A (BRAVE) "EVER (R)EVOLVING WORLD"

Remember Bungie, when you talked to us about your vision of an "ever evolving world" ? I'm not natively english speaking, so maybe I should have a look at what "evolving" means : evolve - verb - to change or develop gradually: So... what means develop ? develop - verb - to (cause something to) grow or change into a more advanced, larger, or stronger form Now, back to you. In what world, does the idea of re-issuing identical weapons with only an higher level cap make sense ? I understand vaulting content. The game is growing too big (physically on our consol, and for you to work on) I understand the need to balance the game, and having to take in consideration ALL the weapons created from the beginning is a Sisyphus work. I understand that your studio has a limited capacity in new contents for each seasons. You already have in the past, shift the paradigm of the game. D1 to D2. Fixed roll to random roll. Armor 2.0. Seasonal mod. All this changes, always give something to the player. New mechanics, more flexibility, more crafting. If not, the limitation was clearly technical, and explained so. But here, now, how can you explain, that my old "last dance, farmed in the menagerie during the time when you increase the drop rate due to a community event (good old time and content), which is the perfect roll (for me, my play style) will be obsolete in September, only to be replaced by...the exact same roll, but with a new icon in top left ? I'm not here to say that players are king, and you have to serve them. But in the past, it was always a trade off - you give us something new and more interesting, and we were ready to let go our old gears. Today, there is nothing. You simply remove our gun and armor, without any counterpart. Same old guns, armors, perks (almost), with simply a higher light level. Why not let us infuse an old weapons, if the perk pool of the old one still exist in a re-issued model ? Is it a technical limitation ? I definitely can't see the logic (from my perspective as a player). If my old weapons exist in the new loot pool, where is the danger for the balance ? How does it give you more work to assure you that it doesn't break the game ? Nothing make sense here. I really, really hope that next season, you will bring us something that nobody was expecting. A new economy, new gear, mod, perk, that will finally allow us to understand what happen here and today. But until then, I'll be watching, and making my mind. Cheers.

 • It’s more of a buzz word than anything. It will be evolving in minor ways, but nothing dramatic. The following things are not indicative of an evolving world: 1. Replaying the same missions and killing the same named bosses from several story arcs ago. 2. Public spaces that never change to match the state of the universe save for maybe a singular seasonal activity. 3. Grinding for the same exact weapons that have been reissued but with no differences whatsoever other than their allowed power level. Those three thing alone encompass the majority of the game as we play it, and so the world does not feel like it is evolving. To be fair, the game would need an overhaul of sorts in order to actually pull it off. And so we have big dreams for the game but little delivery.
