What is the point? Why does like every quest track progress across all characters except the story? It serves no purpose except unnecessarily annoying players. It does not make me play the game more, less actually. I would be way more active across all my characters if this wasnt a thing.
-
I would have 3 of the same character if bungie didnt take the ability to get rewards on all of them from raids and stuff. I have 3 different characters but i never use them. I hate doing the story over and over again personally. It makes sense why they have it this way but its not for me. Maybe if we had a chance at specific loot from the story but then they would have to make the stories grindable and by then whats the point in 3 different characters anyway
-
I wish we had the choice to toggle all activity on all three characters. I know a few casual players who never got hooked on the game because they tried all three classes before choosing a main and content was blocked unless they started over. If you have to start the game from scratch every time you have the time to play, it won't hold your interest. ...I'm an addicted Destiny player and it doesn't hold my interest.

This game is the definition of repeating the same thing over and over again. Why would this be any different?
-
2 RespuestasBecause it's different characters....that's how every game works.....
-
10 RespuestasCampaign takes 3-4 hours to beat. Faster with better gear. Faster still with a fire team. Two extra completions should take 6/8 hours more/less. The OP has 1579h 19m in the game. This thread is stupid.

4 RespuestasNobody is making you do the story on multiple characters, because nobody is making you use multiple characters. You don't HAVE to play 2, or all 3. You don't HAVE to play story on any character at all, you can just play crucible 24/7. Or you can just play gambit 24/7. Or strikes. You don't have to play campaigns at all. Heck, you don't have to play this game at all. Nobody is making you play Destiny 2. Stop with this "THEY'RE MAKING ME DO THIS!" crap. You choose to play the game. You choose to play it with more than one character. You choose the activities you do in it. You choose whether to care about earning things, and what those things are. Don't blame Bungie for your decision to care.

This . I don’t give a shit about the story. I always skip all the talking. I know some people love it and that’s great but I just quit doing the story on my alts because it is the most miserable thing I’ve ever had to do in destiny and that’s saying something
-
7 RespuestasIn D1, it was actually welcomed. In D2, the narrative is so cringe. If we could just turn it off that would be fine.
-
at one point I had all three characters but after Beyond Light I made the decision to delete two characters and play on one. It’s freed up a lot of time that would otherwise be spent on leveling, campaign, etc. it’s also nice to be able to play other games.

2 RespuestasEditado por UncleObscene: 7/21/2021 1:01:59 PM...and to think I leveled all 9 classes on horde and alliance in World or Warcraft years ago. Maybe it was easier to swallow due to world size, how different each class was and races had their own starting areas. in Destiny all classes pretty much are the same, world is small and instanced, only 3 races that roll out the same way, you play the same areas over and over and..... Bungie calls this an MMORPG ? Thats laughable as there is no RPG either. Heck....i even leveled 20 of the classes to 99 in Final Fantasy XI.
-
Artificially extending the play time. It’s their choice of either making 3 pieces of content like other game companies or forcing players to play the same 1 piece of content 3 times.
-
8 RespuestasIt’s only to extend time played. If you had to run it only once then it would only prove how little campaign there is for $50. I mean beyond light is 2h long, including 40min of loading, and 1h of running jumping sliding. The price tag was essentially for a subclass. Can’t wait for the same cycle to repeat for witch queen.
-
1 RespuestaIs this your first video game?
-
This post is perfect, personally I agree with this one. I still haven't run beyond light with my 2 other characters. I try to do a little there and there it's gut wrenching. BUT, their is another post on these very forums where someone wants running story missions at all times available. Why doesn't bungie listen, because if they did this game would be 100 TIMES WORSE.
-
29 RespuestasThe story quests take a few hours at most, lol, acting like it takes days to complete , you sound like the people who say destiny is a "grind" when its not lol....
-
I hope they make a 4th class which is just a reskinned, recycle of an existing one just so you have to do it 4 times now

But before it was even more ridiculous so thanks for that much but should think about unlocking a simplified subclass mission and once you've unlocked everything in first character then all the is is that if you choose, but there are good drops that have impact like risk runner with catalyst, that was even stronger by the 3rd time, but this is my 9th time actually, now i have 2 accounts because bridie i grind like hell for 5/7 power I'll just make 3 more 1330s easier
-
Yea this is more annoying particularly when they gate things like patrol, subclasses, or other things from being usable due to story. Like beyond lights story imo sucked and the story from exo stranger felt like the main story. The main story felt like a side attraction we were forced to go through to get to the real story.
-
I only play one character now because of this
-
It's a gripe of mine too having to repeat quests from the start if I switch characters,
-
The main story missions can stay I guess but that absolute leg of a journey to unlock all your stasis aspects bull crap should be completed on all three
-
2 RespuestasI can’t bear to unlock the stasis aspects on my hunter. Done it twice, can’t do it again.
-
I've been saying it for 7 years. Hate it.
-
I think you should be allowed the option to skip once you finish it one on character. The stasis quest as well...so can't be bothered doing that a 3rd time 🤦♂️
-
3 RespuestasHow would you implement a differing storyline while still keeping the core "3 player fireteam" element? Not trying to be an ass, I'm genuinely interested.

3 RespuestasEditado por waterpolo1: 7/21/2021 7:18:16 AMBatman Arkham. Assassin's creed. Borderlands. Minecraft. Legend of Zelda. Grand Theft Auto. Mass Effect. Last of Us. Spiderman. Lego _____. Final Fantasy. Pokemon. BioShock. Need for Speed. Megaman. Uncharted. Deadspace. God of War. Elder Scrolls. Diablo. Persona. Metal Gear. Far Cry. Metroid. Guitar Hero. Monster Hunter. Starcraft. Psychonauts. Devil May Cry. You pick a new save file therefore you have to play the story from start to finish. This is nothing new. Every video game works this way. Why are people so shocked about this? If playing through the story one more or two more times is too much work, don't make new save files. I understand that Beyond Light is boring (for you) to run it 3 times. This is not bad game design, you're making a new safe file.
