Eternal Warrior is a pretty cool looking exotic, right? Especially with the Ornament "Nephrite Paragon". Would be a shame if that exotic would be pretty useless and the ornament busted because of specific parts not shading with shaders, right?
Exactly this is the case.
Eternal Warrior was released back in Warmind (that's 15 seasons ago!). It was released for a sandbox that had no special ammo and where supers worked a bit different. And it was never popular, not even in Warmind.
Dear Bungie. Why did you not improve and buff this helmet ever since it was introduced? Most exotics are like on Version 2.0 or 2.5 of their original release, but Eternal Warrior is STILL in 1.0 phase since Warmind in case of its function. The overshield is not even that strong to justify an exotic slot.
Why is this helmet so darn useless outside of your fists of havoc super?
Also, why is the Forsaken Ornament so busted? Why are there only like 3 shaders that make the helmet look like complete Jade, because you baked the green color of the Jade into your diffuse map???
For those not knowing the name/perk of the exotic (I don't blame you for that), Eternal Warrior does the following:
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc"
In detail, aside of the obvious, the exotic helmet perk is obsolete. In PvE there is really no need for an Overshield when using Fists of Havoc. In PvP it can be helpful, but now with the Super Tiers in the game the exotic became like 2x more bad than it was before.
Why does it have a D2Y1 perk still? Why has it (as far as I know) never been adressed why the exotic is that way? Why was it never changed to something more usefull like...
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, Barricade has enhanced HP and shorter cast time."
OR
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, Barricade has 2 charges."
OR
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, casting Barricade reduces incoming weapons flinch moderately for a short time."
OR
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, casting Barricade grants enhanced Melee damage for your next Melee attack."
OR
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, charged Melee blinds enemies for a short Time."
OR
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, Pulse Grenades have increased Range."
OR
"Resolute - Gain an overshield when activating Fists of Havoc, Melee kills grant a small amount of Super energy."
There are tons of possible buffs! I already named 7 possible buffs that would make the helmet more useful in both PvE and PvP without going against the "Striker"-subclass identity, because that isn't hard. It is THE worst exotic for Titan at the moment... Not even for a moment... But since 2 Years!
Second thing that annoys me on the exotic are the intrinsically green Jade parts of the ornament. I know DMG_04 said in another Post that they will look into it and I hope they do. However, I want to give my own input about this too.
There are right now 6 Shaders that make the Ornament "Nephrite Paragon" look the same/almost the same like the green parts on the helmet. Those shaders are:
- Vibrant Medusa (Season of Warmind)
- Metropolitan Acoustic (Forsaken)
- Smashing Success (Forsaken)
- Petiolora Growth (Warmind)
- Malachite Gold (Revelry)
- Watermelon (Red War)
Every other shader keeps the default colors and completely rams the green parts into your face.
I also can tell you players why the color is unchangable. As I mentioned above, the color is "baked" into the diffuse map of the original texture. To explain the 3D-Design terms a bit better, you can look up this Link to see what the differences are.
There are several sets and universal ornaments that match pretty well with that helmet, but the green Jade parts (which never shade because of the default texture) keep ruining every constellation aside of those where you use the 6 shaders named above.
That is incredibly low count for Individualization for an Ornament. Unless you prefeer using shaders that make you "Jade Greenface" and if you like that look.
Making those parts shaderable and buffing the exotic will only make the exotic more useful and get it out of the Pit of Heresy it has fallen into from Titans perspective since the very moment it got released.
Above you can find a Link/Picture-Preview of quick changes done within Blender to the Models shaders to make the diffuse map shade in one color. Just so you can see how the Ornament would look with full-color shading.
That's all I have to say. Thank you for reading.

Editado por hate n payne: 12/26/2021 9:58:38 AMAgreed. I have suggested that each exotic have a couple of the following: Super perk ie Change how the super or abilities work instead of super energy. Additional neutral game perk ie weapon, abilities or enchanted utility for surrounding players

1 RespuestaLong post but 100% correct. I would add one more perk tho. Resolute - Gain overshield upon activating Fists of Havoc. Arc kills from any source grant additional super energy.
