Today being Bungie Day I want to hear some of your favorite stories from the past. Whether it is users, threads or other content.
Maybe some other old B.net user will regale us with stories of ancient times.
Some memories have already been touched on so I will share some of my memories. Also feel free to add my new GT if you all want to possibly play. I am not on often but I will accept it if you send one.

17 RespuestasWhile not the happiest story, I do recall a time where I requested Foman123 unban me to pay respects in a thread dedicated to DeathPimp. This had been the first time I'd known a fellow community member who had passed away, and was a moment where I came to understand how important the 7th column was. Chris was honestly one of those community members that brought people together. He inspired weekly (almost daily) game nights, pushed people to create awesome forge maps, talked a lot of smack in the heat of battle to amp us up for wins, all that kind of stuff. He was also a shoulder to cry on if I was in a sticky situation. Of any community member that I knew at the time, he was a shining star and a great role model. I miss him to this day, and hope he's proud of how far many of us have come. To that end, there are so many experiences I'd had thanks to friends made through clans on Bungie.net, or just forumgoers of the time. Hitting up the ODST Truck Tour to meet members of the clan for the first time, heading to PAX in Seattle (which inspired my future career), and so many other happenings... I wouldn't be where I am today without this community. Much love, and happy Bungie day.

I'm a bit late to the party, but Happy belated bungie day. I haven't been here as long, but this community has had a huge impact on me, especially off topic. Whether it be my trolling escapades, just trying to fit in, or reveling in the Tom foolery of others, I've had a blast here and discovered new ways to express myself. Wouldn't be the same without y'all to put up with me. Thank you from the bottom of my troll bridge heart...

1 RespuestaEditado por minifig13: 7/9/2020 7:12:25 AMI miss Bravecole. He was an awesome fan-fic writer (started the kinderguardians) and a cool guy, kinda like xombie. He went MIA during the purge. One of his buddies, Oddish (the second kinderguardians author and an awesome human) still can be spotted here. SlimSlimy was another cool dude. He never posted anything but he'd like the top posts and every comment. I did spot him a couple weeks ago. I've had a hard liking bungie after the purge.

Editado por ChorrizoTapatio: 7/7/2020 5:11:44 PMHot diggity damn it's been a minute since I logged in here, but I was summoned by a tweet ye olde Spawn posted regarding sharing good times here. Happy Bungie Day, folks. Once upon a time I was just a kid with no internet who toiled away playing hours upon hours of Halo 2 campaign by himself. Constantly trying to get the scarab gun and pushing the limits of the classic super jumps. I loved Halo 2 more than anything, and the company behind it more so. But, without internet I was alone. Then a few years later I got a job and then my very own internet. For the first time I played Halo 3 online where I was called a "f**king noob" and t-bagged endlessly. Truly joyful times! Then, I happened to find out there was a website where I could track my Halo 3 stats: Bungie.net. Then, two years later I found out there was a forum and was promptly banned for shit posting. What's funny about that is I was banned by someone whom I'd later regard as a good friend, an older brother even. I looked up to him very much and am so proud of him to this day. he worked his ass off and now works for this very company. Although we don't speak often, I still hold him in very high regard. This man wasn't the only friend I made here. There are so many wonderful people that came from this website who I love dearly, even if we've been disconnected, and if it weren't for this website I really wouldn't be doing much online. Here I was introduced to things like Reddit, Imgur, weird parts of YouTube, and so many other things that are now the staple of my everyday internet use. Here I met a community manager who, although he may not know it, built the path for my current road of career success. DeeJ is an incredible person and Bungie is very lucky to have him. I've been a Legendary Member, a Welcome Wagon, a Mentor, a Tester, and now (just as it started) another face among many who still wait to see what Bungie creates next. Admittedly, I'm not the same person I was many years ago and I have changed a lot. Mostly for the better. But even if I'm not burning as brightly as before, I'm still burning blue. And always will. This website holds a special place in my heart. If you're new here, stick around. You can make friends here that surpass the barrier of the internet to become some of the best real life friends you'll ever have. Cherish that. It's rare to share a passion with somebody. Happy Bungie Day.

3 RespuestasI have too many fond memories to share at this point. This community has provided me with life long friends, many of which I consider like family. Multiple pax parties, meeting folks from the community, old bungie day celebrations. All a blast. More than that, my time im the bungie community gave me goals, ambition, and drive to see them through. I look very fondly upon my time here on the forums talking, speculating, and imagining the future of bungie games while I was younger. Everything from private groups, to ARGs, to nearingly getting perma-banned from Achronos back in the day give me a smile. As we near PAX, I'm sad that this year won't be a time where so many folks flock to Seattle to have a good time, reminisce, and share developments in their lives. I hope y'all are safe n sound and I look forward to next year, and the years after that. A round of drinks on me. Much love. Happy Bungie Day!

