All the "750 recommended" activities are switching to 1050. This means that a 1060 max weapon will be only 10 levels above, so the loss in damage (because both your overall light level and the weapon you are using are part of the calculation) will likely be very obvious even this season.
Next season, anything with a cap of 1060 will be truly useless.

You are aware of how the light system works right? The recommended light can be seen as zero. Get below that point then you take more damage and enemies take less. But once your at zero, no matter how higher you get light applies no modifiers. Difficult activities apply different modifiers to damage in addition. Basically lower =nerfed, higher =no modifiers.

1 RespuestaCan confirm individual gear power is factored. Tried prestige spire last week with a damaged travelers chosen at 0 power, bringing my overall down to ~980. Being 980 allowed my 0 power travelers chosen to still do damage in a 750 activity, but it took 6 clips to kill 1 redbar dog. Because of the damage deltas (under 100 to above 30), a 1075 blue hand cannon will hit harder than your masterworked 1060 in any standard 1050 activity. Sunset? More like buried and that you can visit the tombstone every once in a while you feel like putting yourself at a disadvantage reminiscing with your favorite weapons.

Here's the part that has gone over everyone's head: Once the dlc cap has gone up in the next dlc the recommended light level will also go up in the 1060 cap areas again and the dlc after that will repeat the raise once again.

So we can't use 1050 weapons in 1050 activities?

if legacy content is1050 our weapons go up to 1060 everything under 1050 will be brought to 1050 How does this change anything?

You have massively overlooked something. Take your time and let us know when the penny drops 👍

4 Respuestas
When you first log in next Season, all of your weapons and armor will be at 1050 Power or higher. If you have anything already over 1050 it will be unchanged, and anything under will be brought up to 1050.
You missed a key detail sunshine, “all weapons and armor are being brought up to 1050” 🤪

2 RespuestasIF I'm right (big if here), only 50 level over a "recommendation" matter (or maybe 30, but let's say 50). So, the objective "should* be te be at at least (?) 1'110 (1'060 + 50) We lose 1 light level every 8 step down with one item. With the next season max - 1260 - it mean we have 150 LL to spare (1'260-1'100) 150 x 8 = 1200. With a difference per obsolete weapons of 200 (1'260-1060), that's mean that we can have.... 6 weapons/armor items at 1'060, and still be in general at 1'110... Control : (6 x 1'060 + 2 x 1'260)/8 = (6'360 + 2'520)/8 = 8'880/8 = 1'110. -> OK Pfiou' (I'm still 100% opposed to sunsetting, it's a bad solution poorly executed for a true question, but still....)

They better update the rewards for legacy activities to current light caps, then. The sad thing is that I wouldn't put it past Bungie to make it so you can barely use retired guns to earn gear that's already retired. @ _ @

But you can still use them in patrol. 😏
