Not sure why this change was made, but I hope the top 2% will carry the PVP forward as most middle to low tier players start to drop off. I have not seen this many mercy games since before shadowkeep and I find myself struggling to find any oppnent left alive in one game and the next it's like I am playing with 5 year olds (or very, very poorly configured bots).
I am 45 years old with poor reflexes and not the best PC setup, but I can hold my own most of the time. For the past year Crucible have been fun. Some games have been sweaty, but most have been even and fun. Just casual players going up against casual players.
Now however, the games are a pain. It's not that they are sweaty in the git-gud category, it's that I seem to only team up with unbrokens or lemmings helbent on suicide runs like the beheaded kamikaze guys from Serious Sam.
I do not understand why removing skill based match making was necessary instead of tweaking it to make the top 2% be the top 4-5% instead?
Regardless of your reasons crucible is now a cause of irritation rather than fun for me and many others. I usually reset Valor a handful times each season, but I doubt I will even reset it once this season. I'll just endure the pinnacle games for leveling up and that's it for me.
I'll be back when skill based match making is back again.

I never understood why people make these posts yet still play something “painful and frustrating”. Its not bungies fault or anyones elses but your own.