6 RespuestasEditado por Spawn: 7/7/2020 4:39:52 PMThanks for posting this thread. Cool to see some old guard names still poking around. Agree with lots of posts here with the ARG's, Bungie Vs Community, Blue Flaming helmets and crazy shenanigans on the forums. Thanks Index for putting this together so many years ago. Always love to go through and reminisce about our history here. Played some BTB in Reach in Summer 2011 for a tournament (Dude Nailerz!), and good to see those folks kicking. Also, Verachi, was trying to find that "You mad bro." post and it might be on google images. Cheers to another Bungie Day, I'll continue chiming in when I can. Edit: also, this year is year 15 for me on here. cOLD.

There's a lot of things I've forgotten over the years, but I've really loved being part of the community. I remember being in so many groups I maxed it out, but I barely remember the names anymore. I would like to give some love to the group Halo Movie Clan, though. That was a very fun time on the website, and it eventually led to a creation of a site on its own. I've made a lot of friends through b.net and/or bungie games that have become friends for life, and I'll always be appreciative of that.

8 RespuestasI think I have to go with BUNGLE and the Community Carnage games. BUNGLE was a joke, but it was the most fun I ever had in Halo. Destiny doesn't really have the freedom of customization to allow that sort of thing to flourish anymore, but the days of Halo 3 BUNGLE were really something special. Bungie Day Community Carnages specifically I remember spending hours and hours getting dozens of co-op, firefight, and multiplayer lobbies together for tons of people all culminating in a bunch of private matches. It has been like 10 years, but I seem to recall there being maybe 80+ people at the last one? Hope everybody has been doing well these last few years. It is truly lovely to see so many familiar names.

Where'd they all go?

5 RespuestasMet some of my best friends, folks I would consider family, on this website and over Halo and Destiny. Killing time in IRC (#moap) and playing video games with folks from the site til the sun comes up will always be treasured memories. I'm fortunate to still have friendships with a many of those people. I'd add a few things to that list, Achilles: - Kitchen 8 - TFM - Mob of Angry Peasants - Achilles montages (?)

Editado por o_____________o: 7/8/2020 4:38:50 PMToo many memories, but I'll name whatever comes to mind: Porch day Whenever shishka humiliated somebody. The Ninja rebellion (April fools) BB passing away. Though I didn't know him, I remember being moved by the impact he had on peoples' lives. The op family. Clockman Reporting Achronos

My best story, though not specifically a forum or funny story, is the time I got invited to participate in the Halo 3 friends and family beta. My son, who I think had just turned 6, was already a huge Halo fan and, like me, was really excited for Halo 3. His first video game ever was Halo: CE and he started trying to play when he was 2 (no joke). I got the message from Disembodied Soul on bnet that I had been invited to the Friends and Family beta for Halo 3 This was pretty late at night here so I jumped on my 360 and downloaded beta. The next morning I woke my son up early like it was Christmas morning and took him into the living room without telling him what was going on, when he saw the Halo 3 main menu screen he got so happy he literally started crying, it was great and definitely one of my favorite moments in Bungie/Bnet history. I’ve been on here forever and while I do (have) frequent the forums a lot and write and comment, I’ve never really ever gotten to know any of the other regular users which is a shame, I should probably remedy that lol. Cheers.

