Bungie, please explain why:

A game we payed for is charging for in game items any self respecting MMO charging us the full price of a game every year would have just simply included as earn-able content.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the rest of you :
I'd like you all to see these quotes from the TWAB:
We want players to know what something costs before they buy it. Bright Engrams don’t live up to that principle so we will no longer be selling them on the Eververse Store, though they will still appear on the Free Track of the Season Pass.

This Season, we are continuing to focusing our efforts on direct purchasing through the Eververse Store.
So, the first one, is a lie.
Lootboxes and selling of "random" items in in game stores is getting cracked down on. I find it insulting Bungie is trying to spin this like its a favor to the players.
The second is just Bungie letting you know that because of whoever runs the place wants more money, they are going to put more and more content into the store.

1 RespuestaThank you Europe. Their customer protect laws will crush the gambling aspect of loot boxes. They had to change. But hey, claim victory and take the higher ground- bungle Season of EVERVERSE incoming. So many -blam!- throwing money at a screen. Sad. Very sad.
-
Fix the lousy Bright Dust economy and I’ll be happy to let Bungie continue selling a fraction of the stock for Silver only.
-
2 RespuestasThe Destiny you know is gone, it's pretty much a mobile game on console now.
-
They added a ornament for warlocks half way through the season due to it being made late. And guess what, it was never sold despite every other class having sold all their ornaments (2 of them) and warlocks only selling the 1 they had at the time. BS excuse to not add something to eververse and to just get a quick buck
-
Gonna throw money at the screen for that warlock and hunter gear
-
1 RespuestaUnfortunately people are willing to pay Bungie money for this stuff. Only way to stop it by people not buying it. If there is a Destiny 3 we'll probably see another large increase in MTX, same as the jump from D1 to D2.
-
8 RespuestasRemoval of Bright Engram purchasing has nothing to do with any legal repercussions. More than likely they aren't selling well because they're all old stuff so Bungie is replacing them with this new daily shill.
-
Why is it people who defend the item shop always miss the point of why it’s hated. It’s not like we care what people spend their money on. It’s simply that Bungie doesn’t put effort into game based rewards.
-
2 RespuestasI will not be buying anything from Bungie moving forward unless Bungie abandons infusion retirement.... or at least comes up with a better solution that doesn't make older gear completely irrelevant in light enabled activities. Just saying...
-
9 RespuestasEVERVERSE is actually the ONLY thing in the game that never has bugs, glitches, crashes, or error codes.
-
If you are unaware this change is being done because laws are changing over the world where "Loot Boxes" are deemed a form of gambling. One could build the case that because you are playing money for a set of random rewards it would fall under the new laws being put in place. THE REASON bungie wrote all that pillow fluff is because they cant say that. It could be taken out of context by some PC helicopter parent or nut job activist group because it implys that knew or had an opinion on the topic. The best course of action was to avoid that massive land mine and hope we could read between the lines.

13 Respuestaswaaaaaaa cosmetic for silver waaaaaaaaaaaa
The second is just Bungie letting you know that because of whoever runs the place wants more money,
So basically like every other -blam!-ing business in existence?
-
44 RespuestasOh dear a company that needs money to pay for the people that work on it is asking for money REEEEEEE GREEDY REEEEE Take a economic class and come back
-
3 RespuestasIf only there was a way to not have to purchase optional cosmetic items 🤔
-
The stuff's going to be expensive. People could have spent $100 or more to get the item they wanted with random chance/hidden odds lootboxes, and that model could have accounted for half of their profits. Prices are going to have to get pricey to make up for it.
-
You may have paid for it but not every player has. I don't begrudge them wanting to maintain a steady stream of income. I'll personally never spend real money on cosmetic items, but obviously a decent number of players do.
-
People keep buying this stuff so Bungie has no reason to stop. If I can sell you your own hat why would I stop doing it if it's clear that you're gonna keep paying?
-
I have no problem with Bungie doubling down on Eververse. I just double downed on not installing D2 to my hard drive.

8 Respuestas
A game we payed for is charging for in game items any self respecting MMO charging us the full price of a game every year would have just simply included as earn-able content.
...and what MMO is this?? Because EVERY MMO that I've ever played has had MTX....and sub fees.

9 RespuestasThe removal of the bright engram for silver truly IS a very positive thing. However, I wonder if hardly anyone was buying it anyway and that was a major (sleazy) motivation for removing it. It was very shitty that they made the daily rotating item sell for silver instead of bright dust though.

How’s the first one a lie

2 RespuestasSeattle ain’t cheap.

5 RespuestasIsn't them putting past Season items into the store pretty much in response to players digressing that the short-term availability of items in Season leads to a sense that they could easily miss out on them since they may not see return at any definite point? This seems like it's entirely a win for players as items won't actually be gone indefinitely. Sounds like a decrease of that "fomo" that people were throwing around willy-nilly. ...and at a discount as well. Really the only way this can be spun as a negative is saying that people who bought the items previously paid full price, but that's just basic sales and retail, so welcome to business I guess?

7 RespuestasCosts money to keep employees at their work stations. As long as everyone in the company isn't driving a new Lamborghini every season I'm sure the monetization practices are necessary.
