Yes, it's been said plenty of times that the game is currently a bounty simulator.... but unlike the prior 2 seasons, there wasn't an activity that NEEDED the grind.
Grandmaster Nightfall is FINALLY a mode that encourages a well powered artifact. The problem? Who the f#ck wants to endlessly grind the bounties to get there!
And I'm probably further along than most in the community. All 3 characters have 1010 gear and I'm at +18 on the artifact. And since you need to get to rank 200 on the season pass to be +20, that would JUST get me to 1030 total power. Imagine the dedication (ie boredom) that it will take to reach +30 or +40 to be within decent range of the power delta?
Can I grind out bounties EVERY single day and get there? Possibly. Do I want to? Absolutely not.
Now people may say "Why bother, GM is probably going to suck anyway...... aside from the seal in the game".
Considering how light the season is (particularly for non-trials players and those already leaving trials), what else does this season have to offer? GMNF was one of the few activities being rolled out, but the power gap to get within striking distance is just absurd.
Without knowing anything about GMNF, it's safe to say we know what the mode will be like: 20+ champions, insanely accurate enemies, over leveled enemies that 1 shot you...................... all with limited revives. It's a challenge even without the power delta. It's going to be a challenge breaking Overload champs with swords or hand cannons. Wasting Divinity ammo on just 1 Ogre. All because 1060 is well out range for the majority of the community.
The grind wouldn't be so bad if activities offered us an accelerated rate to get there. But bounties are too efficient................................... so for those who don't eat & breathe Destiny, the grind doesn't seem worth it.

128 RespuestasWe'll share more details in today's TWAB on Grandmaster and how we are adjusting what is currently shown in the activity preview to not require as much grinding of the artifact.

I had to drop D2 for MW Warzone. It's the best Battle Royale game I never thought I'd play. Especially the Plunder mode. Unlike D2, every bit of money I spend in MW is spent on content I can play. Trials? GM Nightfalls? Nope. And yes, I know Trials was free, but the resources Bungie spent on it left paying players with next to nothing this season.

6 RespuestasEditado por munkt0r: 4/9/2020 9:46:26 PMHave you considered just having a bit of fun and not only focusing on grinding? Serious question. I used to have the same issues until I realized "Oh hey, it doesn't matter if i'm doing it week 1 or not." *EDIT* This community literally downvotes suggestions of having fun.

So now that they capped the power level at 125 for the Grand Master, looks like you don't need to grind out anymore bounties... How sad..
-
Good thing no one is going to do it

13 RespuestasBut Luke Smith thinks this is fun. You know, I've been playing a few other games lately and I've realized that Destiny 2 is by far... BY FAR... the most boring, un-creative, un-rewarding game in my collection right now. I spent about three hours yesterday playing Borderlands 3 - which I still haven't been able to finish because that campaign is massive - and had a really great time. The bounties there are missions themselves. Unbelievable the amount of detail and hard work they put into those side quests, and there's so many of them! All unique stories, all interesting, love the dialogues, love the random weapons... it was a great gaming experience. Then I thought about firing up D2 to do my bounties out of habit... and felt like throwing up.

1 RespuestaI had absolutely no interest in running GMNF when they first revealed then. I don't think I've even run the nightfall on Master aside from 1 time for the Triumph back in Shadowkeep. As long as you can still get 100k from Legend I probably never will play NF on anything higher anyway :) Not a fan of Bungie's method for "Challenging content" when all they ever do is just slap 10-15 "screw you" modifiers on and crank the level up stupidly high.

Oh I here ya. Most players probably won’t even be able to get to the 1025 delta. I’m close myself, but not with weapons I’m forced to use because of the champion mod requirements, and I’m not going out of my way on it.
-
This is why I only really do pvp. I don't enjoy grinding anymore.
-
Don't worry, they have a cap on grandmaster nightfalls power level so you don't need to.
-
it’s capped at 1025 now

4 RespuestasI thought they mentioned before that they were increasing the amount of Pinnacles that you will be able to obtain. I imagine this increase will occur around the same time the Grandmaster releases allowing us to more quickly close the gap each passing week.

2 RespuestasIt's not for normal players it was made so **tards oh sorry I mean influencers like byf or dato can make yt and twitch content. Btw jus wait for "GMNF carry 500$" :P
-
I, understand. A ridiculous grind with 3 things, to do to level up effectively.

3 RespuestasEditado por General Cellist: 4/10/2020 1:49:53 AMThe grandmaster nightfalls are really an achievement for the dedicated grinders/gamers. Meanwhile, I'm just sad that there's no use for a power level above 1025 in any activity now. It makes me feel like I wasted a lot of effort grinding out my characters to their current levels, around 1035.

4 RespuestasBeing 1030 is very possible if the whole team is 1030. Being above 1040 makes the encounter easier and solo-able.

