I just got round to finishing my Hunters Stasis stuff tonight. Holy hell is Revenant good, I cant believe anyone ever had a bad word to say about it. Practically on-tap AoE nuke, double ranged melee and a very strong super to boot.
Put the Shadebinder super back to how it was, its toothless next to Silence and Squall. 💀

I can see most of what you're saying, but my god is that thing about the super a bad take. In PVE, maybe there's an argument that silence and squall is better, maybe, but pvp, the main place where people were complaining about it, shadebinder is still way better. Silence and squall has an incredibly long startup for a shutdown super, leaving you open to get hit by other faster supers, such as shadebinder, or get sniped. It also takes both scythes to actually kill another super, which is not easy considering how quickly most supers can break out. Meanwhile, shadebinder is so effective that it can even shut down most shutdown supers. It has fast moving freeze projectiles that can instantly freeze multiple targets at once, multiple times per super, and an attack that can shatter anything in a massive radius, through walls, at nearly no super energy cost. I've died to shadebinders while I was in my silence and squall animation more times than I can count.

Fast moving? Before the nerf yes, not so much any more. Its noticeably less effective than before. Yes Shadebinder was horrifying before, no it didnt get Nova Warped... but I still contest that Bungie went in on it a little too hard. Its... ok now. Meanwhile Hunters and Titans retain a fantastic neutral game and strong supers.

Bro this, I was playing hunter yesterday and it’s SO GOOD, easily the best PvP super next to top tree dawn

Makes me wish the other classes had similar supers given how effective it currently is.

Toothless? You should do more playing with revenant and actually see that it isn't as good as you think.
-
Revenant is the best subclass in the game. And it’s not even close.
-
Ehh shadebinder says otherwise.
-
This explains why 70 to 80% of the players in Trials run Revenant now, because its bad.

Editado por Guardian8793: 12/29/2020 6:04:48 PMShadebinder isn’t even the best subclass on warlock. Shadebinder has 1 thing. And it’s the melee. (Rift freezing barely happens so it’s really just nothing) That’s literally it that freezes for 1.35 seconds. And a fairly decent super. Revenant has: - a slowing melee (sorry it has 2 of those) - a slowing ability (of which it can have 2 and they recharge the slowing melee instantly) - a slam that does damage without targets being frozen, that can be used to evade in the air, and has 0 cooldown - an absolute top teir super for trials etc - wall slam combo that can insta kill all supers other than the Titan one -a shadestep on top of this that can be used to evade -the ability to freeze with a shadestep to regain your melee then hit them to Freeze - oh and all freeze abilities last 5 seconds on hunter too But yeh, hunters is terrible isn’t it...... I really do hope you try form an argument against this because there really isn’t any. I like things being strong, but revenant is literally busted and anyone with a couple functioning brain cells knows that

Editado por Dredgen Truth: 12/30/2020 1:39:40 AM
- a slowing melee (sorry it has 2 of those)
Probably the best thing about the subclass, no real defense against that, though I will say that shadebinder melee freezes instantly without having to waste two charges, which is gonna be more effective than a slow 100% of the time, even with the 1.5 second freeze. Most things kill faster than that.
- a slowing ability (of which it can have 2 and they recharge the slowing melee instantly)
Still requires you to be within shotgun range of a person to use it, and most people with a shoulder charge, a shotgun, or the last word, any effective close range weapon really.
- a slam that does damage without targets being frozen, that can be used to evade in the air, and has 0 cooldown
It deals significantly less than a single hand cannon bullet of damage, and requires far more time and setup to do it. If it kills you, you were dead anyways. I don't see the air evasion as a problem, considering it still pales in comparison to top tree dawnblade, and hunters are supposed to be the mobile class, and it does have a cooldown. You have to get back in the air, and even if you're just jump slam spamming it's still on a short cooldown.
- an absolute top teir super for trials etc
It's one of the worst supers in the game for it's job. It's a quick one and done shutdown super, and in the same role, on the same subclass, you've got tether, and blade barrage. Even after nerf, blade barrage is STILL a better shutdown super than silence and squall. Silence and squall takes over a full second after using it to actually come out, and most of it's actual effects take nearly another second to actually activate. More than enough time to get your ass killed for using it.
- wall slam combo that can insta kill all supers other than the Titan one
The amount of damage those shattered glacier nades do and the range they can do it from are an issue. If it worked from less range, and was only capable of insta killing lower resilience supers, I think it would be fine, but as it is now, I agree. Kinda busted.
-a shadestep on top of this that can be used to evade
Same argument here as with the evasion on shatterdive. Mobile class. Still outdone by warlocks.
-the ability to freeze with a shadestep to regain your melee then hit them to Freeze
You can slow with a dodge, not freeze. Huge difference. To get a freeze, you have to waste a second ability charge. Either a second dodge with sixth coyote, or one of your melee charges. Either way, big resource usage for a single kill that most people could've just gotten with a shotgun.
- oh and all freeze abilities last 5 seconds on hunter too
Which freeze abilities again? No one ability can freeze except for the super, and warlock super freezes for 5 seconds too, as does titans super. In order to get a freeze other than that, we either have to use coldsnap, which only lasts for 1.3 seconds, same as with every other class, be very accurate with a glacier nade, which most people aren't, get someone stuck in a duskfield for a long ass time, which anyone else can do, and is usually a positioning or movement error on the targets part, or, again, using two ability slots. More resource usage, can often be a waste, could get the same kill potential without spending that much.

-
- shurikens have aim assist don’t lie - they also bounce off walls and go very fast - combo that is superior to titans as it uses verticality which in crucible is much more key - warlock melee goes slow and can be avoided - again, literally the only thing they have You’re very clearly a low teir crucible player if you cannot use the revenant effectively and know for a fact it’s broken.

I'm willing to bet money my mind wont be changed. Especially as a few players better than I have been waiting for me to have this revelation. 😂

Honestly the super isn't great it's the neutral game that makes it absurd
