since it is a restriction, is there any way to appeal it?
-
Is this your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (or more) time getting restricted?
-
First time. What's worse is I don't even know what I did to get restricted.
-
First time is generally only 2 weeks (unless your connection was absurdly bad or you did something egregious to warrant a longer 1st punishment). You can try to appeal, but odds are that it won’t get overturned & you’ll just have to wait it out. During which time you’ll want to make 1000% sure you fix anything wrong that caused your restriction to begin with.

Funny....they gave me a ban of 500 years. It's really outrageous actually. Believe me if you want but I've been with destiny since the release of their first game way back in 2014. I have always played fair, earned my stuff rightfully and also never received any warning from bungie concerning my internet issues. I honestly truth to God don't know why I would have been restricted let alone restricted for 500 years. This was waaaayyy back in Feb and I am still puzzled. I figured that I'd just give up but with New light coming up it brings back Taken King memories and know I'm kinda forcing myself to try again. I know you might not be able to help but thank you for at least hearing me out.
-
What exactly does the screen/message say when you try to play? Could you post a pic of it?
-
Sure one sec.
-
-
might take some time. Haven't played it since feb so its gonna have to update
-
No worries. Take your time
-
wait how would i post an image here?
-
1st upload to a host site (Imgur or twitter are generally easier/best). Next, share a url to host page on here.
-
okay lemme show you this. i found this under the cross play for destiny when I went to study deeper into this.
-
That is the message for either a permanent restriction or a ban.
-
That's what I thought but then why not just ban me? That the first time I am ever seeing this. and it's a restriction so by the logic you gave me before, it should be only 2-3 weeks. But 500 years for the first time? Especially when I don't even know what I did? Could you give me some examples of what a person would have to do to even get hit with a 500 year restriction for the first time?
-
I would like to see the actual in-game message first please. Some things that could cause a 500 year punishment include (but not limited to): Ddosing Playing multiple games with ddosers Network manipulation Habitually bad/unstable internet connection Playing with hackers/cheaters for an extended period
-
I've never done any of those things at all. Especially since I play on PS4. I heard DDosing is really big in Trials and I've been a victim to it. But I even barley play trials. As soon as the game finishes updating I'll upload the image.
-
Sorry to keep you waiting. Here is the image.
-
Yup. That’s a ban message. Not a restriction. Bans are placed for serious offenses: Running cheat/hack/mod/trainer programs Having illicit software open (debuggers/code injectors/etc)
-
but on play-station?? what softwhere on play-station would be read as a cheat??
-
You have a pc account also. So if you were running something on pc that flagged you, then it also carries over to all linked accounts.
-
The PC account is only there because at one point Destiny was free so I thought why not get it. And that was THE ONLY time I touched it. There is only one character on there and I barley even touch that account because I just wanted to know what 120fps feels like. There is no software on my pc that would remotely come close to being flagged as a cheat. The last time I touched that account was way past last year. I have even seen Bungie in the forums tell people that they found programs in their pc but they have yet to tell me anything in months. If I did cheat then tell me what I did otherwise it just doesn\t make any sense to me.
-
You can submit the appeal form, but don’t get your hopes up. Very few appeals have actually been overturned due to being erroneously given. Bungie found something you had running or were doing in-game that flagged them, they reviewed, and determined a ban was needed.
-
Well that's depressing. I guess I can try that out. Thank you for your help.
