While I am for weapon retirement (boo downvote to hell!) there is one thing that needs to be said about pinnacle weapons. These weapons felt like a huge achievement when earned which is great however, to have them stripped from our hands after earning them feels like a huge slap in the face. Yes, they are like exotics with the perks that they have but they were made this way so that they felt worth the grind.
All I'm asking from Bungie with this post is to consider either taking pinnacles along or at least introduce new pinnacles that are comparable to the ones that will be left behind, otherwise I feel this decision to retire weapons will hurt the already waning trust in the community right now as apparent by all the other posts regarding this issue. Heck I'd even take pinnacles becoming exotics after they've been "retired" so that they are at least there in the pinnacle activities only now with the limiting exotic factor to consider.

I think they should be retired but I’d like to see new pinnacles or even the same perks but applied to different weapon archetypes. For instance, a Rodeo 110 handcannon (likely broken) or a master or arms side arm.

18 RespuestasRetiring pinacles means they could reintroduce those perks on other weapons. And it is not like they get removed. You can still use them in 90% of the activities.

2 RespuestasPinnacles have already been "stripped from our hands". Magnificent howl is now embarrassing, master of arms now worse than kill clip, and breakneck a shadow of its former self, even with the bug fix. Oxygen is awful, revoker is very average with a semi interesting perk, mountaintop is OK but average in pvp since reload nerfs. Hush was always garbage, wendigo outclassed by SOTR. Only 21% and loaded question are actually good. Pinnacles are shit now.

2 RespuestasMindbenders, spare rations, beloved, bygones, any kind of shotgun, arbalest, the last word, hammerhead, lord of wolves, jotunn, izanagi, love and dead. Recluse? buff the another SMG's and no one will use it anymore (i don't use it) Luna's howl? tell me what kind of hand cannon isn't used on crucible since you can 2~3 shots everyone. Now you tell me that you want to take off all pinnacles while you see 10 mindbenders and spare rations in a single crucible? Look at twitch and tell me where they are spamming pinnacle weapons, and for every mindbenders/spare rations you find is one punch in your face for being a crybaby. I got my Redrix yesterday, if you can't do the same so shame on you.

3 RespuestasI have 3 kills with Not Forgotten, I'd like a reason to grow that number, not cement it.

I just wish we could have honest conversation on the forums about this

3 RespuestasHow can you be for weapon retirement, but not want all weapons retired? I worked harder getting a well rolled Austringer than I did some of the pinnacles. If they are going to commit to the system then get rid of them all. Hopefully everyone that likes the system sees how much time was wasted achieving pinnacles/god rolls.

3 RespuestasIt literally took me 1 and a half years to get Luna's Howl. And now it's gonna be capped. Nice.

They are honestly the problem. I DO thibk they should give all guns the Luna/NF analysis though PvP wise. They saw an issue with those guns and adjusted them accordingly. They could loom at spar rations and immediately see why it’s so used. Highest aim assist, best archetype. Easy. Want to make othe guns viable? Make them better or make spare rations worse. Reduce the AA. Make it a 140. He’ll make it a 110. These are relatively easy adjustments I’d thibk and don’t require months and months of testing.

3 RespuestasEditado por Balderdash1112: 3/5/2020 5:24:03 AMI don’t like the weapon retirement thing, I hate that I can’t use my gear n pinnacle content. However, I understand y it’s necessary in order to keep the game from growing stagnant. I already don’t find much excitement from the new legendary weapons cause I have pretty much every god roll n the game, and lf weapon retirement gives me something to chase and look forward to then I’m okay with it.

2 RespuestasPinnacle weapons are the reason why this system is needed lol. I honestly don’t know why people are getting upset about this it’s going to be better for everyone. I think people are not seeing the positives and just focusing on taking away guns. The system we have now leads to your precious pinnacles getting nerfs into the ground so you loose them anyways. Now the new system means they stay as strong as ever but just limited to where you can use them after 12 months. Using a gun for 12 months your probably ready for new weapon loadout right lol. It’s end game like NF/Trials/IB and Raids they won’t be useful in after 12 months. So if you want to play normal pvp you could of have not forgotten in its glory days, or want to farm strikes, gambit, patrols or play old raids you could use guns like Ep shotgun or recluse or breakneck in their strongest forms and not nerfed versions of them. Not only that it allows bungie to be a bit more crazy with some guns as they won’t effect the end game moving forward. So imagine even stronger pinnacle weapons then the few I list and not this safe boring ritual weapons we’re getting now.

Pinnacles are the primary reason there doing this. They dont want to have to make pinnacles every season and they dont want to make weapons that can compete with them. I would get of pennicals in a split second before I get rid of something I farmed for.

1 RespuestaThe pinnacles are likely one of the biggest causes OF this retirement change so the chances of them being untouched is...unlikely.
-
Editado por MEGANAUTe: 3/5/2020 6:19:40 AMThis is exactly how people feel who grinding out their god rolls. Don’t understand how pinnacles are different at all.

6 RespuestasPinnacles are the only ones that deserve to be capped, IMO. They’ve caused massive imbalance in the sandbox, and I presume is a big reason that all legendaries are getting capped.
-
I might be the only person who feels like the memory of the journey was the best part of the experience...but maybe not. I'll never forget how difficult the original mouse tainted quest was and how long it took to finish. With that said, I dont use my pinnacles all that much now, so it doesnt bother me. I might not be able to bring them into endgame, but I will still have my trophies to remind me of the achievement.

3 RespuestasEditado por Smough: 3/5/2020 4:26:22 PMIt’s taken me months of grinding to get certain normal legendaries with the perks I wanted, much longer than it takes to get a pinnacle which besides redrix’s and nf can easily be obtained in a day or two. You either cap none of it, or you cap all of it. Although why you say that you’re for the light cap but then come here saying “Oh but I don’t want these weapons capped” is beyond me.

Why would we want new pinnacles introduced? To grind our arses off, only to have them retired again? That's a big No Thank You from me. Either leave pinnacles alone or remove long grinds from weapons that will inevitably become redundant
-
Idk about u but recluse and lunas only felt like an achevievment to me because those seasons were a little difficult to hit fabled for me, but the other ones were just huge grind fests

I think the retirement idea is mainly aimed at the pinnacles and the spike gl launchers. That’s the pve meta so add iza into that and they’ve basically wiped out the whole pve meta. Expect to see new ritual/pinnacles with clone perks of master of arms, desperado, onslaught, loaded battery etc.

1 RespuestaYour title had me thinking you were for pinnacles being retired. I was ready to scorn and downvote like the next internet randumb. 😂 I agree, and pinnacles will probably be safe since they're quest rewards, and those quests SHOULD always be in the game. Hopefully Bungie won't be that disrespectful to the community, but like with Borderlands and The Division, they dont care about your top tier stuff. New level cap, new grind...
