We're long overdue for ENTIRELY NEW PVP MAPS (not D1 or vaulted) It's been 4 years since launch.
3 years after Destiny 1 was released we got largely new pvp maps with Destiny's 2 launch. It has now been 4 years after Destiny 2's 2017 launch and we are way way overdue for entirely new maps. I don't mean old d1 maps or vaulted maps but entirely new maps.
The maps aren't just stale now. Many are plain bad even in 6 v 6. Bad spawns have not been fixed on some maps. Maps like convergence spawn you too far from the fight, other maps are way too cluttered like twilight gap. In trials some maps are way too big for 3 v 3 or simply cater to shot gun rushers. I'm not gonna dismiss the appeal of some classics like Burnout nor am i gonna claim that all the maps are fundamentally bad. But really, players are past due for all new maps. 4 years with the same maps is long enough. It's time for a "refocus" on all new pvp maps.
NOT OLD D1 MAPS. NOT OLD D2 MAPS. NOT JUST ONE NEW. ALL BRAND NEW. IT'S BEEN 4 YEARS.

Other games do it. Bungie itself used to release all kinds of new maps for d1. They arguably have more resources now with eververse and the scam they pull on people making them buy dlc more than once. They're lazy and dishonest. That's the only excuse for no maps. People also want to talk about how this is a pve first game. Well the pve sucks in this game too. The seasonal modes are the same thing for the most part and the current raid is a reskinned d1 raid. Strikes are dead. Gambit is beyond dead. Where's the actual content this company is developing? Half the reason I won't go back to PvP after being a PvP first type a guy a long time ago is the lack of variety in PvP. Maps are the same and the matchmaking is horrid.

These guys aren't capable of doing any such thing. All they ever do is reuse and reskin -blam!-. They don't have a creative bone in their bodies.

9 RespuestasI wonder how hard it can be to create pvp maps. I'm always amazed at how few there are - there should be 50-100 distinct maps in rotation so even the hardcores don't easily find the cheese spots.

3 RespuestasThe maps don’t really make a difference. They work well enough. Spawns feel meh but it’s more the speed of the game has changed pretty drastically. They also said we’re getting more maps in witch queen so I genuinely don’t get why you’d post this when they said when more are arriving

1 RespuestaCrucible in general just sucks -blam!-. These guys haven't a clue and just flood the game with no skill -blam!- guns. Crucible use to require a bit of skill and practice. Now it is just any stupid no-skill gun wielding shitter that wants to pretend they are good. Go play Halo or Cod. While not perfect they at least are fun and engaging. This game is so dead, boring and lame. It is nothing but a wallet and time farm on bungles part while they suck every ounce of fun out of it.

They've already said we'll have 1 new map in 2022. I'm assuming the next new map after that will be in 2023. I don't know how people can run the same few maps over and over and over again (same with strikes). Bungie just changes a few numbers around on weapons and armour once or twice a year and calls it content. Then off we go using the next meta they have created on the same few maps again.

4 Respuestaswould be cool if they did a pvp centric expansion... hear me out. all D1 and D2 vaulted maps return, at least 5 new maps are introduced, new and returning game modes (rift, SRL, KotH, multi team clash, All Exotics, Just Guns, big team battle 8v8, etc). the story could revolve around Shaxx and a rouge pvp god guardian. Crucible maps could be apart of the mission play areas, for instance you start somewhere on earth and the mid way point of the mission takes place in twilight gap. The final missions could be where you have to 1v1 the rouge guardian in different maps because they keep escaping before you can finish them off until the last mission. the plot could be that the rouge guardian is trying to corrupt the crucible by flooding it with darkeness (all enemy types) and after killing the guardian the path for the darkness expands letting in a huge raid boss.

Lightfall will be the end for me. I'm off the Destiny train at that stop. No more Bungie products for me after that.
