Put in off-topic because the topic is not specific enough. tl;dr I'm considering jumping ship from Halo to Destiny. How tight-knit is the Destiny community? And how forgiving is the game to new comers at this late stage of it's development? The details: I've played Halo since the beginning. I was active on Bnet back in the golden years. My biggest gripe with the Halo franchise is the current state of the community. I love every Halo game, but I actually hate the community. And from the outside all I hear is how highly Destiny fans speak of their franchise. Destiny has always been in the background for me. I have every reason to enjoy this game, but never gave it more than a few hours effort. Not because it's bad, but because I have always gone back to Halo. I know you all have a big update coming tomorrow. I have just a few questions: 1) Are you familiar with what is going on over at Halo Waypoint, Reddit Twitter? Does your community participate in similar levels of absurd discourse? In short are destiny fans more likely to attack or defend their franchise? Is there camaraderie here? 2) Is a new player able to jump in with Witch Queen? I've played Destiny before, but I don't recall much at all about it. Consider me fresh.
