1. You can keep using the stuff you earned
2. Noone is taking away your god rolls... you can still use them.
3. So instead of sunsetting... you'd rather start completely over in D3? This makes no sense at all. At this point everyone here knows that D3 would be a garbage heap, we'd be essentially starting Destiny 2.1 and almost noone wants this.
I'll agree that armor sunsetting is fracking dumb but I would definetly prefer sunsetting some of my weapons over starting completely from scratch in a new (half-baked) game.
1. You can keep using the stuff you earned 2. Noone is taking away your god rolls... you can still use them.
Do you mean no one? I find replies like this actually ridiculous. Seriously, have you and the ones that think like you even bothered to actually look at how much content is being removed from this game? 4 if not 5 destinations that leaves really nothing but patrol to "use them in". Tell me how PvP players spent all that time creating builds so they can run patrol in older content to use the older weapons? and how "important" it is was for you to let them know their weapons are going to be useless knowing most likely even the older content will get a damage buff?

Wow, here is a list of things we are losing along with Sunsetting Mercury and strikes Mars and strikes, EP Titan and strike IO and strikes Leviathan(4 raids) Also speculation to be vaulted Black Armory/Forges Menagerie Scourge, Last Wish Raids So look at the directory and imagine that is gone, only Nessus, The Moon, Tangled Shore, The Dreaming City and EDZ are left. This is the only content left where our gear would be useable. But I am sure the strikes on these locations will get a bump, eliminating these. It's not just the armor and weapons, it's also the experiences and locations. The whole concept just seems cheep.

No one wants to use old stuff that makes their number go down. Plus it's useless in end game. No one is going run around managing non endgame and endgame gear. Sunset weapons reintroduced with same perk pool is just a big slap in the face and is feels disrespectful to the player. I get it there are some weapons that should be sunset. So ok, sunset those or even just their perks. They could disable perks and re-enable them periodically to change things up. We power climb every season. Our gear becomes mostly useless. What the difference on a new game or an expansion, we still grind...
-
I'd much rather start over completely than half ass start over which is what this is.
-
1. Not in endgame content making it pointless to lug around taking up inventory space. 2. See number 1. 3. D3 would allow for drastic systematic changes giving the game a lot better systems that drive up player enjoyment and would allow Bungie to implement systems that could allow for more replayability and also to update their currently crappy engine to actually support all the content in a singular game without having to remove content. If they only sunsetted a few weapons like Recluse, MT.etc. I would be fine but this applies to all weapons now and in the future.
-
Remember when everyone thought there was going to be vast improvements from D1 to D2 at launch? How’d that work out. Lol. Everyone is up in arms about sun setting. Honestly I’d rather not see Moutain Top, Recluse and the half a dozen or so weapons everyone only uses for the next three years.
-
1. Endgame content is not even close to what the player base plays the most. The app let's you move these items in seconds... Poor excuse 2. See number 1 3. You're under the assumption that Bungie would actually improve with D3. There's nothing to suggest that would be the case. Historically the Destiny launches were terrible so there's not really any reason to think the launch of D3 would actually be better than the state of D2 now or after Beyond Light. NEXT

