MAJOR WITCH QUEEN SPOILERS!
Ok so here’s a little theory. From the final cutscene with the witness we can see in the glass containers some species. Some of them look like exos ,cabal and vex. The witness also says “no more life” “ no more death”.
So what if the witness is a collector freeze species so they’re not dead or alive. Furthermore the witness is probably the entity behind the darkness and stasis freezes things so what the witness is using stasis to freeze things so he can have make a giant collection.
Savathûn also says in one of the cutscenes to the traveler “I chased you first as an enemy then as a collector, now as a supplicant. I think this is a reference to the hive crusades (for more info watch Byf’s Dynasty) where at first they encountered the ammanites with the traveler then fought in a big war as enemy’s. I forget when but when Oryx communicates with the darkness he gains the power to take so maybe after communicating with the darkness they tried to collect the traveler for the witness. Which could also mean the taken to take is a way to preserve. This last big is big speculation into the true nature of the darkness but I kind of fits the theory that the Witness is a collector.

The “No more Death, no more Life” line is referring to the philosophy of the Winnower we glimpsed in the Unveiling lore book. The Witness believes that the Traveler uplifting species only prolongs their suffering, as in the end they are all destined to die anyways. Think of Humanity, in the Witness’s eyes the Dark Age, City Age, all of that bloodshed was unnecessary and it would’ve been better to simply let us exhaust our planets resources and go extinct.

5 RespuestasI sincerely doubt the Witness is a collector.

If you look at one of statues on the left side…… it vaguely resembles a cabal enemy
