What we do know is that in the world of Destiny is that the Traveler arrived in our solar system in the year 2014 which marks the beginning of the Golden Age. Beyond this date we have little information regarding dates in a manner relative to our own dating system (i.e. the Gregorian Calendar). Destiny likes to tell us stories in their own "time bubble" in which it might state: "It has been three days since I arrived on Mars looking for clues". This gives us information about the story's timeline, but it doesn't give us any information date wise regarding the rest of the Destiny universe. Telling your story that way would probably make your story feel more at home in the world of Destiny.
