Not sure why this change was made, but I hope the top 2% will carry the PVP forward as most middle to low tier players start to drop off. I have not seen this many mercy games since before shadowkeep and I find myself struggling to find any oppnent left alive in one game and the next it's like I am playing with 5 year olds (or very, very poorly configured bots).
I am 45 years old with poor reflexes and not the best PC setup, but I can hold my own most of the time. For the past year Crucible have been fun. Some games have been sweaty, but most have been even and fun. Just casual players going up against casual players.
Now however, the games are a pain. It's not that they are sweaty in the git-gud category, it's that I seem to only team up with unbrokens or lemmings helbent on suicide runs like the beheaded kamikaze guys from Serious Sam.
I do not understand why removing skill based match making was necessary instead of tweaking it to make the top 2% be the top 4-5% instead?
Regardless of your reasons crucible is now a cause of irritation rather than fun for me and many others. I usually reset Valor a handful times each season, but I doubt I will even reset it once this season. I'll just endure the pinnacle games for leveling up and that's it for me.
I'll be back when skill based match making is back again.

5 RespuestasI miss SBMM and I'm in the top 4% of PvP players apparently for stats. I could just chill in SBMM control, now I have to play at 110% with no chill. Just as much lag and longer queue times now too for some reason.

The only way to get SBMM back is to have your voice heard. Make post on the forum asking for sbmm back. Like all the post that want it back. And stop playing crucible. And tell your friends and have them spread the word. Don't play crucible, Show Bungie how we feel. Boycott crucible tell your friends If you want your pinnacle rewards go play elimination or comp, let the sweats play each other this season. Ps. If I don't respond to you, that means your not worth my time or effort.

6 RespuestasMore like a year of horrible crucible is over. Finally we can have fun again. Fixed it for you

5 RespuestasSBMM is terrible. CBMM is good. The low tier and very casual pvp players are the only ones sometimes impacted negatively by this, and they rarely play or should improve, so... With CBMM I can use whatever I want.

Honestly I just wish people would stop cheating in PVP. I’ve reported so many new Steam accounts for aim bots, lag switching, and hacks it’s ridiculous. I love an honest game, win/lose, but of late on PC, it’s like the cockroaches have taken over.

I never understood why people make these posts yet still play something “painful and frustrating”. Its not bungies fault or anyones elses but your own.

2 RespuestasI hear ya, I loved the crucible so gave cbmm a good try but it is literally a dumpster fire. Play one match and the other team is all poorly skilled or new and I go a 14 k/d then next game im loaded in to a match that we are already losing by 50 with 2 other players who haven't quit yet but instead just sit afk in spawn so now my options are to quit or endure 3 or more mins getting destroyed by the guys who say cbmm is great because they dont have to use meta loadouts but use nothing but meta loadouts. Neither of those scenario's are at all fun. So today after getting the pinnacle I deleted all my crucible bounties and unsubscribed to some of my favorite youtubers that primarily focused on pvp. Hopefully changes will be made when bungie reviews the game data and the population hits rock bottom.

3 RespuestasI don’t know what people are talking about. I waited in Cue for 5 minutes last night just to find a control match. We had 8 players. The only different off meta weapon I encountered was jade rabbit. Everything else was meta gnawing hunger, revoker, etc etc. I admit it was still fun but it’s still sweaty. My only complaint is it really seems there are less people playing now. When it was SBMM it was quick to find matches. Btw when they say there’s no lag I got shot through a wall lol.

16 RespuestasRemoving sbmm was a necessary and good change, it was choking the life out of the top half of the playerbase. This is literally how shooters have worked since the start, you play everyone, sometimes you do we, sometimes you don't, sometimes games are close, sometimes they are not. A varied experience is the healthiest for long term pvp. Elimination and survival are sbmm if you are determined to only play your tier of player

1 RespuestaDamn Ik skill based is good for the lower skilled players but you know facing sweats 99% of the time can be frustrating and it happened to me all the time when skill based was here

9 RespuestasNo clue what your talking about i get the same players on my team as last season now instead of getting mercied every other game I either carry my team with 30+ kills and win or lose... I barely played last season it was awful and you were not matched by skill
