I spent a huge amount of time grinding for materials to masterwork my armor last season. Never even got a pair of Orpheus Rigs I needed either. And now on top of it, my time was wasted because the new mod slot makes my previous armor obsolete.
Armor 2.0 was initially presented to players as an investment into our builds. Specifically, a time investment. So we do that, and then we have to do it all over again every season? That's ridiculous.
Don't make us feel like our time was wasted. Update all Armor 2.0 pieces with the seasonal mod slot if the slot has to exist, or tie the slots to the artifact or something. The current system makes our previous investment feel like it never mattered.

Editado por Messenger: 1/20/2020 5:05:54 AMA compromise to maintain a bit of the grind. If the mod slots were not universal. Which would be ideal. At least the seasonal mod slots should be Backwards Compatible, so that the previous seasons mods can fit in current armor sets. Meaning each season you still need to grind out one current generation set of high stat armor... x3 affinities ... x3 characters :-( ... but then you can also slot any older mod like armaments or nightmare hunt stuff into it, and so you would not need to clog up your vault with so many redundant armor sets for old raids, activities and such.

81 RespuestasWe are gathering feedback on the new season mods and how players would like them to be made available on all sets.
-
the amount of armor sets needed to use all the seasonal mods is just crazy, not talking about masterworking them all, thats even more problematic
-
Nope, you're going to do it every season because Bungie doesn't have a story, a raid, or any endgame ... that's that meaningful grind they kept referring to lmao. You've got at least three more seasons of it too!

What powerful rewards give season of dawn armour?
-
Yep totally agree 😎👍

Complete waste of my time, probably won’t bother anymore, not with this 3 month disposable season rubbish.

1 RespuestaIt's a double edge sword, here's why. On the one hand, you could remove all requirements from armor to equip certain types of mods, meaning more customizability with your armor set. This would allow you to get a set of armor you like and keep it throughout the remainder of Destiny 2's lifespan. However, this would be the end of chasing certain armor sets for certain types of activities. For example, in D1, I had a set of raid armor for each raid per character, these sets of armor were made specifically for the raid with mods that were meant specifically for the raid. It was nice to get rewards through gameplay that would provide benefits for that activity. The armor last season accomplished this pretty well, giving you mods that allowed you to benefit from both Nightmare Hunts and Garden of Salvation. The problem with the mods from this season is that the new mods are not specifically tied to activities in this season, they are more general mods that can be used in all activities. With that said, I sympathize with the sentiment that it is nice to have certain mods changed to be universal, I do like the seasonal mod slot for specific mods tied to activities from that season.

I hate it but stopped masterworking armor a while ago....it’s too much, and is pointless
-
Yeah, I feel like I wasted a ton of time and resources masterworking any undying armor and I didn't even get all of it because they kicked me off minutes before I could get the last piece, for maintenance.😑
-
Year 4 change. We're listening.
-
Who even care about this useless slot? lol))
-
Making us waste our time on that which inevitably will be made obsolete is how Bungie has operated this entire franchise. A very poor choice indeed, and among the many reasons why I've stopped giving them my money.
-
Up vote .... Couldn't agree more

2 RespuestasEach season a Mod slot should be added that only accepts mods from that season. Make the seasonal mods stack while they are at it. Let our guardians be powerful over time, not get barely more powerful and then lose it every season...
-
4 RespuestasSpecifically which armor are you talking about because my new mods work on my last seasons armor...
-
And EVERY armor drop needs to have it. Not just 3 sets.
-
1 RespuestaThis should not be a surprise. We were informed of this before Year 3 started, that's why I have not logged in for 4 months.
-
They've been doing this since d1 launched. It's my biggest complaint tbh and it's the reason I stopped doing end game activities trying to get Max light ECT. I mean everyone who grinds out the pinnacle cap for weeks on end just for me to pass that cap in a matter of hours after a new season/dlc drops is kinda a slap in the face. Then when you add the mid maxing grind on top of that just for the armour to become obsolete. I just can't do it anymore. Although, I still enjoy Destiny and have the highest hopes for the guys at bungie. I also believe they've accomplished so much without the aid of a major publisher. I hope to watch as this game succeeds. I just won't be taking part in end game grinds unless it's pvp related! Hopefully but doubtfully trials drops today boys!

seasonal mod slots should be universal.

To be Honest the mods don't look that good. Get a armor set you like and masterwork it. This will be the armor you use for everything. Besides season stuff. With seasonal stuff get the armor and only level it so far for mods and stuff. Next season the mods might not be useable bc the activity might go awhile. This is like this to keep you on a grind. Let say you get an armor set with perfect stats and its all upgraded. Next season comes around and if you could slot the updated season mod then theirs no point to grind out for the armor unless you're just trying to collect them all. I'd grind for armor if I like the look but not for a season mod slot. That type of grind is for hardcore playing who want the best every season. But like I said..the mods don't seem that good and you only can use them in the sundial I'm pretty sure

1 RespuestaIf i do a GoS raid and obtain gear, will that gear be able to hold this seasons mods?
-
1 RespuestaThis right here has killed it for me. Now I don’t care anymore. What’s the point? Min/maxing armor for 3 months... what a waste of time. It’s not worth the grind. I was fine grinding for the perfect set, and out of the hundreds of armor pieces that dropped for me last season I only had a handful I really liked. Now .... Now I could care less. Everything in this game is disposable. Nothing has any value ... except for eververse gear...
-
the Seasonal Slot needs to stay, but it needs to be available on all gear and work across seasons. the incentive for us to farm gear should be that we want it visually. I am super curious about the Charged with Light mechanic but i'm not gonna farm and upgrade a whole other set of gear for a mechanic that might be dogshit

I can't be bothered to play knowing I need to grind all the armour over and over.
