Pretty much the same complaint as everyone else.
I'm not gonna be crass and insult the company as a whole, I do get the impression that the people there want to make a good game, but it's pretty clear that this quest was released without any consideration of the annoyance of it, especially for those who don't enjoy Crucible.

If you don’t play near heavy, the rocket launcher kills can take a while. It took me 11 games to get 10 rocket launcher kills. First 9 games I only managed 3 kills! Decided to play like a biatch near heavy in my final 2 games and got it done. Whoever came up with that bounty did not deserve a Xmas bonus lol

Reinforces the NO capture No Defend Iron Banner “clash”. First day everybody captures zones, and finish bounties. Then, bring on the campers. Totally miss the rotation of different crucible mode for D1 Iron Banner. Iron Banner originally was to honor the Iron Lords with team work, not individual achievement. Last day, top player, most kills, highest KD, and 0 - 1 captures. Maybe kills x total captures = total individual points for team points. Or even, more captures = less time to wait for next match. Zero captures may never find match. Laggers kicked forever.

1 RespuestaLast week I was at work and saw all these posts about how aweful the ib quest was. I was quaking in my boots when I decided to hunker down and finish it on my titan.. had a few HC kills to go until the dreaded RL step.. Finished the HC and swapped to wardriff coil.. I mean.. why wouldn't I. Efficiency.. 3 matches later. I was done.. I was surprised and figured maybe I was lucky.. I started the entire quest on my hunter.. and within 20 matches.. maybe it was less but, it was more than 15 for sure.. I completed the entire quest line. Come on people.. 15-20 matches is not that much..i'm not a pvp god, I enjoy it and i;m decent but, realistically did you really think you would get 10 kills in 1 or 2 matches.. or that within 5 matches you would complete everything.. its a week long grind.. i'm dissapointed in the entire community -blam!- about this step.. be honest.. how many matches did it take and is that really asking to much, even if it was 10 matches.. is that to much to ask.. I really don't think so.

4 RespuestasHaving read most of the previous comments (I skipped over the obvious "git gud noob" trolls and the personal insults directed at Bungie employees), I want to echo some of what has already been said but also add criticism. The problem with the IB quest this season isn't that it forces players to use weapons they might not prefer, its that players must completely change how they play to get the quest done quickly. Players are no longer playing the objective, they are playing to get the kills they need. The final RL kill step being by far the worst, but the shotgun kill step changed behavior in a similar way... just to a lesser extent. Some people got lucky and completed the RL kills in a few games. I ran into bubble titans almost EVERY game and I think that in most games I was paired with teammates who were literal potatoes. Getting those RL kills took me over four hours. And this is something that the previous comments haven't mentioned... after four hours of IB and some of the most toxic pvp gameplay I've ever dealt with, I was finally ready to claim the reward. What did Lord Saladin have for me? Was it a full set of fully masterworked IB armor? No. Was it a special curated roll of an IB weapon? No. Was it an exotic catalyst? No. Was it a pile of IB tokens that I could use to try to get a spike grenade Swarm of the Raven that REFUSES TO DROP FOR ME? No. It was shaders. Some very green shaders... that I will never put on anything because while they're not the ugliest shaders in the game, they're still not very good looking. Seriously Bungie, if you're going to create a quest that is going to cause toxic behavior in an already toxic playlist, then the reward had better be worth it.

1 RespuestaEven for those who enjoy Crucible (about to pass 80,000 kills) the Rocket Launcher one is annoying. People are only focused on the heavy, so the actual games is an after thought. You can go multiple games with never getting heavy even if you try to just play the heavy game with everyone else. If they put heavy on each side like D1 with the frequency of D2 it would be great.
-
1 RespuestaI spent the same amount of time in iron banner as I always do, don’t understand the complaints.
-
Or let it be used as an opportunity to bring up the BS that is D2’s heavy ammo economy. I remember times in D1 that had heavy kills as quest requirements, but none drew this kind of ire because the heavy system made sense. The two different spawns made it easier for everyone to get heavy consistently, and made for more interesting gameplay, as rather than just camping one spot all game, you could stay by your heavy, or try and push the other team’s and get both. It didn’t serve as a steamroll mechanic as much as it did a mid-game shakeup that still allowed for quests to get done

