Sniper Nerf Bad
Seriously? You guys are about to light a fire with gasoline in a sh**storm. It's a TERRIBLE idea because you have designed the PvE meta (enemy health, difficulty, enemy damage, etc) to promote sniper use. So a drastic nerf like this will severly hurt players dipping into the higher level content JUST AS YOU ARE ABOUT TO RELEASE A HARDER NIGHTFALL.
And you're doing this without buffing primary weapons in PvE? Scouts shoot nerf darts in high level content, fusions are also being nerfed, grenade launchers are being nerfed....
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT US TO DO? Run at a Nightfall boss with a Shotgun?
I was already disappointed with Season of Dawn and these changes to the PvE meta are in no way good. I will be one of many not coming back for the next season with changes like these. No thanks.
BTW, Division 2 made this same mistake early after the game's release. They nerfed anything that was viable while not making anything else better. Look how that turned out... good for Destiny 2, bad for them. So with Division 2 fixing their game like you did in Forsaken... you are just sending us over there for our "Looter Shooter" craving.

4 Respuestasi think the nerf is well deserved , theres tons of ways to do dps in this game and izanagi was pretty stupid tbh. The fact that you can 1 phase the new raid boss with it proves it. Lets be honest here , the game was not forgiving to new light players as people who made raids were asking for izanagi + catalyst to join in so they can 1 phase pretty much every encounter. The encounters is what made the raids fun and devs wont make it interesting anymore if you rush it down to 1/4 of the actual fight with a broken weapon. Just becauz snipers got nerfed doesnt means it will be bad , it just wont be as good as it was cauz it was a lazy low risk high reward dmg. All theses nerfs were made cauz the content was really too easy. For -blam!- sake , ppl cleared garden of salvation in 12 minutes , theres ppl killing the last boss with 3 players. While i agree some players that are really good at the game makes it more hard to the majority of the community becauz they point out builds and tricks to do tons of dmg in such a shot amount of time, nerfs is part of the game and maybe , just MAYBE the meta wll shift from having izanagi / recluse / swarm of the raven. As a veteran player of d2 and d1 , i love nerfs cauz it makes you shift your loadouts to play the game differently and not be judged for it. Git good or get out

Honestly, sniper nerf wasn’t significant enough to make them unusable. It will just take longer and a bit more running around collecting ammo than before.

3 RespuestasI’m throwing this out there as much as I can. I’ve heard that exotic snipers never received the buff legendary snipers did at the beginning of SK. So how can they revert the power level back to pre SK if they never received the buff? I’d love to see Bungie comment on this.

40 RespuestasI completely disagree. As they are currently there's absolutely no counter to them. I've been sniped while pelting someone with a heavy machine gun. That's -blam!-ing stupid. The lack of flinch and the insane aim assist is allowing people to jump snipe or slide out of cover and dome you immediately. There is literally no counter to this type of weapon. If they plan to balance the game then having no counter is not the way to go. Shotguns are getting a nerf so are fusions. Its only fair snipers do too.

I don’t know what happened. I’d assume that snipers made the game too easy for some people so it was thrown on the chopping block.

I'd be okay with it, but only if they buffed box breathing so it was on par with trench barrel.

3 RespuestasHonestly I didn’t hate division 1, aside from the severe bullet sponges and top tier gear being locked behind forced pvp (I don’t enjoy pvp, and that area just encouraged “ganking”, aka attacking you while you are fighting something) did they work on that in div2?

Does the precision damage reduction got adaptive frames effect PvP too? It would be a shame if 90 RPM rifles couldn't one-headshot-kill a super.

Next season's PvE meta looks like we're going back to Exotic heavy weapon spam for bosses (probably Whisper and Prospector) and Shotties for champions and majors. Bear in mind that staggering a champion, well, staggers them. It'll be easy to melt them after that. It just means that the days of insta-killing champions with Divinity and Izi are (probably) over.

4 RespuestasWhat’s funny is Bungie has already “learned” this lesson. D2 vanilla was a bland, boring, well balanced steamy pile of feces. They put Chris Barrett in charge to make the game fun again, which they did with warmind & forsaken, and now since Shadowkeep has gone right back down the same path as vanilla D2. I really don’t understand them.

1 RespuestaI understand the frustration but there will still be plenty of ranged play and up close play and I think that's truly healthy for the game otherwise the game should be called Sniper's Destiny since everyone wants to be pansies and sit in the back(I don't too often).
