If you don't need gear, is there a reason to Iron Banner?
I keep trying to like IB, but it feels like the worst version of PvP to me.
Its never felt fun, and I like PvP. Anyone else struggling to care about IB this season and beyond?

To each their own, but I love Iron Banner. It is a fast-paced match of Control with an interesting gameplay twist that rewards teams for focusing on objectives. It drops far better weapons than the world loot pool, some of which are either strong in the current meta (Steady Hand), soon to be strong in next seasons meta (Shining Sphere), or fill a unique role that no other weapon can (Forward Path). The armor drops with high stat pools and is very good looking. All in all, it is easily the best PvP activity in the game, in my opinion at least. I don't really understand why you don't like it.

Always. If you don't need gear its completely pointless, and as God awful as Gambit. I guarantee turning level advantages off alone would give a noticeable improvement, not big, but noticeable

Tried a couple of matches tonight ; Same bad connections. Same Stasis. Same bullshit. Same apathy. Same logout.

It used to be my favorite event. Now it’s pretty stale. No new gear, no reason to play it.

2 RespuestasIf you like PvP, many of the weapons are actually quite good. Forward path and the sidearm are good. The hand cannons are excellent in the current meta.

I had a 5/5 bite of the fox. Yes, had. Because they decided to sunset it and then bring it back so I'd have to farm for it again. No reason to do it if I don't even get to keep the one I farm for now after a few seasons.

Because I'm trying to get a better role bite of the fox..... Did iron banner for 10 hours and didn't get a single one even turning tokens didn't get me one 😭

Pinnacles. Gear with higher stat values. Steady Hand is the best legendary HC in the game. Orewing's is a worthy alternative to Mountaintop in PvE with something like Spike Grenades + Demolitionist + Field Prep. Guiding Sight with Rapid Hit + All For One/Vorpal/Iron Grip is pretty nasty in different applications.

It used to give me some mods, don’t know if it still does after bungie removed enhanced mods. Leveling up is worth doing iron banner if you aren’t high enough. Apart from that its honestly pointless, I don’t enjoy doing less damage to no life players.

Only if you're still pointlessly farming god rolls on the guns because you like to be on the hamster wheel of abuse.

Tokens would be the only reason I’d play it this go round. Hoard them for next seasons offerings. The armour drops this season have been weak. Hardly any high base level drops. I personally haven’t received anything higher than a 65. The freelance mode is either a mercy for your team or the opponents. Throw in the stasis spam and overall there’s other things I’d rather do. IB is not that fun at the best of times because of the shallow loot pool so not worth investing time playing it.

2 RespuestasOne of the streamers had a good idea for IB, once you have done the basic quests you get the chance to rerun them with slightly higher requirements but you get adept versions of the weapons.

I mean...I could throw myself into the Grinder to incrementally raise my light level...which only matters for high level endgame activities I already don't do...and Iron Banner...which I no longer enjoy...hmmmm...

I played a few rounds yesterday, but no where near the effort like when they had new armor and weapons to grind. I hard pass it for like a year and some change.

No. And the Bounties aren't worth it since the Power cap is probably going to be increased next week with the new Season.