1 RespuestaCongrats dude. You’re done. Nothing over 2025 helps.

3 Respuestasthis grandmaster nightfall is not very well planned. Bungie set the Grandmaster light level at 1050, that means we need an extra 40 light in order to par with it. Last season thanks to the sundial tower bounties Method, I got to a Season rank of 896, and that gave me an extra +41 bonus in light level. But that requires turn in hundreds and thousands of bounties, and I don’t think we can do the same with this seasons setup. I remember back in season of the drifters, Bungie put all the eggs in that one basket, and it turn out not that good, not many people like gambit. Now they are doing the same, but put them all in pvp trials, which I believe the season will turn out even more worse.
-
No reason to get higher than 1025. Read the TWAB.

Editado por xbroggiex: 4/9/2020 7:27:40 PMThe problem with bounties is the oversaturation of bounties in D2 that have made them unrewarding, for example in D1 there was not a lot of bounties compared to D2 but they were relatively rewarding to do depending on which ones you picked up and things like queens wrath bounties allowed you to get awoken themed gear when you ranked up high enough. D1 Bounties: Strike Bounties 6x General Bounties 6x Crucible Bounties 6x Elite Strike Bounties 3x Crucible Weapon Bounties x5 Weekly Crucible Shaxx Bounties x2 Queens Wrath x5 I think... House of Judgement bounties x2 Shiro Bounties x4 Court of Oryx Crota's Bane bounty - this has 3 steps with increasing crotas bane rep for each It is quite a lot of bounties honestly but in total is around... 40-42 if you count the extra steps for the court of oryx one. Now the rewards were quite good with the crucible weapon bounties granting potentially iron banner and trials gear, while the weekly shaxx bounties could offer iron banner armour or trials armour and could also grant emblems like the scarab heart emblem. Shiro bounties granted lots of rep and queens wrath, crotas bane and house of judgement bounties would grant rep towards rewards tailored to that vendor so Petra could give awoken themed gear for example. While D2 we have... 2 weekly zavala bounties 4 daily zavala bounties Repeatable zavala bounties 2 weekly crucible bounties 4 daily crucible bounties repeatable crucible bounties 2 weekly gunsmith bounties 3 or 4 daily gunsmith bounties repeatable gunsmith bounties 4 weekly benedict bounties 2-4 weekly gambit bounties I cant remember how many lots of daily gambit bounties 4 drifter service bounties where you can get infamy without playing gambit. 2 weekly Ada bounties 5 daily Ada bounties During Undying 2 weekly VO bounties 5 daily VO bounties repeatable VO bounties During Dawn 4 daily s-14 bounties During worthy 2 weekly trials bounties 4 daily trials bounties 4-5 weekly clan bounties Now lets leave the tower... 3 EDZ bounties 2 weekly and 4 daily bunker bounties along with repeatable bounties if its the challenge that week. 3 Titan bounties 3 Nessus Bounties 3 IO Bounties 2 weekly and 4 daily bunker bounties along with repetable bounties if its the challenge that week. 3 Mercury bounties 3 Mars bounties 2 weekly moon bounties 4 daily moon bounties with repeatable bounties 2 weekly nightmare bounties 4 daily nightmare bounties with repeatable bounties 2 weekly and 4 daily bunker bounties and repeatable bounties if its the challenge that week. 2 weekly dreaming city bounties 5 daily dreaming city bounties 3 daily tangled shore bounties 14 weekly wanted bounties Then while Dawn was active... 8 weekly obelisk bounties Timelost bounties as well With this many bounties which is many more than D1 and the rewards have been reduced so much that there is no point of doing them outside of XP farming now. So with the lowest numbers here and only counting worthy bounties on top we have a total of... 113! -blam!-ING BOUNTIES! COMPARED TO -blam!-ING 40-42! That is with the assumption of 8 daily Gambit bounties as I cannot remember thats why put "a lot" of gambit bounties. It can also be essentially infinite since we have repeatable bounties now...
-
I don’t do bounties constantly but levelled up nicely . I’ve stopped doing bounties all together now . So good!
-
It's not meant for you to play silly, it's only meant for streamers that go non-stop to play while everyone else watches.

I genuinely miss the old destiny. Leveling up through crucible, strikes, raids, nightfalls, story missions...All of it. Unfortunately it seems like the only content that's available is bounties. Especially given the fact the activity this season has no matchmaking. It takes unbelievably long to get a group together as a solo player. I really want to play destiny, but the content this season is incredibly boring. I don't want to grind bounties all day, whoever thinks that's a fun mechanic is out of their mind. Plus why would I spend dozens of hours upgrading bunkers if all my progress gets wiped away at the end of the season. Disappointing. At this point Im deeply regretting buying the season pass along side shadowkeep.
