its a bug.... Happened twice this season so far The quest is a nothing quest that will be done by just playing You seriously want thought it was to unlock solar and arc 3.0 😂

Got them to, where done in no time and i didnt mind. Got prob something to do with the hotfix.
