SUNSETTING = Reissuing the Same Weapons over and Over Again
Sunsetting was Never a good idea to begin with its not fun having to regrind my perfectly rolled swarm of the raven for another one with a season of arrival stamp on it not fun

What do you think you’ve been living with the past three years. This seasons guns—-minus the trace rifle—-are simply reskins with a couple of perks that are re- combinations of existing perks.

Creating the base game caused a lot of these stupid decisions. Then you have the WoW guy that is the cause for most of the stupid decisions along with management, it's no wonder Activision left this company. It's 2020 people and this company is no further with this game having its own identity. Everything is right in front of this companies face to create a decent game and they can't even see it. HTF is that possible working on a game for 6 years and it's still being treated like a beta???

8 RespuestasProphecy Dungeon so cool! EP weapons... Those were good weapons man! It is not like a goodmeal you had 2 years ago and want to get once again. This is a looter shooter where they sunset 95% off all are loot just to recycle old loot and bring it back with higher light and random roll, extermely lazy to the point I am not pre-ordering anything and wait a week after release to see if it is any good

The enemies feels like you're fighting a Mimic horde and we've killed an Alpha Mimic 6 years ago. Now we are resetting the week over and over trying to do the same stuff over and over while expecting a different result. Game could have been called - "Destiny at the Edge of Tomorrow!" Friends: "So why do they call it Destiny? . . ." Me: "I don't know . . . . . . because it doesn't have one?"

1 RespuestaBest example of how annoying this is: At the end of last season i finally got the gambit scout with the demolitionist, but my excitement was short lived since i new that same scout was being recycled the next season with a new max light. it took me 3 weeks of grinding umbrals and unlocking the gift that allows umbral weapons to roll with 2 perks in the final column to re-acquire that same scout.

3 RespuestasI had my perfect bad omens before sunsetting was introduced, tacking / cluster bombs / master worked blast radius. then after receiving 5, FIVE, bad omens in one day i was "lucky" enough to get the exact same roll but this new bad omens has a triangle stamp in the corner of the thumbnail and can be infused to a higher level than my previous bad omens. Bungie please tell me how sunsetting solves the power creep "problem" or any other problems when i have the exact same weapon as before but one can have a higher power level than the other. the only way sunsetting makes sense is when its done so new weapons with new perks can be brought into the game, and i know new weapons are coming but you could at least give the existing weapons new perks. maybe a new perk for rocket launchers that let them carry 2 or 3 rockets in the drum.

3 RespuestasNew weapons can't be stronger because of PVP, so will get old ones back again and again and again. Just imagine how much better this game would be if PVE and PVP where split, so many limitations for both modes would be gone.

I already earned my god roll Swarm of the Raven back in Season Opulence. Now that roll from Season of Opulence is going to be useless starting in Season 12. But wait, Bungie decided to make a new Season 11 version of Swarm of the Raven (with the exact same perk combinations) that will be useful for the next year. However, you are going to need to grind for it again in Iron Banner. There is no way in hell I am going to re-grind for a new Season 11 version of Swarm of the Raven since I already grinded to get my god roll the first time. Since Bungie’s new model of “new gear” is just going to be re-issuing current gear, there needs to be a way to bring up your current version of said gear if you already have a god roll on it.

If that's honestly what they're intending to do then this game will be dead within the year. Not before everyone buys the fall expansion though, hoping that this somehow won't be the case.

I posted a suggestion for this. If a weapon is released and you infuse that re-released weapon (and only that weapon) into an older version of that weapon then, providing it has access to random rolls, the older version gains the symbol and new power cap for the re-released weapon.

All videogames basically re-issue the same weapons over and over again. There are x number of archetypes, then subtle variations within that set.

Sure...theyll change the name and the skin then its an all new rapid frame launcher with the perks youre trying to get your swarm had. Thats the other option other than them outright reissuing. Its still the same damn gun lol.

I am 100% against power capping, but the reason they are doing it is because of perks. A lot of weapons will drop with identical perks but there are certain perks that they don’t want together anymore. So that is why older weapons are being sunset. Don’t agree with it, but that’s the reason.
