The light grind is no longer fun. It hasn't been since D1.
It's only used to lock players out of content forcing them to play more.
Why not get rid of it and just make different activities harder or easier based on the difficulty rating.
What if light levels were instead made into a paragon system which would give you added benefits like glimmer drop rates, ammo drops, ability charge (not in PvP), RNG % increases, ect...
Just a random idea I had while being annoyed that GM is locked to I think like season rank 108 or something. But just wait, once the 1325 cap is gone all of the people who aren't uber no life playing, won't be allowed to join anyone.
I can see it now... GM Nightfall: must have 30+ clears and be light 1340+

I mean, it's an rpg. You level up. I'm not saying the grind shouldn't be changed up and the leveling become more productive, but trying to remove leveling from an rpg is like trying to remove guns from an fps.

1 RespuestaI swear no one reads the damn TWABs

Part of the game's experience is getting more powerful. While at the endgame stages this is pretty boring for early game it does give some sense of progression. I do agree it has gotten somewhat ridiculous considering the original cap was 400.
-
3 Respuestaswhat? they already said they're going to start only raising the light by a maximum of ten per season. what move could you possibly want?
-
I don't understand what's the point of grinding the power level to get 25+ or more when they cap the highest level playlist grandmaster at 1325 that's 15 power level on top then the rest is useless apparently
-
Because they keep trying to re invent the wheel.
-
This might actually be a good idea and worth entertaining. With no organization, proper voting or moderator management we will never know the details regarding the implementation of Power Level Removal or if the majority of the community supports it. We humbly continue to waste our time, complaining on here, hoping for a better outlet and opportunity to bring the players and developers together, to improve the game for the good of all.

5 RespuestasIt is annoying but honestly most solutions simply would not implement very well, imo.

9 RespuestasEditado por Ferus Lux: 3/21/2021 2:07:58 AMSounds like you're just salty about not being able to play GM's. Your problem isnt the light level system its that the requirement is just too high. Light Leveling is fine. It works. It's not that serious.

3 RespuestasBack in destiny one i think the raids dropped max pinnacle gear that was on hard mode i believe we need that system back.
-
I think it needs to be tweaked. Slot leveling would be a nice quality of life change over the current infusion system. Weapons would need to be account wide and armor would be character based. Rather than infusing each piece of gear you would instead infuse your highest piece of gear into the a slot(head, arms, chest, legs, class item).
-
Light levels on weapons need to go, whenever a season passes and i want to sit back and do some fun pve stuff, i end up having to infuse my weapons everytime :/
-
Replace light level with EXP level. It's already in the game, it just hasn't been used since year 2 or exp level 50. I believe this is why enemies in the presage mission are so strong despite only be a 1230 mission. Exp level would let people level up by playing what they want to play instead of grinding activities for powerful drops. Additionally this would mean that powerful rewards can be replaced by actually good rewards. I mean if your max power, 90% of the game is pointless. Imagine completing 3 strikes and being rewarded high stat armor or fully masterworked gear or a guaranteed strike specific playlist weapon.
-
no light level is a great idea. If it was still the same as year 1 d1
-
2 RespuestasXP system would work perfectly fine but for some reason everyone things that is too lame and generic.

13 RespuestasStarting next season. Light will only go up by +10 and it'll probably stay that way until Witch Queen is released. Also, you don't have to be a no life to be 1325. If you've been doing the weekly challenges, you should easily be 15+ on the artifact.
-
The point is different. Everything would be fine and all if they had come up with how we could use our best loadout at the start of the new season. Let’s face it, we just have to throw out some time for a new season away grinding, and we start playing finally only when we reach max power lvl. And it really sucks. 10 lvl only starting from new season is the ideal solution we can get from Bungie at the moment for that matter.

It's stupid, but what can anyone expect from someone that never had any experiences or has ever been in touch with the player base that he is going on his 5th year of not knowing what he is doing. So why create content that's harder when you can easily have players spend their life grinding for something that is totally pointless? it's BS but it's been working on every single one of you for years now.

16 RespuestasEditado por XCape=[God]: 3/21/2021 12:48:24 AMA better way to look at it is our guardian should be mildly over leveled if anything on par level with the most difficult activities as in D1 all heroic stuff was 400. Your guardian max power was 400 it was fine you had the challenge with the modifiers but now GM nightfalls and MLS master lost sectors are just way too OP for solo clearing . Not unless your a god and have the best rolled gear and the best mods ect and your a god at knowing how to make all your gear work for you. I’m not I point my gun and pew pew. The thing dies !!! TTLR : I Bloody hate overload champions whoever thought them up can jump in a fire and burn alive

12 RespuestasEditado por RockNotABoulder: 3/21/2021 2:39:22 AMSeems like you don't keep up with the TWABs. Light level only goes up by 10 every season now. A way more manageable number. Only big expansions like Witch Queen go up by large amounts. Which isn't even coming out till 2022.
-
4 RespuestasThey need to just copy Division 2. Max level then you can upgrade your stats with minor upgrades or something. Idfk

6 RespuestasTerrible idea. Taking out the numerical progression system in a game like this is such a bad idea. Modern gamers are lazy AF
-
3 RespuestasMy only real complaint with higher and higher LLs: We're above 1k light, which should quite literally make it impossible for npcs in the open world to kill us. Why doesn't the skull = invincible God of Death rule apply to us too?
-
7 RespuestasJust curious but why did you drop your light level down to make this post?

2 RespuestasEvery single grind of any sort in this game is completely pointless. Power level is just a time gate so we can't play the activities we want until we satisfy Bungie. All of our weapons were sunset (yes they reverted that decision) but the damage has already been done. Destiny now feels like it's not made for people to have fun and enjoy, it's like Bungie wants to micromanage every single aspect of every minute of game time. So what if the Pinnacle weapons are OP? Some people like saying through old content and feeling like Doom Guy. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to. As for PvP, separating sandboxes is SO -blam!-ING EASY but Bungie can't for some reason. Even the Warframe devs have been doing it for years and there's way more shit in that game to balance.
