The worst thing about Sunsetting is the fact that Bungie also removed weapon archetypes with low representation in the game already
Topic explains it but holy moly, sunsetting Subtle Calamity, Arsenic Bite-4b completely left energy slot void of random rolled bows. Not to mention removal of Spiteful Fang and No Turning Back bows in the kinetic slot. Leaving us with 3 random rolled bows in the game in total, one of them a raid drop and all in the kinetic slot.
Then only 120 rpm HC in energy slot is also gone. What about rapid frame pulses? And special ammo weapons in kinetic slot?
Just what. the. hell.

I really dont see the logic especially when 2 places still award low capped weapons and we only have a hand full to replace. Imagine that moon and dreaming city awarding pointless capped weapons and nesus and edz still awarding the same year one crap. Couldn't make it up

3 RespuestasThe Rapid Fire Frame weapons are severely under represented as a whole, imo, but particularly the scout rifles. We had 1 come back and replace BlackScorpion and Randy's... and don't get me wrong, Trustee is a great weapon, but there's no non-raid equivalent for it. It's JUST Trustee and that's it.

Special ammo weapons in kinetic slot makes me wish they went back to d1 weapon system. I feel forced to use exotics for kinetic specials which means energy primaries that are exotics are unusable. Bungie doesn’t release enough guns to justify a system that functionally cuts the number of reasonable builds in half by splitting roughly equal amount of d1 loot between 2 slots. Where on d1 we might have multiple hand cannons of different speeds that went in same slot on d2 we get same, but half of them are in kinetic and half are in energy which means you can’t use certain special ammo guns with certain primary ammo guns and therefore the same amount of loot at any given point on d2 is guaranteed to feel like half as much. There’s not really a good reason I can’t just convert an energy gun into a kinetic and equip it since main thing they want to avoid is the d1 triple element weapon setup that d1y1 raids provided. We don’t even need ability to change elements, but rather make it where all kinetics and energy weapons can swap between 1 element and kinetic and therefore can change slots. Build diversity would increase and loot pool would feel like it doubled. At least for me I don’t even consider energy primaries anymore unless I want to run a exotic kinetic special due to the consistent lack of kinetic specials. They seem to have plenty of kinetic snipers, but this isn’t d1 and snipers are not worth it like they were on d1 when option of shotgun is available. Reward for accuracy was thrown out in favor of reward for risk.

And then you got issues like Felwinter's. Arguably the most dominant gun in the game is no longer available, [i]and there isn't a single energy high impact shotgun to give it competition either.[/i] And then, 120 rpm hand cannons are the meta and guess what? There isn't a single energy hand cannon of that archetype. So there's zero competition for Felwinter's on that end too. So far sunsetting has been done in such a poor fashion that the meta and diversity have both gotten incredibly limited.

No 540 Pulse Rifles, the last Aggressive Frame energy weapons (both Shotgun - Python and Sniper - Trophy Hunter) both get sunset at the end of this season, both are Void too so no other energy types exist. Diversity of weaponry is dying. I have often enjoyed playing off Meta but now I am left with limited options.

Well duh. Sunsetting is Bungie's excuse to get rid of archetypes and guns they don't want us to use. It's how they remove fun. Called this out back when it was announced and was told to shut up and that I am wrong. Still waiting for these so called "powerful" guns that will be "crazy" to use to appear. Everything feels weaker. All guns are pea shooters now. I repeat all my guns now fire marshmallows.

Also there’s 2 raid bows you can get one in the kinetic slot and one in energy slot. So at the moment there are 6 bows one of them being Point of the Stag which you can get from the kiosk. There’s 3 kinetic bows and 3 energy bows if you count Point of the Stag. This is also only counting legendary bows but there’s the Wish-Ender, Le Monarque, Trinity Ghoul, and Leviathan’s Breath. If you count the exotics as well there are 10 bows you can still get in the game.

So I agree with the point, but we actually have 4 bows, two of them raid drops and one in the energy slot. Most people forget about the last wish bow though so I wouldn't blame anyone for not remembering it. And I think this is one of the main things that almost everyone has an issue with about sunsetting. I personally think that they had a reason to do it, we've seen powercreep take over, and it was a serious issue that I don't want to have to deal with again, but they definitely went too far. It doesn't help that a lot of the weapons we currently have are old ones. If they're going to leave those weapons in the game, they shouldn't make us have to regrind it. But really, they should have just worried about retiring the guns that are actual issues. There was no reason to get rid of a huge amount of the guns that are gone.

The [b][i]worst[/i][/b] thing about mars is that The Dust Palace is lost to us again. Back in Cabal hands. Word is they've let Psion Flayers out of their cages, to dig around in the Central AI's Cortex. Which means they really want what's buried in there. If Rasputin was protecting it, it's valuable. We've got to flush those Flayers out.

5 RespuestasBows are in such a sorry state right now. Lightweight Frame Bows are just horrendous, they feel so weak and inaccurate. With Subtle Calamity and Hush gone, only Point of the Stag remains as having the frame and model that feels best to use, and it's on a timer. Arsenic Bite and Tyranny of Heaven can be discounted almost invariably, while neither Accrued Redemption nor Biting Winds recapture the feel that the Energy Precision Bows have. Accrued Redemption in particular feels like it shoots wet noodles instead of arrows.

While this defiantly sucks - I don’t think it’s the worst part. It’s not caring about any gear in the game anymore. The core gameplay loop of grinding new god rolls is gone. I can’t but help and feel like they’re trying to get players to stop playing.

You can still get arsenic bite and tyranny of heaven, there’s also accrued redemption, biting winds and whispering slab. No turning back was a static roll so good riddance to that.
