Animal abuse in America.

I don't think I should censor this post like my other ones. I hope most people agree with me. People talk about how those Chinese eat dogs all the time. I personally think its wrong, but I'm not gonna tell the chinese that they're assholes just because I don't agree with their culture. Why? Its completely hypocritical. -Muslims find pigs to be unclean in their religion, they despise Americans for eating pork the same way we despise chinese eating dogs. It's almost the same exact thing with Hindu religion. In their culture, cows are holy animals, they despise people across the world for eating it. While this has nothing to do with animal abuse, it will help with my 2nd point. -Ever been to a dairy farm? Let me tell you some advice, don't. I visited there once and was horrified. Cows literally stand in a row all day without room and move around very little. They don't go into fields. They stay in their narrow walkway all day and eat and shit. Something even worse: When a male dairy cow is born, they get shot in the head with a bolt. Don't tell me this is humane. This actually needs reform. - I was watching the show, "How it's made" and they filmed a baby chick factory. After the chicks are born, they are put on a conveyor belt. This eventually moves down to a place where they are sorted out by humans. A factory worker would pick up a baby and check something, gender. If it is female, they get tagged, and get thrown back onto the conveyor belt. Yes, they just toss the baby bird. This isn't even the worst part, if the chick is male, they toss it down a seperate conveyor belt. Wanna guess where this leads? A -blam!-ing meat grinder. Yes, a male chick will be tossed into a meat grinder alive. Look it up if you don't believe me, there is plenty of video evidence. The farming industry is disgusting. - Lets move away from farm animals. Let's talk about cats and dogs. There are many dog breeders in the U.S. that are extremely cruel for profit. Some of the dog breeders I went to for my dogs had large open fields for the puppies to play. Not the people at puppy mills. They literally lock up the dogs and kittens in tiny ass cages where they get limited exercise and sunlight. This was the same conditions my German shepherd had when I got him. he was locked in a barn with his brothers and sisters. The breeding of German shepherds in America are REALLY bad. It's gotten so bad that American German shepherds are developing spine problems as well as hip problems. That's how my German shepherd died at 11. Bad back. That's whats happening to my alive German shepherd who is an old dog. Arthritis in his hip/back legs and back issues. Don't worry, the animal still has a lotta energy in him. I interviewed a K9 unit police officer once. He told me that he gets his Dogs from Germany because of how bad American breeding is. - Psychopaths that own dogs/cats need to be stopped. If you need a license to own a firearm, you need a license to own a living thing. There needs to be some sort of psychology test to make sure that people that purchase animals arent crazy. Why do I say this? I have heard stories of people torturing puppies and kittens on the dark web. I actually cried when I read about it. What kind of messed up individual thinks that they can do that to a baby animal? They don't know what's going on, they are just frightened babies who don't deserve any pain whatsoever. End of speech.

  • Agreed. However, there is no efficient way to handle something like the cow problem without heavily influencing one’s profits. If one company starts doing it, and they go bankrupt because none of the others are, then it’s a waste. How would you solve these problems? Some would be obvious like the puppy mills, but to a fault, people like eating chicken and cows. Putting them out preemptively seems like a quick solution to a bad problem. We would have to reformat the entire dairy industry at that point.

  • All forms of life are valuable. But the reality is that we have to destroy other life to consume it for our own survival. We value some forms of life more than others because of culture. Hindus consider cows sacred to Vishnu, while westerners eat beef with few misgivings. Americans love dogs in particular because we keep them primarily as House pets rather than food animals or work animals. So we build strong relationships with them, and see that they are semi-sentient beings. (My dog is about as intelligent and emotionally aware as about a 2-3 year old child). Which is why Americans react so strongly to cruelty to pet animals. Especially dog. Which is why I knew—when the details of his involvement with dog fighting came out——Michael Vick was going to time in prison. No slap on the wrist despite his game at the time.

I have no problem with ethical breeding, but yeah, that drive for profit is leading to some sickening shit.

        • Also, they eat dogs in Mexico. We are sensitive to dogs not because of religion, like your example, but because of our feeling towards them.
-Ever been to a dairy farm?
Yes I have.
Let me tell you some advice, don't. I visited there once and was horrified. Cows literally stand in a row all day without room and move around very little. They don't go into fields. They stay in their narrow walkway all day and eat and shit.
That is false. Cows are kept in a pin, with other cows, that is big enough for them to run around in. Some even go so far as to install big fans and misters to keep the cows cool.
Something even worse: When a male dairy cow is born, they get shot in the head with a bolt. Don't tell me this is humane. This actually needs reform.
They do not. That would be a waste considering the calf could be sold for a profit. Not to mention it being raised and sold for even more.

          • Yeah. Farm animals are treated terribly. Chickens are treated terribly when they’re exported from the farm. The workers that take them are so violent with them. It’s terrible. Then cows are fed corn, which they aren’t even supposed to be fed. The cows would die if they weren’t fed antibiotics they would die. The food industry in America is just terrible as a whole.

This is typically when I let my Nihilism take over and type a bunch of insensitive stuff, but there's a whole lot going on in the world and I personally doubt it'll ever change. China's China, what do you expect? They don't care about human rights, so it doesn't surprise me that they don't care about animal rights.

          • ... Most of your gripes with the meat and dairy industry could be solved if we didn't feed so many people, but currently his is the most efficient way to do so, and honestly, I don't lose sleep over any of this...
not included in the DLC
• America is the only country where it is illegal to kill a horse so you can eat it. Now I’m not for eating horses, but I feel like if someone said “I want to eat a horse” they would cross a border(legally of course) then eat it and return. Laws don’t work too well if only one place has it.

            • Inconvenient truths that we like to ignore. We think of chicken as a tasty meal, not as a life that has suffered its lifetime trapped motionless in a cage or overcrowded with other sick chickens. The male chicks who get chopped up at birth have it lucky IMO.

We have two siamese cats. Our latest one we got for free because the breeder didn't want to do it anymore. Atleast that's what she told us. Shes the best cat, very lovable and playful, until she got sick. She started leaking white pus everywhere. 'Allergies' according to the breeder. We took her to the vet and I cant remember the name of it, but basically it's a thing old cats get when they've had a lot of litters of kittens and it can be fatal. Thing is, shes not an old cat. Shes only a few years old. Not only that, but the lady was apparently still breeding cats after all. WAS. We got her ass shut down. Basically, she knew she -blam!-ed up with this one and that she was sick so she dumped her on us. Cats fine btw. $400 surgery and shes happy and fat. Currently sitting on my lap watching me play Dark Souls 2. She likes to watch videos, its funny.

I really don’t like the idea of breeders. My cat was a rescue from Harvey. She still had ringworm by the time the adoption went through. I don’t get why people need to spend $3000 for a pet, especially knowing how shitty breeding is. For $0, I got the sweetest, mangiest little shit imaginable.
