Trial labs Changes

Absolutely AWFUL. Bungie how the hell did this get greenlit for labs. You forced us all to play it and its terrible. IT PROMOTES CAMPING with Stag and Citan's Ramparts! This isn't trials this is Camping for noobs. After my first flawless I'm not playing this -blam!- for the rest of the weekend. Bungie you -blam!- up big time with this I hate it. I'm fine with the special ammo change but this is also stupid If this change was to see if it helps casual players, it doesn't. If they face top tier players or even other teams with stag or Citan's. This is the opposite of what trials should be. The map wormhaven shouldn't be a map because its too big and the middle flag only benefits titans and warlocks especially because of the cover. If anything why wasn't the flag at B or in front of the wall at Heavy????? Those spots are way more open and you have a greater risk since its so exposed. No capture flag should have cover to hide behind while capturing! The change to Special I enjoy but I also hate.1 It promotes more primary gunplay. 2 when you get revived and have no ammo for your special it means your forced to play with your primary now but you're punished for not having any special to use against the other team now when they are pushing you immediately after reviving. I like the Current change to special more than labs change. Labs is entirely bad all around with one of the worst maps that promotes camping. And thanks to your decision it now official. I also dislike how you forced everyone to play Labs instead of keeping it on the side and i can guarantee your player base will dramatically drop because of the trash you forced on all of us that came out this weekend. You only did one thing right this weekend and that's not making the Messenger the adept weapon this weekend. Voice your opinions on this post to bungie please I want them to see their mistake oh and bungie this is constructive from someone that loves your game ;)

  • I came here to complain about the 3 stacks and can't wait for the flawless pool tomorrow and freelance upcoming. That last guys 2 page article gave me a headache, ouch.

  • Bungie is trying to improve the player count. Sadly, they have no idea what they are doing. Next week, it will be all about how many players played trials and how many matches and flawless were counted. This is meaningless maths as it is not about fun and balance and it is all about engagement. Bungie may be afraid of losing playerbase since making Trials a paid content but these kind of changes are just going to push players away. Flawless matchmaking has been the sh*tshow of the week. Every first match on the card is just against a flawless carrying a scrub. Most of the time the flawless due just push forward and scrub is either a bait or a capture drone. Unless bungie fixes this carry culture, this game mode is not going anywhere. I would rather play fortnite sh*t than this ret**fest and I hate that game!

    • I just want to know why this so-called "anti-cheat" does nothing to these Playstation players skipping around the map and not registering damage. Wtf is this nonsense? Every single match.

      • Well, might as well give my 2 cents on this. I only played for a short bit earlier today and I have to say the capture point is a terrible addition to the mode. I really haven’t played much Trials in D2 but the recent changes 2 weeks ago made it more enticing for me to play it. It did feel more balanced in regards to the teams in my experience. Still didn’t go flawless. The following week, it was definitely more lopsided matchmaking. No flawless and 3 stacks were more prevalent, along with obvious carries. However, once I eventually got to the 7 wins on a flawed card, matches became way less sweaty and teams seemed to be a bit easier to beat. But this…. I got my -blam!- handed to me. I’m not a great player by any means. Blueberries only focused on the capture point and ignoring revives. 3 stacks vs. us randoms? Of course I could have LFG’d but, I typically go into activities solo if the option is there. I know the flawless pool isn’t active but, I would love to see a better matchmaking system. 3 stacks shouldn’t be up against 3 randoms. Remove the capture point and keep it as the zone at the end of each round. As someone mentioned, we have Control, Momentum Control and Iron Banner if we wanna play that way. Don’t make Trials about a single control point. On top of that, Trials Labs should have been a separate selection from “traditional” Trials. Forcing us into Labs was NOT a good idea. I will probably try some more matches but, I’m really not looking forward to it.

        • It’s not like comp doesn’t exist which would be a logical place to test things like this. I get splitting playlists is bad so they didn’t want to do that. This whole thing is so funny how fast they went from improving trials to wrecking it.

