People really do be out here like "Bungie I spent $10 on this season I expect 4 months of non-stop continuous entertainment and god tier movie cutscenes".
Then again its trendy to be a negative nancy and focus solely on negatives nowadays because "hurrrr I just love the game and want it to get better" even though an unending stream of negativity will dissuade potential new players from picking it up.

Compare it to forsaken - same cost to us yet we get significantly less quality and quantity wise yearly. That's a valid critique that's 100% on bungie
-
Compare a $10 season to Forsaken. Brother. What you say is valid, but also a different kettle of fish.
Compare a $10 season to Forsaken. Brother. What you say is valid, but also a different kettle of fish.
No I'm comparing the $10 forsaken seasons to the $10 shadowkeep or beyond light seasons.

Expectations should be set here, Forsakens seasons never really had cutscenes. They were content made with high moon and vicarious, along with blur studios, of course they were going to be able to put out more. The annual pass seasons were criticized HEAVILY at launch, with the only one that got praise at launch being Opulence

Because that's not a trade I'd make ever And it doesn't matter who was helping bungie, if they can't put out the same content don't charge the same price.
The annual pass seasons were criticized HEAVILY at launch, with the only one that got praise at launch being Opulence
Black armory was praised as well

Editado por RingersCheckmate: 8/13/2021 4:56:54 AMBlack armory was not praised at all, it was hated pretty much until opulence. These forums said it was as bad as CoO.
Black armory was not praised at all, it was hated pretty much until opulence. These forums said it was as bad as CoO.
No they didn't, people loved the forge weapons and scourge, the only complaints I ever saw were week 1 of the season where the first forge was too high for average players to reasonably complete

Then you realize you pay over 80 bucks a year for this game.
-
-
I'm sorry, is that supposed to be a large annual expense?
-
Its more expensive than a "AAA" title, so while not a high annual expense, its not on par to "AAA" entertainment.
-
Last time I played CoD I spent more than $80 a year on it. 🤔
-
Editado por A R G O: 8/12/2021 6:16:48 PMLast time I played CoD I spent 60 bucks on it. I'm not taking variables such as microtransactions cus that's anyone's guess and present in destiny as well.
-
On the base game right? How about the map packs?
-
Editado por A R G O: 8/12/2021 6:20:54 PMWhat map packs lol?, when was the last time you played CoD geez. Bear in mind you're comparing bungie to the creme of la creme of greedy corporations.
-
So you're comparing a game on its own to a game + add ons? And you're surprised one costs more? Just making sure I'm understanding you.
-
Editado por A R G O: 8/12/2021 6:25:40 PMOh you're understanding me alright, seasons are not true addons, that's the whole point, its barely any content. Had they not added staggered progression such as weekly limits and drip fed content, you'd breeze right through it. The whole point is that a base game is cheaper and more content than a year of destiny, the least they could do is have decent cinematics.
-
"Its barely any content" Its $10, its not going to be substantial. But as its content that is added in, then yes they are add-ons. And that does mean that, drum roll please, it will be more expensive to buy that than just a base game. And real talk? At this point of the year we've had more content than CoDs 4 hour campaign and PvP.
-
Plenty of games have free seasons
-
Definitely not, not even close lol. But if we're gonna talk about addons then might aswell count from vanilla then.

Editado por Veldrin: 8/12/2021 4:18:08 PMI'd rather have no cutscene but instead just voice comm or post battle report that makes sense instead of a cringe cutscene that costs way too much money and is still badly directed and on top of it a lore entry that reputedly "justifies" some parts of the actions in the cutscene. Even if the vex aiming system is manipulated, why isn't there any exposition outside of the lore entry and especially why is there no reaction by the Eliksni and humans in the cutscene? Even when the Vex aiming systems are manipulated the Eliksni are without any cover and standing still, even SOME shots should have meet a target by a random chance at least. And this is actually also true because outside of the cutscene we know that many Eliksni and humans were killed by Vex. The lore entry is no good justification for the bad directing and writing of the cutscene. Outside of the cutscene the Vex had no problem killing humans and Eliksni despite their aiming system being manipulated according to that lore entry.
-
Manipulated by nearby splicers. Are you suggesting splicers were everywhere in the last city?
-
Editado por Veldrin: 8/12/2021 11:52:48 PMEven then it's implausible they miss every shot. And just assume it is plausible, why is there no narrative exposition inside the cutscene or afterwards. Why only hidden in a lore entry? Very convenient.