1. Have to use 3rd party software on another device to move around loot which should just be something in the game available from orbit. Still wasting time having to use an application just to reorganise gear that is only useful in old content with old loot that is capped. 2. See 1. 3. They were only terrible releases because of mismanagement and restarting the game mid development. If they went with Statens cut then we would've probably seen a much better D1 at release with a better story and amount of content. Destiny 2 had a similar problem where they restarted the game mid development and had Luke Smith lead the game. Luke Smith is a terrible game director, I dunno how a blog writer gets to game director but there you go. A good example of why Luke Smith is a bad game director is that amount of times he uses other games and other forms of entertainment when explaining something that not everyone can relate to. This shows that his decisions and actions for Destiny are based more on what other games and forms of media do rather than a creative unique vision for the game.
-
It literally takes less time to move items using an app or DIM than it does to send a moderately sized text.
-
Still having to use a third party app that still takes time just to use old loot that can't be used in newer content. You would then have to use it again to free up inventory space so who would bother? No one is gonna constantly move around old loot just to use that old loot in old activities that reward old loot. There will probably be select weapons that would be still used in PvP and thats it, for PvE it would be a waste of time.
-
That's your opinion but that's not necessarily true for the ENTIRE playerbase.
-
So your opinion is that you like more annoying systems that make you have to go outside of the game to accomplish a simple task?
-
That's what makes destiny Unique.
-
My opinion is that I'm ok with what we have. Would in game vault access be better It's a 3rd party app... not great i'll admit but it's usable and it's not all that inconvenient for most people in my experience. If the app is your reason for not liking sunsetting there's a larger issue here...
-
I think we somehow moved off the main topic, even if there is a third party piece of software or ingame method of moving loot around players are still not going to waste time moving old loot around just to use old loot in old activities that reward old loot. Why would I waste time throwing on Midnight Coup when I can just keep using this other gun? I like Midnight Coup but I ain't going to waste time throwing it on just for old content that Bungie is too lazy to update to keep relevant.
-
My point I guess is what's the difference between the app and in game? Destiny 2 load times are TERRIBLE. Even with an in game vault system it would probably be faster to move the gear with the app lol. You have great points i just don't think they are even remotely likely to happen with the team running D2 right now. Personally I think the larger issue here is that we don't know what's coming with Beyond Light. The Taken King expansion sunset a TON of gear and noone batted an eye because we knew there was some really cool loot coming. The problem here is that Bungie dropped the ball on this one and announced sunsetting without giving us any hint as to what's in the pipeline for loot in the new expansion. If we KNEW without a doubt that some straight up epic loot was coming with Beyond Light I don't think there'd be as much pushback. Would losing the pinnacle gear suck? Yes... but we'd have all these new toys to distract us from that.
-
1. Agreed but that's what we've got. Use it or don't... that's your choice. 2. Boohoo it's an app... just use it. If you don't want to use the tools available that's your problem. Almost everyone i know uses the app for item management. Get over it. 3. You proved my point here. With Luke at the helm you'd really prefer D3 over sunsetting in D2? They didn't go with Staten's cut and if you really think that any of this would change with D3 I don't know what to tell you. Their track record speaks for itself.
-
1. Bungie is still gonna take like a year to implement picking up bounties from orbit. 2. They added Eververse in the director before a bounty board. 3. Get rid of Luke Smith and I'd go with Chris Barrett at least he has a good track record which isn't exactly based on the work of others. TTK was pretty much done for the original Destiny 1... The dreadnaught is literally seen in E3 gameplay and the first raid was actually a mix of Crota's end and King's Fall.
-
This has no longer has anything to do with the topic at hand. GG
-
It does though? As I mentioned earlier why isn't the vault accessible from orbit? If Bungie really was player first we would see the ability to access the vault and pickup bounties from orbit not Eververse.

Editado por xbroggiex: 7/30/2020 7:45:09 PMI think I got a little confused with a different conversation but I still did elude to it with... "So your opinion is that you like more annoying systems that make you have to go outside of the game to accomplish a simple task?" Also, just because it wasn't mentioned still makes it a valid point within the context of what we are arguing about. Having to go outside of the game to complete a simple task in game in 2020 is a goddamn joke.

You can use your god rolls in... patrols. Nobody is taking away your guns, you have vault with... 500 slots for armor and weapons for 3 characters. Mister, I am sure that pound of sand is smarter than you. Never talk to anybody, it will help you a lot in your live.
-
Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - antiguos
You can use your god rolls in... patrols.
Except the power level of enemies in the patrol zones on the new locations will most likely become higher than the power cap on the sunset weapons. Making them useless on patrols. -