I've heard some streamers talk about how the control point "doesn't make it feel much different" but that's because they are hardcore quick-killer types that end the match before the control point even begins. For us normal folks who have to be a little more thoughtful and strategic, the control point doesn't give any time for that... so one of our team mates that typically could methodically take out all 3 players if 2 of us died is forced to go die at the point instead or lose to the control. Anyway... really disappointed that the first week of Trials changes was fantastic, 2nd week was flawed, and this week is unplayable... now we have to wait two weeks before we get to Trials again and ultimately have no clue what surprise Lab will await us at that time. X

            • Matchmaking is fine this week but between map and mode? This is god awful. This doesn't work. Needs to be removed.

              It's already over. By the time they get it "fixed" from the tinkering, everyone will mostly have the loot they want and it'll only be for 1% of players. Pretty unsustainable.

                It’s not that bad. It’s not GOOD. I see how they thought it could work. And honestly I hate this map, so maybe I would like it better on other maps, but that’s part of trials. Using your knowledge of the map to your advantage. When you can’t play the map where you want to, it ruins one of your most important advantages. They won’t keep it around. Im curious to see what happens with player retention. Personally I won’t be playing trials until Sunday anymore. It shouldn’t take that long to get 7 non-flawless wins.

                  • Trials wasn't that great before either you know. It's jus it's jus the same activity over and over every week. Where's the variety. To me flawless means no matter what obstacles come my way, I overcame them, and I won. Getting flawless before didn't mean you were good, it jus meant that you were too used to that mode. Being the best means that you're literally the best at adapting to change. I think this is the start of a great idea. Maybe they could implement a new mode each match, that way you're not doing the same thing over and over. There are reasons as to why bungie is doing this. One of them is that instead of going off on your own, you can utilize your team so that you can actually strategize a plan to win. There's a reason why this game incorporates fireteams. It's so that you can work together. Figure out what each of you is good at, and use each other's strength. Trust in each other. I do believe that there should be a matchmaking thing where you can either play by yourself or you could play with a team. Cause everybody's always talking about how "my team is trash" and "the matchmaking sucks". We'll I got news for you. In real life, there are times where you're gonna get put with someone that you don't like. Get over it, cause that's life. There's a reason why it's called "Trials of Osiris". This is one of your trials, so find a way to overcome it. Stop whining and make something useful of your situation. Most of you who are complaining expect things to be handed to you. Work for your keep. Actually use your brains in this game. Plus, if there's something you don't like, stop crapping on Bungie, and try to make helpful suggestions that aren't rude. I hate listening to whining. Start acting like an adult and stop lashing out at everything. Sure there are stuff that needs to be changed but it not gonna help you or bungie by posting spiteful rants like this🤦🏾‍♂️.

                    • Didn't win one game/match with blueberries this week; yes, it was awful, unlike last week. Went LFG and apparently the "I think I'm a sweat and good" we're looking for carries (unlike last week). The teams we were up against were unreal. I'd love to see the stats on flawless first-timers this week. I did manage a seven win card and weekly on two characters, but it was ugly and brutal; not to mention the toxicity that came out. I feel like half the try hards were exploiting and the other half --just that good. We shouldn't be playing either. So unbalanced this week. Good job Bungie for satisfying the cry babies from last week.

                    • I'm not too into trials this week. The map was a bad choice for one and this half elimination - half control option makes things more confusing and harder to play. I'm either getting rushed now while trying to defend the point to capture, or eliminated and left without a chance to defend myself with this new special ammo option. If ANYTHING, knowing data may wane due to the dislikeness of the activity, make trials labs separate from trials and offer significantly better rewards for playing an "experiment". Otherwise, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Trials was perfect since the new rules applied and a week after to attune for the flawless players. For now I feel it's unplayable by us noobs, try-hards, and all in between alike.
