1 RespuestaEditado por TheArtist: 8/28/2021 1:15:36 PMThree rings for the Elven-kings under the Sky. Seven rings for the Dwarf-lords in their Halls of Stone. Nine rings for Mortal Men. Doomed to die. One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne. In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie. One ring to rule them all. One ring to find them. One ring to bring them all And in the Darkness bind them. In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie. Sauron was a fallen angel (Ainur....Maiar) from the group who served the Valar (arch angel) Aule. Aule was the Valar who ruled over mining, crafting and smithing. He actually was responsible for creating the Dwarves. The God of Middle-earth (Eru/Iluvatar) had orginally only intended to create Elves and Men (The Children of Iluvatar). But Aule was so excited about being able to teach the Children that he could not wait for their arrival. Eru however forgave Aule's impatience and breathed life into the Dwarves (The Flame Eternal/The Secret Fire). But the price would be that there would be strife between the Children of His Creation (Elves) and the Children of his Choice (Adoption....the Dwarves). As the Elven love of Nature and growing things would come into conflict with the Dwarven love of wealth and things manufactured by their own hand. Anyway after Sauron had engineered the corruption and fall of Westernesse (Original home of the Men of the West)...he returned to the mainland of Middle-earth and set in motion his plan to conquer Middle-earth. As a Maiar and his First Lieutenant, Sauron knew that he was not as powerful as Morgoth...the First Dark Lord. So he realized that he could not conquer Middle-earth through sheer force. So he contrived a plan to conquer it by stealth and deciet. Preying upon the Eleven love of growing things. He taught the Eleven-smiths how to create rings to amplify their power, telling them that they could use that power to repair the damage done to the world in the subduing of Morgoth. Celebrimbor fashioned the 16 rings that were eventually gifted to kings of Men and Dwarves that are spoken of in the poem. Sauron The Deceiver participated in the fashioning of those rings, and embued them with bits of his own power, unbeknowst to Celebrimbor. Then in secret Sauron fashioned the One Ring which he embued with a large amount of his own essence, which would then allow him to corrupt and dominate those who bore the other rings. With the goal of ruling all of Middle-earth through these powerful puppets. But Celebrimbor...unbeknowst to Sauron....fashioned the three Elven rings. Since they were not fashioned by Sauron's hand....he could not dominate the wearer. But because they were created with his knowledge these rings were still connected. So when Celebrimbor put on one his rings, the Mind of Sauron was revealed to him....and so was the Deceit. His plan foiled, Sauron went to war. This set of the wars between Sauron...the Elves and the Free Peoples that defined the Second Age (of The Sun)...and culminated in the War of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men....the Battle of Dagorlad (depicted in the opening of the film version of The Fellowship of the Ring). Which resulted in the defeat of Sauron, and Isildur---Prince of Gondor---cutting the One Ring from Sauron's hand. But not before Gil-Galad the last King of the HIgh (Noldorin) Elves was killed, as was Elendil. The last King of (Western) Men (Gondor and Arnor).....before Aragorn took the throne as King Elessar at the end of the War of the Ring. (When Sauron saw Aragorn through Sauruman's Palantir, that Pippin couldn't resist looking into....Sauron called him by what would be his royal name: Elessar.) The irony being that Pippin may have helped save Frodo and all of Middle-earth in that moment. Sauron likely mistook Pippin for Frodo. Focusing all his attention upon Gondor and Minas Tirith. Thinking Aragon planned to use the Ring against him. Thus distracting him with the battles of Pelennor Fields, and then at The Black Gate. Allowing Frodo and Sam to make it to Mt. Doom essentially undetected. [b] Edit: For casual Tolkien fans, this is relevant because the Nazgul were created from the Nine Rings of Power gifted to men. Like Gollum, the Rings gave their wearers a kind of immortality....but at the price of becoming corrupted by Sauron and thralls to his will. The Witch-king of Angmar== The Lord of the Nazgul.