2 RespuestasI got two funny stories one form the forums and one from PAX. The on here was definitely unexpected, the Dang Minecraft post I did. Was doing something thinking, what if we had a Minecraft server, simple poll post. Then dang Dmg04, was like
Do it You won’t
Spoiler 3 months later we have a Bedrock server. Still do to this day. Which bounds to this realm. My other story which is my favorite, is my PAX 2019 story, which is a long one. There was a blizzard in Seattle I’ve been told and a fellow member here (Lee) did a drawing of Dmg04 with a couple Pringle Cans surviving the blizzard. Fast forward to 2 days before I left for PAX. I was like, oh the Pringles drawing was a fun way for us to reach outside of the forums. So I made a post, hay reply and I’ll put your name on the can, I think I had like 70 people respond. Long bus right I’ll tell you that, cramming in all 70 names in a spread sheet. Had to get the can when I landed at the airport in Seattle, that night. Med up with my friends at got free housing right next to PAX since my friend’s dad had a place there, saved us a lot of money. Ok, we only had on day at PAX, had it make it count, we waited in line outside, while waiting I scrambled to put all of the names on to the can and holding my computer to read names. Eventually got it, right before the line opened up. Go in radda radda, security check. And darted for the PvP line. Had fun in the 6v6s got my coin, carried on. Found Dmg04, past over the offtopic can. Looking back at that, why didn’t we do Bread?! Like I remember everyone at the time was saying “let’s get this bread!” So maybe next time. But the story isn’t over. It wouldn’t be just that no no no, my journey to get that Crucible pin, and the only way to get it was winning a 3v3 armor 2.0 elimination game. I went in line solo to star, then I got approached by two guys. One with an “Exhibitor badge” and the other with a “Content Creator badge” they ask if I was a solo and wanted to sure, “sure”. They they introduce them selves. The Exhibitor was “Spug” (forgot your real name been like 10 months) he did a lot of special effects for the Reckoning. The other guy was a D1 and D2 Raid Sherpa “JZsniperton” nice guys BTW. We keep good conversation in that long ass line. Then when my brain kind of had a What!?! Moment. There was this person rocking some crazy cosplay of Moxi from Borderlands. And I was like oh wow great cosplay, then I herd some chatter. “I think that’s Datto.” Then it clicked in my head, it was Datto! Wearing fake breast!!!! Phahhh. Then it was time to play. It was a close game 4-5, wasn’t use to PC controls, used controller. And we lost, but it was still super fun playing with such amazing people. But I was still determined to earn the pin. I got in line, close to the end of the day, got pairs up with two other solos. While waiting in line, someone else warned me that the team I will face has been swearing and grinding pins to sell online for big bucks. So I was a little on edge wanting to win. I remember a little of my teammates. One had a blue Destiny shirt and Watermelon green hair. (That will be important later). We get ready to start, this time I tried with PC controls, and put on the right mods for armor 2.0. First 4 round we one, one more point to win it all. We lost one round, I was like ahhh don’t worry we got it. (Kind of weird not gonna lie). And then we get the last point 5-1 Vs people farming the pins. That felt so good that I was coming home With a awesome pin. The next day while I was getting ready to go to the airport I saw the guy in green hair heading to the cosplay meet up with bungie. I couldn’t go since I had a flight to Phoenix and then a drive to Tucson. And by Coincidence on my Twitter feed was the guy taged “The Watermelon Exo” I remember the guy from though comics. Funny that I didn’t know it was him. That closed out on my Great PAX trip. Plus: on my flight home, right before we landed in Phoenix there was like a draft, and we couldn’t land, we circled around and had to refill in Tucson. Free flight form Phoenix to Tucson. Got home early, and got Recluse in one day. Wooo It was such a great weekend, and I will always remember it till the end, happy bungie day Now back to my summer classes

Happy Bungie Day! Unfortunately I don't have any particular memories of the forums on this day because I was usually on vacation with family around this time of year. I do remember people on The Flood finding out a way to report Achronos and ended up getting one of his pinned posts have the "view at your own risk" prompt which got him to threaten to nuke the forum. That was hilarious. By the way, he hasn't been here since he left to 343 but SHISHKA IS STILL A PEGBOY

1 RespuestaOh man, so many good memories from this thread. I have yet to have the chance to attend a PAX but I would like to one day and I guarantee there will be many memories from that time when it comes. I think one of the things that sticks out to me is when the hype machine began for Halo 3: Recon (later called ODST). Seeing the Superintendent posting in places yelling at people to "KEEP IT CLEAN" and seeing everyone freak out about it was amazing. Also, all of the rumors that surrounded the Recon armor in Halo 3...oh boy. Wait...I mentioned Recon....I'm getting banned aren't I?

Halo 2 released on my birthday. So I bought a few pizzas and spent the evening in line at Game Stop having a makeshift party with the other people waiting for the midnight release. Met some really cool people and had a lot of fun. Ended up getting home so late I didn’t even have time to play any of it. Longest day of work ever as I counted down the minutes to run home and turn on the game. I regret none of it, as H2 ended up being one of my favorite games of all time.

5 RespuestasHappy bungie day everyone! Late nite flood shenanigans was always fun. Ilovebees was the greatest and last arg I ever played. Playing in groups in all bungie titles was supa! Glad to see some ancients are still around even if in the shadows

One of my favorite memories is when bacongreese1521 made a post announcing my death. Made me realize just how loved and hated that I had become.