I agree. This quest system for iron banana has people playing the game for the quest not to win or for fun. I normally love iron banana but doing the quest make us play different. Weather it other team mates sitting back not playing the objective to.get scout kills or people running around with a shotgun not.varing about zones just getting those kills. Or the ones that camp or use their super to get the heavy it's not fun at all. I have done it on all 3 characters and thankfully won't need to do it again until next season.
-
I don't understand why the quest isn't just requiring wins, zone captures, power plays and so on. If it were done this way it would also help new players learn the mode by requiring them to play properly and not just gate us. Personally I enjoy Iron Banner more than regular Control, maybe its the hunts, I don't know, but this quest step has really turned me off. Its a shame really. This is all clearly a lack of forthought on Bungie's end. Rocket Launchers, what could go wrong? Everything.

Thank you for being respectful with your feedback. Have some silver, you earned it.
-
You shouldn't have to complete the quest to turn in tokens. The quest should just unlock ornaments, possibly even universal ones for that Season's armor set.
-
Very well said, I completely agree. It reminds me of how the player base had to unlock the forges. Well, with Iron Banner you have to unlock your ability to use tokens. Hopefully Bungie will stop doing this just like they eventually unlocked the forges.
-
In the most disrespectful way possible, the game is shit.
-
1 Respuesta
but it's pretty clear that this quest was released without any consideration of the annoyance of it
They know damn well what the -blam!- they are doing. Numerous quests and bounties are available right now that have stacked requirements for different weapon types, enemies, etc. This was a deliberate decision to artificially extend play time. This is what a Bungie-controlled Destiny with a renewed focus on PvP looks like.
-
More Eververse, we hear you Guardian.
-
Agreed. It's just worrying that there was clearly no thought put into this.

3 RespuestasTook me 18 games to get 10 final blows..... 18!! Solo que games.... I mainly matched 4, 5 and 6 stacks camping heavy with bubbles and wells...
-
You are a better man than me. I think insults are needed. I've essentially stopped playing. It is an embarrassment that theIB armour is in it's third go around. How I wasn't grandfathered in after just getting it in Sept. Screw them. By far the laziest company I have ever seen. Bungie needs to get snapped back to reality. Quick! As currently constituted, Bungie is off-limits.
-
Same im usually on bungies side but this season is a mess.... This iron banner is almost the last straw I'm wasting so much of my time for 10 rocket kills...I always looked forward to ib for my pinnacles but this is cancerous the stress is unreal

3 RespuestasEditado por TrulyDontCare: 12/28/2019 3:19:40 PMAs long as they don’t block ALL of the rewards until it’s completed, I’m fine with it. As is, I’m getting pretty pissed at the rocket step and might just quit without cashing in my massive stack of tokens. 😡🤬
-
I honestly don't understand the point of Iron Banner quests. Its pretty much the same damn thing every season. All for armor that does nothing special. I miss just turning in my plethora of tokens for the set and just playing for the hell of it. Not to mention this season is asking us to bother earning the same cosmetics a THIRD time. I give up on Banner, man. Just not worth it considering I'm just gonna slap some EV ornaments on the armor and call it a day. My more readily obtainable and fresh looking Righteous gear can use those same mods as well.
-
1 RespuestaI remember logging on to IB in D1, playing with whatever weapons I wanted and getting some good gear and calling it a day. These pigeonhole quests are not fun and unnecessary.
-
They have been doing it for awhile claiming they're listening and will implement the feedback next season. Then they don't.
-
The only way it will change is if we stop playing and move onto something else unfortunately. Same with the eververse endgame
-
They could at least have chosen steps that would contribute to winning a game rather than being counterproductive to winning a game .. objectives Capture zones Initiate hunts Survive hunts Win games Voilá 4 bounties that do not remove players from the game by having them camp heavy or shotgunape around ..

1 RespuestaI love IB. Got on and was having a great time. Don't mind the quest. Change it up a bit use some different weapons, shoot some faces. Annnddd then Rocket launchers. Why? just why? It is ridiculous. You have to use a weapon that you may or may not be able to get ammo for in any given match. You only get one shot per ammo grab, and it takes forever. Suddenly it is not so enjoyable. I may not even finish. About to turn it off.
