This Xbox console is designed to automatically shut down to protect it from insufficient ventilation.
Like other electronic devices, the Xbox console requires proper ventilation. To help prevent another automatic shutdown:
- Do not block any of the ventilation openings on the console or power supply.
• Do not place the console or power supply in a confined space or fully enclosed space, such as a closed stereo cabinet, or
bookshelf entertainment center, unless the space is well ventilated and cabinet doors are open.
• Do not place the console or power supply on a bed, sofa, or other soft surface that may block ventilation openings.
• Do not place the console or power supply near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or amplifiers.
Got this after my console booted back up. The console is on a table next to my tv in the open.
It’s 63° in this room.

Its a known catastrophic bug on your series x. Had my series x for about a week and it would randomly shut off. Started to do it more frequently as time went on. Them got to a point where it wouldnt even turn on. I sent back to microsoft for repair and since havnt a single instance of it shutting down.

I run a One X also has this problem, but it only happens in certain places in D2. The Tangled Shore for me was notorious for this problem. Other games I play didnt have this problem, and I keep it well dusted both inside and out.

You are not alone, I know of 6 other people who have had the same problem. Everytime I try to open that one chest it’s broken my Xbox lol
-
Do you dust it often ? If you do and rule that out your console may be defective Or destiny bug might be causing it wait for next patch If still not fixed send it to Microsoft to be checked for defects because it shouldn’t be doing that my series s runs destiny fine
